Chapter 22: Chapter 22: How about letting Abigail get engaged?

“Abigail, run!” Aunt Claudia cried, trembling with fear.
Over the years, under the control of Rose Taylor, Jackson Taylor acted brazenly and arrogantly in the Green household, behaving as he pleased. Especially since Abigail was weak-willed and not favored by Lincoln Green, this made the Taylors increasingly reckless.
Abigail didn’t move; her fingers caressing a slender silver needle, the very memento she had kept after stitching a wound.
“Ha, ha, ha, idiot!” Seeing her standing still, Jackson Taylor cursed and was about to attack her.
In a flash, a figure lunged at Jackson. Abigail hesitated, then heard Jackson’s cursing, “You crazy bitch, how dare you lay a hand on me. I will… Ahh!!”
Before he could finish, a black boot stepped on Jackson’s wrist, and screams immediately filled the air.
Abigail arched an eyebrow, looking at Pullan who seemed to have come out of nowhere. “Mr. Pullan, what is this?”
“Miss Green, the young master has been crying uncontrollably since he woke up. Piers Jr. would like you to come over to the Piers’.” Pullan retracted his foot and respectfully spoke.
On the ground, Jackson, hearing the name Piers Jr., clenched his teeth to bear the pain and collapsed like a quail.
“Okay.” Abigail felt a twinge in her heart as she thought of the little one clinging to her last night, melting her heart.
“Thank you, Miss Green.” Pullan expressed his gratitude.
Abigail went over to help Aunt Claudia up, glancing coldly at Jackson. She had let him off easy this time. “Aunt Claudia, take this card, help me buy some daily necessities for my room, I’ll see you when I get back.”
It wasn’t safe for Aunt Claudia to stay in the villa before she returned.
“Abigail…”
“Go.” Abigail interrupted Aunt Claudia’s words.
Aunt Claudia nodded her agreement. Only then did Abigail look at Jackson on the ground, Pullan’s kick was not light, this sorry excuse for a man would probably end up in the hospital like the mother and daughter.
Once Abigail and the other two left, Jackson struggled to get up from the ground, gave Abigail’s retreating figure a harsh look, and then began screaming for someone to take him to the hospital.
The hospital.
Rose Taylor and Ruby Green were staying in a VIP room, the mother and daughter were tearful, both of their legs were in casts.
“Dad, it’s all my fault. I shouldn’t have spoken against Abigail.” Tears rolled down Ruby’s haggard little face, full of vulnerability and pity, like a delicate flower about to wilt at a touch.
Her face pale with pain, Rose Taylor was able to understand and responded, “Yes, we must have misunderstood Abigail. How could she ask the gardener to beat us? It’s all slander from Johnson Harrison.”
“But I heard the servants say that Uncle Gardner suddenly came into a lot of money…”
“Ruby!” Ruby was cut off by Rose Taylor, who suddenly shouted at her. She closed her mouth but her tears flowed even more.
Lincoln Green stood up angrily, “Damn it, that damn girl! I’ll report her to the police right away. She must think I wouldn’t dare, that’s why she’s so reckless!”
“Honey, don’t be impulsive. It might be a misunderstanding. And there’s Ruby’s engagement with the Piers couple…” Rose wanted Abigail to lose her backup, Lincoln Green, but didn’t dare to actually call the police. Besides, with Ruby’s impending engagement to Piers Jr., the Greens couldn’t afford a scandal.
Lincoln Green turned around, “But you and Ruby shouldn’t have to suffer like this!”
“Compared to us, the reputation of the Green family is more important. If you really care about us, why not arrange for Abigail to get engaged too. With the way she treated Ruby, I’m afraid she’ll do the same to Piers Jr…”
“Dream on, she should take a good look at herself, daring to fancy Piers Jr.!” Lincoln’s expression changed at the thought of his overweight daughter. Despite knowing that Abigail was acting for him, he felt humiliated by her weight.
“But about Abigail’s engagement…”
“Do you have a good candidate in mind?” Lincoln sighed and asked.
A glint of darkness flashed in Rose’s eyes. She knew her husband had agreed.
