Chapter 468: Chapter 468: PK
There were already a few contestants backstage.
It seemed that everyone had come early to prepare to avoid any unforeseen circumstances.
But there weren’t many people here yet.
Those who arrived earlier were getting their makeup done.
Cindy Clarke had already shown her face last time, so it didn’t matter this time.
She came without wearing a mask, acting casually.
There was an empty seat.
Cindy sat down and let the makeup artist apply her makeup.
Halfway through, Iris Doone rushed in.
By this time, most of the contestants had already arrived in the makeup room.
When Iris entered, her face was flushed from running, and she greeted everyone with a slightly breathless tone.
“Why did you arrive so late?” Blake Walker asked.
“The traffic was jammed.” Iris glanced at Cindy, “Luckily, I made it.”
Cindy didn’t even look at Iris.
After everyone finished their makeup, a staff member came over and said, “You can all go to the food storage room now to check the ingredients. If there are any oversights, please point them out, and we will replenish them immediately.”
Allowing all the contestants to check together was to prevent any tampering.
It made each contestant a witness.
So, everyone followed the staff to the food storage room.
The ingredients needed by each contestant were sorted and separated.
Each contestant had a storage area labeled with their name.
They found their own ingredient area according to the name tags.
Cindy came to her ingredients and found that there was an extra piece of shark fin.
She hadn’t asked for this when she submitted her list before.
She didn’t know if it was a mistake by the organizer or if it was just in case.
Cindy was about to tell the staff that she didn’t need the shark fin,
but when she turned her head, she saw Iris looking at the ingredients in her storage area.
Cindy looked away and changed her mind about telling the staff.
She took out her mobile phone, slightly angled herself to block Iris’s view, and took a photo of her ingredient storage area.
The photo details also showed the time it was taken.
After that, Cindy left to see the other condiments and ingredients she needed,
but kept an eye on Iris.
She saw Iris seemingly inadvertently walk past Cindy’s ingredient storage area.
The staff confirmed with all the contestants one last time.
The contestants all said there were no problems with their ingredients.
Cindy also said the same.
After that, everyone returned to the backstage area.
Not long after, the live stream officially began.
All contestants took the stage.
This time there was no surprise like in the first competition.
Because this time, the stage had the standard cooking stations.
However, the difference was that the cooking stations were paired up.
This way, contestants would face each other two by two while cooking.
“Why is it arranged like this?” Some contestants whispered.
“Are we going to have a PK match?”
The contestants stood in three rows on the stage, with ten people in each row.
The host was still Grace Green.
Grace Green came on stage and walked to the front, saying to the audience, “Welcome everyone to watch the second round of the Pingla Culinary Competition. In the last competition, the top ten contestants from the auditions received a bye. The remaining forty contestants competed and eliminated twenty people.”
“So, there are a total of thirty contestants in this competition,” Grace Green said, “Standing behind me now are the top thirty chefs in this year’s national youth competition. Congratulations to all of you for entering the national top thirty!”
