The two inside the shop turned to look over in his direction when they heard her name being called out.
He fixed his eyes on her at the very first instant. Alas, that did not make her happy.
This was because she knew that his ex-girlfriend was also called Niannian. There was one time when he stuck his mouth to her ear, calling out “Niannian” repeatedly in his inebriated, sexy voice.
His “Niannian” was not for the “Niannian” standing in front of him right now.
Pursing her lips, she stopped trying to snatch the scissors back. Instead, she said to her assistant with a stiff expression, “He Huaiguang, send the man away.”
She’s really angry this time.
She must have caught sight of Yu Lili hugging him.
He hurried over and tried to explain. “Listen to me,” he said, fixing his gaze on her back.
“Well, Mr. Jiang—”
Her assistant became exceptionally alert and obedient this time, following her instructions to the T. Lifting his arm to block him from drawing closer to her, he said to him, “Our boss here has asked you to leave. It’ll be in your best interest to take your leave now!”
Although the doctor might exude an overpowering presence, he could see that the woman did not want to see him at all right now.
Just as He Huaiguang finished his sentence, a razor-sharp, frigid look was cast in his direction, shooting right into him.
“You’re He Huaiguang, right?”
“Ah… yes. Wh-What is it?” The younger chap cleared his throat twice unconsciously.
Pulling his lips into an arc that hinted strongly of a fake smile, he said, “Your cousin is at the back.”
These six simple words were like a heavenly judgment.
Within the next second, the young lad took his leave speedily. As he made his way out, he told Yan Nian to take care of the matter herself.
Hey.
What kind of friend is he?!
She turned to look at her husband without any expression. Dipping her eyes low, she held a nonchalant expression as she remarked, “I’m busy. Hurry up and say what you want to say.”
Jiang Beiyuan: “She hugged me and I pushed her away the next second. I don’t like her.”
“You don’t have to explain to me!”
She waved her hand and walked to the cash register, making a show of wiping the desk. “I’m not bothered at all. We made a pact in the first place. We are not to interfere in each other’s lives even after we got married. You can do whatever you like out there, I don’t care.”
He followed her wherever she turned. Staring right into her, his eyes shone bright and clear. “Your face tells me that you care.”
“Heheh, you’re mistaken. I’m not bothered at all. Why should I be?”
She shrugged her shoulders in a grand display of innocence. To the man, though, it looked more like a disguise.
His eyes arched into a slight smile as his tone turned light and gay in response. Spouting it word by word, he told her, “You are jealous.”
“Jealous?”
She was apparently taken by surprise, and she broke into a string of chuckles.
“Why should I be jealous? I’m not having any dumplings right now 1 !”
“You are jealous right now.”
With his gaze locked on her face without blinking, he crossed over all the gardening equipment that were obstructing him and stepped right up to her.
The windows at his back reflected a bright glare that surrounded his face with a blurry hue. It was so glaring that she could not open her eyes.
But just as quickly, his broad frame blocked out the light directly before her.
With his expression, as well as his eyes, looking warm and gentle, he cupped her face with his two hands out of the blue. As if he was holding a precious baby, his thin lips gave a peck on her pinkish lips without warning.
“I’ve said that I’d be faithful.”
With his forehead leaning on hers, he rubbed his head against hers a few times. His eyes hinted of childlike delight.
“So I won’t do anything that’ll let you down.”
She blinked her eyes dumbly, her long eyelashes brushing against his thin eyelid.
He sighed lightly and repeated his action once more, rubbing his head against hers.
This time around, he covered her gaping lips with his mouth.
He had reckoned that he would never see her getting jealous over him.
Finally, she was starting to care about him.
