Chapter 291: Chapter 291: Need to Stay for Observation
“Why did you sleep here?” In the darkness, a warm hand gently stroked her cheek, and Qin Youxuan was startled awake.
As she attempted to sit upright on the tatami, she fell securely into his strong arms.
“You’re back?” Qin Youxuan blinked her cat-like eyes and rubbed them.
“Mm.” Dan Hanjie hummed a single syllable, quickly took her, and went back to their room.
He felt her forehead and grabbed her small hand into his palm, frowning, “Why is your hand so cold? Who allowed you to sleep on the balcony?”
“How is Bai Wei doing?” Qin Youxuan nonchalantly withdrew her hand, hid it in the quilt, and softly asked.
Her gaze steadily met his.
“She lost a lot of blood and might have a concussion. She needs to stay in the hospital for observation.” Dan Hanjie stood up from the bed and unbuttoned his shirt. There were bloodstains on the cuffs, even on the front.
His movements were so brusque as if he couldn’t wait to tear his shirt off, making Qin Youxuan couldn’t help but smile.
When she got her period, he didn’t react as strongly.
“Let me help you.” Qin Youxuan also stood up from the bed, walked in front of him, crouched halfway on the bed, and started to help him undress.
She was neither fast nor slow, her serious expression as if she was performing a crucial task.
Dan Hanjie squinted his eyes, letting her proceed.
His deep gaze fixed on her profile, his previously agitated mood gradually quieting down, and he suddenly embraced her.
“I’ll go take a shower first.”
Just when Qin Youxuan was about to ask what’s wrong, he already let go of her and headed briskly towards the bathroom.
It seems he really can’t stand wearing his dirty clothes…
Qin Youxuan made a pouting sound, pondered a bit, then got off the bed and headed out of the room.
About ten minutes later, she came back with two bowls of piping hot noodles.
Just as she put the bowls on the table, she saw the bathroom door opened from inside.
Dan Hanjie stepped out, only wearing a bathrobe, drying his short hair with a towel.
The deep gray bathrobe accentuated his handsome and enchanting face with a touch of detachment.
However, the underlying hint of indulgence in his eyes deepened as he eyed the noodles on the table.
“Did you make these?”
Dan Hanjie casually tossed the towel aside and sat down at the table.
“You’re giving me too much credit. I only know how to eat. The butler made these for you. I just asked him to make an extra bowl. You probably haven’t had dinner yet, so eat while it’s still hot!” Qin Youxuan grinned as she pushed the other bowl of noodles in front of him, “Here, this is your reward.”
Then she slurped up some noodles, the sound of her chewing was particularly sweet.
Dan Hanjie’s expression became strained as he asked, “Haven’t you eaten dinner?”
“I have, but I didn’t eat much.”
“Did you miss me?” Dan Hanjie raised his eyebrow, attempting to read her expression.
“Nope, I just didn’t have much of an appetite.” Qin Youxuan replied nonchalantly, continuing to shovel noodles into her mouth with evident efficiency.
She glanced at the silent man with a puzzled frown, “Aren’t you hungry?”
Why doesn’t he eat anything?
“Is it because you don’t like the taste of these noodles? I can ask the butler to make something else for you, but you’ll have to wait until I finish.”
Noodles will turn mushy if she let them sit.
Just as Qin Youxuan was thinking about this, she fed another chopstick of noodles into her mouth, followed by a sip of soup.
“Delicious!”
Dan Hanjie sat across from her, watching the little woman who was delighting in her meal. His face had turned so dark it could almost drip ink.
