Chapter 205: How Do You Like the Food?
But today, to save trouble, Jing Yue arranged all of them were in a large room. When Jing Yue arrived, the room’s atmosphere was unexpectedly dreary. Why?
Of course, it was because of Ninth Imperial Uncle who was seated at the honor.
“Sorry… I’m late,” appologized Jing Yue, who got into the room and looked at all the people with a smile. Since Xiao Chen saw Jing Yue coming in, the tension drained slowly, and people breathed a sigh of relief.
Fang Zicheng gulped down his tea. The dinner was entirely up on him to keep the conversation. Without him, the dinner would have been over much earlier.
“So, do you have a good time in my restaurant?” Jing Yue looked around at the crowd, and finally took a brisk step toward Xiao Chen and sat down. This action apparently delighted our Ninth Imperial Uncle, so the air was thoroughly relaxed, and Xiao Chen held Jing Yue’s hand in front of everyone.
“Jing Yue, you’re really capable. You started a restaurant without delay.” Shangguan Linglan’s eyes were full of amazement and worship.
“Exactly…The opening of your restaurant, I suspect, will take more than half of the guests from Delectable Delicacies Chamber!” Fang Zicheng said rather jealously.
“Tut, this restaurant is based on real ability. If you compete for business, do it to the end.” Jing Yue proudly raised her chin and said with a smile, “Sooner or later, my restaurant will dominate others in the Imperial City!”
“Ambitious girl. I support you.” Jing Lang nodded in earnest; obviously he appreciated Jing Yue very much.
“Yueyue, thanks to the help of Ninth Imperial Uncle, it will be better and better in the future.” Ning Xiangyuan was dignifiedly seated and looked straight at Jing Yue. She glanced at Xiao Chen who was sitting beside Jing Yue, appearing a little unnatural.
“Yuanyuan, you’re wrong. I didn’t open this restaurant depending on him. And today he insisted on attending the opening ceremony,” Jing Yue squinted at Xiao Chen, saying, “I thought he is pity, so I reluctantly gave him an invitation letter.”
Xiao Chen narrowed his eyes, which implied a serious warning to Jing Yue, but Jing Yue seemed unaware of it.
Hearing Jing Yue’s words, everyone was in a sweat. How could Jing Yue say bad things about Xiao Chen in front of so many people? What was strange, Xiao unexpectedly showed no sign of anger, which made others feel odd.
“Tell me about it. How do you like the food?” asked Jing Yue while looking at the folks excitedly.
“I’ve never heard or seen such food that was so unique in the Imperial City.” Fang Zicheng wagged his head and said, “I has decided to always eat in your restaurant in the future.”
“It’s really too wonderful for words, but in my opinion, today’s three dishes can’t be called cuisine. Might they be snacks?” Jing Lang slightly curved the corners of his mouth, as he looked up at Jing Yue.
“Yes, they’re indeed not the main dishes.” Grinning, Jing Yue said to the people, “They are just little maneuvers for satisfying your desire. You won’t eat the main dishes today. Come again tomorrow.” Jing Yue’s words let everyone’s eyes bright.
“Jing Yue, where did you learn all these? How do you work it out?” Shangguan Linglan asked with a wink, her stomach still unsatisfied.
