Chapter 190: The Crown Prince
Jing Yue stopped and realized that there might be a guest in Xiao Chen’s study.
“Your Highness,” said Xing Yi, who was surprised at Jing Yue’s arrival at first and soon bowed to show his respect.
“Is he busy now?” asked Jing Yue with blinking eyes.
“Yes, His Highness is negotiating with Crown Prince. If it’s urgent, I’ll get in to report it to His Highness.”
“Crown Prince?” His words surprised Jing Yue. She frowned slightly and said, “Forget it. It’s not a big deal. I will come again after he is done with this.” Then she slightly nodded to Xing Yi and was about to leave.
“Okay, that’s a deal.” The moment Jing Yue turned around, the study’s door opened.
A thin figure came out of the study, and then Xiao Chen appeared too. Jing Yue looked at them with a little surprise.
“Who is this?” asked the thin man. He had a pale face which showed his morbid condition. But his black eyes weren’t turbid at all. He looked so thin that even a gust of wind might easily carry him away. It seemed that he wasn’t strong enough to withstand the wind, because he even wore a cloak in August.
His clothes looked graceful and the dragon jade pendant attached to his waist wasn’t ordinary. Obviously, this sickly man was Crown Prince—Xiao Yuling.
“Your Highness.” Jing yue was stunned for a moment before extending her respect. Look, she did learn something in the etiquette school.
Xiao Yuling was startled at her movement and a glimmer of light flashed through his black eyes. Of course, he recognized the man who stood respectfully beside Jing Yue. It was Xing Er, the Ninth Imperial Uncle’s bodyguard. And this girl appeared at the Mansion of Prince, her identity was obvious.
“You must be the Imperial Concubine of my Ninth Imperial Uncle, Lady Jing Yue.” Xiao Yuling looked at her with a smile.
Jing Yue nodded.
“When did you get home?” Xiao Chen approached her at this time and looked at her with soft eyes.
“I’ve just arrived.” Jing Yue turned to Xiao Chen and then looked at Xiao Yuling, “I should go back to Lotus Garden and leave you to discuss businesses.” She smiled at them and was about to leave.
“Don’t. Crown Prince is going back to the palace. And I also have something to tell you.” Xiao Chen shook his head and stood beside Jing Yue; then he took her small hand naturally.
“Ah?” Jing Yue didn’t think there was anything wrong with Xiao Chen’s action, but Xiao Yuling was stunned by this. Though he had heard rumors in the palace that the Ninth Imperial Uncle and his Imperial Concubine were a happy couple, he never took them seriously, because in his mind, the Ninth Imperial Uncle would never put anyone into his heart. So he never imagined that the Ninth Imperial Uncle could treat anyone so softly like now.
Even a woman!
“Yes, I should go now.” There was some implication in Xiao Yuling’s eyes. He smiled at this couple and then left with his servant’s escort. Jing Yue frowned at his unsteady footsteps and thought, ‘The Crown Prince does look very sick.’
