Chapter 53: You’ve Been Bad
Mu Zi arrived home just in time.
Bai Wei had finished cooking and was setting the dishes when she saw Mu Zi enter through the door. She said gently, “Go wash your hands quickly. Dinner’s ready.”
Mu Zi smiled and agreed.
Mu Rongcheng was not at home and only mother and daughter were at the dinner table.
Bai Wei called Mu Rongcheng but there was no answer, and she started to get worried.
“Your brother might not be coming back tonight…” Bai Wei sighed.
Mu Zi wanted nothing more.
She continued to eat as her appetite grew.
Bai Wei was still talking to herself. “He said he wants to start a company, but I don’t know if he can really pull it off. He also stays out all the time. I’m really worried about him…”
Mu Zi thought to herself, ‘It’s better if he never comes back.’
Bai Wei sighed again.
Her unruly son really caused her to be anxious. Fortunately, her daughter was becoming more sensible, which made Bai Wei’s heart finally feel slightly comforted.
“In a few days time, mom will take you to Geroux to take a look at the campus environment. If it’s suitable, then I’ll pay the tuition immediately.” Bai Wei wholeheartedly supported Mu Zi. “We also have to start preparing some school supplies.”
“No need.” Mu Zi devoted herself to deshelling a crispy salt and pepper shrimp and said, “Eldest brother will pay for my tuition.”
Bai Wei looked slightly embarrassed. “Zizi, I’m afraid your eldest brother won’t agree…”
“He will.” Mu Zi smiled at Bai Wei and bit into the shrimp. “Don’t worry, mom.”
Bai Wei opened her mouth but lost her words at Mu Zi’s confident demeanor.
In her opponent, Mu Rongxuan would never agree.
Bai Wei only thought that Mu Zi did not know how expensive Geroux’s tuition was, so she did not say anything more. She did not want to affect her daughter’s good mood, so she secretly decided to go to the bank in a few days time to open a separate account for savings for her daughter’s tuition.
…
The stars in the summer nights were exceptionally bright. The starlight shrouded the Mu residence’s rear garden in a radiant silver, making it glow with a kind of quiet beauty.
Mu Zi sat by the window and enjoyed the night breeze, and gradually became sleepy.
There might not be so many comfortable and peaceful days in the future.
She would peel off the Mu family’s glamorous skin layer by layer until the disorder and ugly features were revealed to all.
She yawned gently and drew the curtains, and laid down to rest.
She soon fell asleep…
…
In her sleep, Mu Zi felt slightly cold.
She subconsciously stretched out a hand and groped wildly, but did not find the blanket that covered her body. She turned around.
Her fingers touched a hard and strong chest. Groggy with sleep, she did not manage to react and even thought that she was dreaming when a cold layer suddenly pressed on her lips—
Mu Zi immediately woke up!
She practically jumped out of bed!
She struggled and escaped, but was fished back by the man behind her just as she reached the edge of the bed!
“Mu Rongcheng! Let go of me!”
She did not even have to think about it. The only person in the Mu residence who would commit such a late-night visit to a lady’s room was Mu Rongcheng!
He clamped down on Mu Zi’s hands and pressed her down on the bed.
His features were blurred in the dark, but his voice was as low and evil as ever. “You can scream louder. Call for mom and let her see what we look like now.”
Mu Zi’s body instantly froze.
Mu Rongcheng was shameless, but she was not!
If she let Bai Wei see this, she would give up on life!
Seeing that she was no longer struggling, Mu Rongcheng took her into his arms and stroked her black hair like a cat that had been soothed.
“Did you meet Mu Zening today?” He asked.
Mu Zi was stunned. He had not been home the entire day. How did he know?
The man bowed his head and approached her. His hoarse voice concealed danger. “Zizi, you’ve been bad.”
