Chapter 34: Douchebag

Yan Nian was stunned.
She brushed away the pig trotter’s hand with a smack.
“What are you doing?”
She glared harshly at Ding Baoyi’s boyfriend who was one seat away, her eyebrows furrowed unhappily.
The other party smiled awkwardly as he replied, “I’m sorry, I mistook you for Baoyi!”
He mistook her for Ding Baoyi?!
Didn’t he hear Ding Baoyi when she said that she was going to the washroom?
There was such a huge space between them, and he didn’t feel a thing?
He’d extended his arm so much to touch her hand. How could that not be on purpose?
The words “You motherf*cker” were about to leave her lips before she thought about it.
No. She had to stay calm.
Remain calm first.
It would just be a baseless accusation right now. Plus, there were other people in the movie theater. Yelling loudly would just affect others, and she might be the one who would end up in trouble.
“I am really sorry about that, I hope you’re not offended.”
The man was still apologizing to Yan Nian. His tone of voice sounded sincere and there was nothing out of the ordinary about it.
Yan Nian restrained the malicious look on her face as she gave a dull smile in return and shook her head. “It’s okay. I am going to head to the washroom too.”
As she walked past the man, she could feel his gaze clearly checking her out.
When she had already turned a corner, he was still staring at her straight-on. It was so disgusting!
Yan Nian tried to hold back the urge to vomit as she walked calmly to the washroom.
In the female washroom, Ding Baoyi was putting on lipstick in front of a mirror. She glanced at Yan Nian through the mirror. “You still came in the end. I bought a new lipstick and the color looks rather good. Do you want to give it a try?”
“Try for shit!”
“What’s wrong, who annoyed you again? Your husband?”
“No. It’s your boyfriend.”
Hearing this, Ding Baoyi’s hand twitched a little, causing her lipstick line to go off the corner of her lips.
“What did he do?”
Ding Baoyi did not understand.
Yan Nian took in a deep breath of air.
“He touched my hand earlier and said that he thought I was you.”
“Are you being serious right now??”
“Hey, Ding Baoyi. We have been friends since kindergarten. You’ll believe me, won’t you?”
“But…”
Ding Baoyi furrowed her eyebrows as she thought about it. “Chang Dong isn’t such a person.”
Chang Dong was that man’s name.
Ding Baoyi was honestly a little moved by the man. She wasn’t just playing around. That was why she brought him to meet Yan Nian.
“Ding-Dong.”
A message notification sound was heard. It was a message from a stranger.
Yan Nian read the message and her eyebrows furrowed tightly. She raised her phone to let Ding Baoyi have a look.
“Could this be your boyfriend’s phone number?”
Ding Baoyi was taken aback.
The message read—
“I noticed that you seemed a little pallid. You didn’t have a good rest, right? Please do not misunderstand, I am purely just concerned about you. You are Baoyi’s friend, and therefore, you are also my friend. If you are facing any problems, you can talk to me about it, perhaps I could even help you out in some way.”
“F*ck, this douchebag!!”
Ding Baoyi raised her hand as if she was about to smash the phone.
Yan Nian was flabbergasted as she hurriedly held onto her. “Sis, that’s my phone! Don’t smash it!!”
Ding Baoyi was so furious that her face had almost turned green with her lips trembling in rage.
“I am so mad! And I thought he truly liked me! Douchebag, I’m going to head over right now and beat him up!”
“Hang on a minute. If you head over now and confront him, he will definitely not admit to it. He might even say that you are just being unreasonable. I have an idea that can let you vent this anger in a justified manner.”
“What idea? Tell me now!”
Yan Nian smiled as craftiness and smugness flashed across her eyes. She leaned in close to Ding Baoyi’s ear and whispered to her.
…
Three minutes later, the two ladies walked back to their own seats to continue watching the show as if nothing had happened.
Chang Dong glanced at Yan Nian before looking secretly at Ding Baoyi.
The two women seemed normal and were even discussing the plot happily with one another. Chang Dong bit his lips silently.
Everyone began to leave as soon as the movie ended.
Just as they had left the theater, Ding Baoyi suddenly held onto her stomach. “Ah, my stomach hurts! I think I drank too much milk tea earlier!”
Yan Nian gave her a little push. “A lazy donkey takes a lot of time off for peeing and pooing. Go on, I will wait for you at the lobby with your boyfriend.”
Ding Baoyi nodded her head and ran off to the washroom, holding her stomach.
Yan Nian and Chang Dong walked toward the resting area in the lobby and stood in line.
