Chapter 155: A Rank Dangerous Entity (2)
The office immediately became noisy. Simply put, soldiers who were put on monitoring became shocked. The Gate was presumed to open about 2 miles away from the Wall, but it actually opened right in front of the wall.
“GE WAVE 37% activated!”
The Gate Warning automatically went off. If the Gate opened in such close proximity, citizens needed to be evacuated at once. Major Wui quickly got back to his senses and began to bark orders.
“We are moving the Defense Protocol on the entire city at once! Report to the Commander, and send all of our troops to the location now!”
“Yes, sir!”
At least it was fortunate that the Gate Warning went off during the daytime, so all military officers including Commander Jo Yun were at their desks, and soldiers were on standby near the northeast.
But it was just that the Gate was too close to the wall, and it was likely that the wall would be breached. If that happened, many lives would inevitably be lost.
“We have contacted the PSB, the Yulin Organization at Jenam, and the Gatekeepers, sir.”
Soldiers acted as per the manual. The GE Wave rate was moving rapidly up as they were working.
‘I hope they arrive in time.’
The location was way too close to the city. There was not enough time. They also needed a safe distance for their tanks to fire at enemies, which did not seem like a feasible option at this moment too.
“Major Wui! You should see this!”
That’s when one of the soldiers opened up a screen on the bigger screen. Something was dropping in front of the G-17 wall. It was a 5-meter long bluish creature with well-developed muscles. It was bipedal creature with four arms. Major Wui spoke in terror.
“N-no way… that’s…!”
“SHIVARA!!”
One of the soldiers shouted its name. Shivara, named after a god of Hinduism, was a monster had many arms. It was simple as to why the soldiers and Major Wui became fearful of the monster.
“A… It’s an A Rank…”
These dangerous entities were ranked as grade A on the danger scale. These were more intelligent than their other beastly counterparts, and they had already destroyed over five cities across the world. They were rightfully ranked.
“This is impossible! An A Rank!?”
This was the worst nightmare. They were notified by the Defense Department that it was presumed to be B Rank or higher, but they were hopeful that it was no higher than B. Jenam City had higher than average defensive abilities than other remote cities, but defending against an A Rank was a different story.
That’s when a shot was fired at the Shivara shown on the video. The explosion made the camera shake. It was obvious for soldiers at the wall to react fast, as the monsters were right in front of them.
“It’s started.”
Lieutenant Ja Sunkyung spoke with a serious voice. This was a grave situation as the Gate Warning just went off, and they still did not have Yulinians or Gatekeepers on the spot. And there was a bigger problem.
“If it is Shivara, there should be an Alpha…”
That’s when about five camera screens by the wall immediately went down. It included the G-17 Camera that was on the main screen. On a few cameras that were still alive, there was a giant something with six arms approaching in the distance hidden by smoke. Major Wui became pale.
“No…”
A street not far from Northeast of Jenam City was filled with cars trying to evacuate from the city. Normally, only citizens near Gate location would be evacuated, but this time, all citizens in the northeast area were notified to evacuate southwest immediately. Thanks to that, the traffic congestion was out of control. PSB officers came out to ease the congestion, but it wasn’t going so well.
“FUCK! MOVE YOUR DAMN CAR!”
“What the hell is going on?! Why aren’t you moving!”
People opened their car windows to scream at each other. It was chaos. Not all city streets were large, there was bound to be such congestion, especially with some cars getting frustrated trying to shove themselves in, causing accidents.
“This will kill us all!”
“Where are the police?!”
It was when citizens were becoming frustrated that there were cars moving in the opposite direction of everyone, towards the northeast where everyone was trying to run away from. It was a few buses and cars, to which citizens shouted with cheer and joy.
“Gatekeepers!!”
“YEAH!!”
The buses were carrying Gatekeepers, and the other cars had Yulin Organization tags on them. They were heading toward the Gate after receiving the call from the Defense Department. They were moving at a very fast speed at about 90 to 100 miles per hour. In the middle of the parade of cars was a black SUV. A bald man with a mustache who was driving with one hand on the wheel and one hand on an old cellphone spoke.
“What should we do? It’s not too far from here now.”
A mechanical voice spoke from the speaker of the cellphone.
-A Rank… what a time for it to appear. This is bad timing.
