With a wave of his hand, golden light came out from Patriarch Cold Fire’s hand and he lifted the crystal powder in front of Han Li before turning it into pale golden lights floating in front of his eyes.
“These are all the jade slips that contain the secret cultivation techniques of our sect, how did they fall into your hands? Did you sneak into the inner pavilion of Sutra Pavilion and steal them?” Patriarch Cold Fire raised his head and asked coldly.
Although those jade slips were turned into powder by Han Li, in front of the Patriarch, he only needed a little trace to infer the contents.
“Daoist Cold Fire, you don’t have to be angry. I can give you an explanation,” Han Li said with a sigh after his lips twitched.
“How bold of you to discuss things with me like we are of the same level!”
Patriarch Cold Fire was furious when he heard this and there was golden light at the area between his eyebrows and countless ripple like crystal lights shot out, forming an image of a golden flower ten feet in size.
The golden flower spun down slowly and a flash of light came out from the center of the bud. An almost transparent beam of golden light shot towards Han Li’s head with an incredibly fast speed.
The air where the light travelled through was like ripples on still water.
Han Li stood in place and did not dodge, but raised his head slightly and a flash of crystal light appeared in between his eyebrows. He also shot an invisible wave towards the golden light beam.
The air suddenly shook and ripples formed.
The golden light beam broke as if it had hit into something and the invisible wave also broke apart.
All this happened in a flash.
Han Li’s clothes only flapped a little. Other than that, he seemed fine, with a faint smile on his face.
“H-How is this possible? Are you a banished immortal?” Patriarch Cold Fire trembled and said incredulously.
Although he was just a shadow made of divine sense and he had not used his full power in the attack just now, even a Great Ascension cultivator would not be able to receive it easily, let alone a Nascent Soul cultivator.
This only showed that Han Li’s divine sense was no less than his own!
“Daoist Cold Fire, are you willing to listen to me now?” Han Li asked.
“Then tell me, why did you steal the scripture I had passed down when you have already achieved immortality?” Patriarch Cold Fire’s dark expression changed a few times. Although he was still unhappy, his tone had eased.
“Because of some reasons, I drifted into this Spirit Imperial World and I mean no harm to your sect. However, I am injured at the moment and I don’t have a suitable elixir on hand. So I came to your sect and took some old scriptures, and want to know more about them,” Han Li explained slowly.
“Oh, I see. May I know where in the Immortal World was Daoist Han before?” Although Patriarch Cold Fire said this, his eyes were twinkling. It was obvious that he did not fully believe Han Li’s words.
“I am staying here for the time being and won’t do anything harmful to your sect. Similarly, you don’t have to ask more about my origin,” Han Li said with a faint smile.
Patriarch Cold Fire snorted. How could he not ask about the details when Han Li, an immortal, appeared in the Spirit Imperial World for no reason? But if Han Li did not want to say it, he could not do anything to what was merely a trace of a divine sense.
“Don’t worry, I owe you one. I can promise you that if Cold Fire Sect meets any trouble, I can help you once,” Han Li said.
“Does Daoist Han really mean it?” When Patriarch Cold Fire heard this, he was greatly moved.
Although he was already in the Immortal World, he cherished the Cold Fire Sect that he founded and continued to support. If not, he would not have given them elixir cultivation techniques for all these years and although Cold Fire Sect seemed to be powerful in the Spirit Imperial World, it was not free of worries.
However, he was in the Immortal World and even if wanted to help, he could not do much. But if Han Li, who was also a Perfected Immortal, could help, there were more things he could do.
Two days later, at the back of Sacred Fire Peak of Cold Fire Sect.
Deep in the black bamboo forest surrounded by mist, there was a small courtyard with elegant and unique green tiles.
The distribution of the black bamboo was very dense. It looked normal, but in fact, there were hidden mysteries.
The position of each cluster of black bamboo here coincided with a position of an array formation. Thousands of black bamboo grew like a continuous sea and formed a unique array formation.
The black bamboo planted here were not ordinary bamboo, but Lung-Fire Bamboo that could absorb the power of Earth fire. If one looked at the body of the bamboo carefully, one could see that under the skin of the black bamboo, there was a dark red pattern like a flame.
It was with this huge bamboo lung fire array that this area had become the place in Spiritual Flame Mountain where the spiritual energy was the most abundant and the Earth fire was most concentrated.
The small courtyard with blue tiles and white walls were built in the center of this big array.
At this moment, inside the house of the small courtyard, a man in a purple robe was sitting cross-legged on a round cushion and cultivating with his eyes closed.
The shoulder length hair of the man was as white as snow, his facial features handsome and there was a purple mark in the area between his eyebrows, which looked like a flame. He seemed to be thirty years of age, and his body was shrouded with a purple air that showed a majestic aura that could make people’s hearts flutter.
On a rosewood table not far from him, there was a gold-plated red copper incense burner, in which sandalwood was burning and a curl of green smoke slowly wafted from it.
On the wall next to the table, hung a scroll painting, on which there was a painting of a middle-aged man.
The lines on the portrait were not very detailed, but they were very vivid. The face of the person in the painting was squarish, with bright eyes and a beard on his cheeks. He was tall and the robe on his body was puffed up slightly, and he was giving out a grand aura.
Just then, the white-haird man opened his eyes and looked at the scroll painting on the wall in surprise.
There was a strange wave on the painting and water ripples spread out. The person in the painting seemed to have come alive, his body moved left and right and he walked out of the paper.
The white-haired man quickly stood up and fell to the ground in a bow with his body trembling slightly and said respectfully, “Welcome, Patriarch.”
“Get up, I came today because I have something to tell you,” the person waved his hands perfunctorily and said.
The white-haired man then stood up with a respectful expression as he waited for instructions.
“A few days ago, I found out that someone had sneaked their way into the Sutra Pavilion,” Patriarch Cold Fire said slowly.
When the white-haired man heard this, his heart tightened and sweat oozed from his forehead. He was about to explain before the other man continued, “This matter is now over, there is no need to pursue it any further.”
“Patriarch, this…” The white-haired man was stunned when he heard this.
However, Patriarch Cold Fire waved his hand to interrupt his next words, his lips moving.
The expression of the white-haired man changed as he listened. First it was shock, then surprise and then finally he was surprised and happy.
