Chapter 49: Threatening

“I really didn’t think that a vixen like you would possess such strong flames. Oh… I understand now. That Han boy must have given it to you! No wonder it was so hard to deal with. However, this is a really nice surprise to me as it seems like my time is here! Haha…” The black-robed elder stared at the silver seal on Liu Le’er’s left arm as he laughed out loud heartily.
Liu Le’er was currently wrapped by the black net like a dumpling, so she could not move at all. After hearing the elder’s words, she immediately remembered something and cried out.
“You’re Qi Xuan from Sky Ghost Sect!”
“Yes, I am Qi Xuan. It seems like you understand why I’m here now!” Qi Xuan’s smile faded away as his face distorted with ruthlessness.
“Don’t even think about using me to lure my Brother here!”
Liu Le’er shouted angrily, determination flashing across her pale face.
With that, the girl’s eyes started to glow with a dark green light and green spots appeared in the space between her eyebrows as they sparkled brightly.
Seeing this, the elder snapped his fingers and a black glow instantly shot out from his hand before disappearing into Liu Le’er’s forehead.
The green glow at Liu Le’er’s forehead flashed and disappeared. Before she could think of anything else, her vision turned black as she fainted.
“Humph! This is still not the time for you to die! Once I catch that Han Li, I’ll naturally exterminate the both of you with the Earth’s Devil Fire in front of my grandnephew’s grave and obliterate the two of you, wiping you from existence!”
Qi Xuan mumbled to himself angrily before his eyes returned to the teenage girl’s left arm. He hummed lowly for a moment before he took out a red round bottle that was carved intricately with all sorts of unknown runes.
He threw out the round bottle and the bottle floated in front of him. With that, he mumbled under his breath and snapped his fingers, as if he were casting some magic skills.
After a few moments, he cried out softly and tapped the round bottle with a finger.
Pft!
All of the runes on the bottle instantly lit up, and a reddish ray shot out from within.
About ten reddish crystal sticks flew out from the ray and instantly entered the silver seal on the teenage girl’s left arm, then they pulled outwards.
Ring, ring, ring!
The silver seal instantly glowed brightly and as the crystal sticks pulled at the rune, small silver flames slowly appeared.
Happiness surged in Qi Xuan’s heart as he hurriedly made a hand seal.
The ray spouting from the bottle immediately became a lot denser and more crystal sticks appeared from it and flew straight into the silver seal.
Liu Le’er’s body trembled slightly, her left arm twitching a little as she moaned in pain.
More and more silver flames were pulled out from the seal and vaguely morphed into the shape of half a firebird. However, its aura was extremely weak and it looked like it would disappear anytime.
Right at that moment, a green glow surfaced on the bottom of the rune and briefly exuded a force that seemed to want to pull the firebird right back in.
Seeing this, Qi Xuan gave a scoff, before he opened his mouth and spat out a mouthful of blood essence that integrated into the bottle.
With that, the bottle glowed even brighter and all of the crystal sticks interlaced together, instantly morphing into two crystal-clear chains. With a loud crack, it tightened around the silver firebird’s neck.
The silver glow around the bird flashed and awoke the bird. As if noticing the chains around its neck, the bird let out an angry growl and spread its wings. The silver flames around it grew stronger as it sprayed out a breath of silver flames.
Once the crystal-clear chains touched the silver flames, it instantly disintegrated into nothing. Without slowing down, the fire blew into the red round bottle directly and continued to move towards Qi Xuan.
Because it happened so suddenly and with the crazy speed the flames were travelling at, it arrived in front of the elder in the blink of an eye.
Qi Xuan was extremely alarmed. Without hesitating, he waved his hand and threw out a small pale-green shield to protect himself. At the same time, a shadow instantly flew out to a distance of about a dozen yards away. However, the figure’s left arm had been turned into ashes because it touched a little of the silver flames.
If this flame had not been weakened, he would either be dead or badly injured.
He sucked in a deep breath and took out a bloody red spirit pill and consumed it. At the place where his arm ended, muscles started to twist about crazily and new flesh started to grow at a visible speed.
After a few breaths, his left arm was whole again.
The elder finally glanced towards Liu Le’er with fear.
The red round bottle and the small pale-green shield had long been completely swallowed by the silver flames. After the silver firebird launched an attack, the seal on the teenage girl’s left arm glowed green for a second before the firebird returned into the seal and disappeared.
Although he had been taken off guard and suffered a blow, he stared at the seal even more intensely.
…
In the meandering mountains of the Green Mountains, thick mist boiled as spiritual energy filled the air, spreading to the various exquisite and grand pavilions.
Above a certain distant mountain valley, about eight shadows flew over from a distance and landed towards the mouth of the valley.
Amongst the group of people, the leader was a teenager that was about seventeen years old. He was wearing a white shirt, his face handsome and arrogant-looking.
One of them landed and shouted towards the rest, “Enter the valley immediately. We cannot let it run away again this time.”
“Yes!’
Everyone answered in unison before they rushed into the valley.
However, an old woman wearing a gray robe and had completely white hair did not listen to the orders like the rest. Instead, she held onto a weirdly-shaped purple walking stick and followed closely beside the teenager.
“Grandma Sun, you should go with them. This purple-cloud mink is really crafty. Without your help, it’ll be hard for them to get anything done.” The teenager said as he glanced at the old woman beside him.
“Young Master, I’m under Sect Master’s orders to protect you and not to leave my position no matter what.” The white-haired old woman shook her head.
“You’ll only be going into the valley before me to go catch that purple-cloud mink. How can it be counted as leaving your position?” The teenager said with a tight furrow of his eyebrows.
“Sect Master ordered me to not leave Young Master at all. If anything happens to you, death is inevitable for me.” The old woman was still unwilling to follow his orders.
Annoyance appeared on the teenager’s expression, as he said, “This Gourd Valley is within our Primordial Realm Temple’s territory and we’re barely miles away from our Sect. If any crazy maniac dares to disturb us, wouldn’t he be tired of living?”
“Although it’s like this…”
Before she could finish speaking, the annoyed teenager interrupted her, “You don’t have to speak anymore. If you delay this anymore and let the purple-cloud mink run away, I will bring this up to the Ancestor and hold you accountable.”
The old woman’s expression turned a little dark, but she still continued to hesitate and remained on the same spot.
“Aren’t you going?!”
Seeing this, the teenager instantly growled angrily.
The white-haired old woman could only grit her teeth silently as she banged her purple walking stick against the floor with great strength. She morphed into a long rainbow and rushed into the valley.
The teenager stared at the old woman’s back. He still felt a little stuffy as he waved his sleeve to vent his anger, before he started to walk towards the valley.
However, he had only taken two steps when he felt something wrong behind him. He turned around instinctively, only to see two alarming dark-blue glows trembling nonstop and his consciousness instantly turned muddled.
In the void behind him, Han Li, dressed in a green robe, slowly appeared. The blue glow in his eyes sparkled, a purple talisman between his fingers.
He kept the High Zenith Invisibility talisman slowly, a smirk appearing on his lips as he walked in front of the teenager.
At this moment, the teenager’s eyes were dazed, his expression blank as he remained unmoved.
“Where is Primordial Realm Temple’s Multiple Star Stage?” Han Li asked immediately.
“It’s at Nine Palace Peak… at the top.” the teenager’s mouth moved as he replied.
“Oh, why isn’t it at the main peak, Heaven Respect Peak?” Hearing this, Han Li asked curiously.
“Nine Palace Peak is the tallest and has the broadest view on the mountain. As it is easier to attract the astral power, our ancestors put the array formation on this mountain.” The teenager answered without any hesitation.
“Who is guarding the Multiple Star Stage? How is their cultivation base?” Han Li nodded and continued asking.
“Our Sect’s arrangement…” The teenager’s expression was blank as his mouth moved nonstop and he told Han Li everything about the Nine Palace Peak’s situation like beans were being poured out of a container.
Nine Palace Peak was the Sect’s next largest mountain after Heaven Respect Peak, so it was naturally an important place to Primordial Realm Temple as well. There were many Sect elders and disciples that usually cultivated there.
However, the mountain peak where the Multiple Star Stage was located was a restricted area. Apart from certain inner sect elders and some core disciples, no one else was allowed to enter the place.
According to the teenager’s description, there was a very strong restrictive seal outside of the Multiple Star Stage and there were various elders permanently protecting the place. What he could confirm was that there was at least one Integration level elder holding down the fort.
Han Li pondered softly. After a few moments, he tapped the teenager’s forehead lightly before he dissipated like smoke.
The teenager’s eyes finally regained their clarity. He remembered that there was something weird behind him, so he hurriedly turned back to take a look. However, the spot behind him was completely empty.
He shook his head with slight confusion, before he turned around and continued walking into the valley.
Han Li’s figure appeared from behind an old tree a small distance away. He lifted his feet and jumped up.
Suddenly, a glow appeared at his waist. Even though he did not call for it, a yellow talisman flew upwards and remained suspended in the air.
Seeing the seal, Han Li furrowed his eyebrows a little.
A soft hum rang.
A ball of flames surged in the air and the talisman instantly caught fire.
As the flames burned, a blurry figure appeared in them and slowly turned clearer.
In the image, he immediately saw the teenage girl wearing a green shirt, collapsed on a stone table. Her face was completely pale, her eyes shut tight as she appeared to have fainted.
And her slender wrist was being held tightly by a large skeletal hand.
The owner of that hand was wearing a black robe, his hair white while his beard was black. He was extremely thin and he was staring at Han Li with a dark expression.
“You must be Qi Xuan!” Han Li said firmly after glancing at the elder and he narrowed his eyes as he recognized the other’s robe.
“Humph! Thief Han, you killed my grandnephew, Hao’er, two years ago, then tricked my good friend, Lu Ya, and hid in the Cold Fire Sect like a turtle! It has been a good hunt! Today, this little vixen has landed in my hands, are you going to save her?” The elder smiled even though his expression was fierce and dark.
“What do you want?” Han Li asked without any change in his expression.
“Within a month, come to the Dark Ghost Valley at Fengyin Mountains of our Sky Ghost Sect. Remember, you can only come alone. If I don’t see you then, don’t blame me for being ruthless.” Qi Xuan said with a dark tone.
As he spoke, he tightened his hold on Liu Le’er’s wrist. The fainted girl immediately furrowed her eyebrows from the pain and her face turned pale.
Seeing this, Han Li’s expression darkened as he kept silent.
A devilish snicker followed and the flames in front of him disappeared after distorting, leaving only a lump of ash. Blown away by the mountain breeze, it disappeared into nothing.
