Chapter 433: Chapter 435 Demon Xing Kun
The Yellow Beast Dog sprinted all the way, its speed not slow at all.
Luo Shaoyan had to summon his rideable Fierce Dragon in order to keep up with the pace of the Yellow Beast Dog.
Up ahead was a field where some thatched cottages stood among the muddy farmland, probably the dwellings of farm slaves who planted crops.
The Yellow Beast Dog charged to the front of a thatched cottage and barked furiously into it.
Zhu Minglang, Luo Shaoyan, and Jing Yun approached and heard some noises coming from inside the cottage.
“Could the person inside please come out,” said Little Queen Jingyun with a serious face.
“Don’t hurt us, please don’t hurt us; we are just slaves here,” a woman’s voice came from inside the thatched cottage.
The woman, wearing a tattered hemp garment, had incredibly dirty hair, and her entire face was extremely dark.
She held a basket in her hands and walked out, bending her body in fear.
She was a slave woman; clearly terrified of the ferocious Yellow Beast Dog and the Fierce Dragon, she knelt before Zhu Minglang and the others, trembling all over.
“Has any convict passed by here?” Jing Yun asked.
“I just fainted from hunger; I don’t know what happened; I … I am so hungry, could you give me something to eat, please, I am really starving,” the slave woman slowly crawled over, begging Jing Yun.
Seeing her miserably pitiful state, Jing Yun hesitated for a while but still decided to give her some food.
But just as Jing Yun turned around, the farm woman suddenly pounced on Jing Yun like a jackal, her somewhat hunched body exploding with terrifying strength. Her dry hand, like wolf claws, reached for Jing Yun’s delicate and fair neck!
Jing Yun got a huge fright, never expecting a slave to attack her, especially when she was about to give her food.
Although Luo Shaoyan was somewhat on guard, he couldn’t summon his Dragon Beast in time.
Zhu Minglang had been observing coldly, and the moment the slave woman made her move, Zhu Minglang raised his hand. Several white Blade Feathers flew at incredible speed, cutting towards the arms of the slave woman!
Unable to withdraw in time, both of her hands were directly chopped off by these white feather blades.
Blood gushed out, and the slave woman’s face showed great shock as she scurried frantically towards the back of the thatched cottage.
She had only run a few steps when more white Blade Feathers flew out, nailing into the slave woman’s back like rivets, leaving her as mangled as a rotten persimmon!
The slave woman lay on the ground, convulsing, her head twisted to the side, her eyes filled with malice as she glared at Zhu Minglang as if she would not let go even in death.
“What a vicious slave; we try to help her, and she tries to harm us,” Luo Shaoyan said.
“She’s not a slave; the slaves who live here are inside,” Zhu Minglang pointed at the thatched cottage.
Confused, Luo Shaoyan stepped forward, pulled aside the cottage’s rudimentary door curtain of straw, and immediately retreated several steps, startled by the messy and disgusting scene inside.
There were several corpses in the thatched cottage.
From their clothing, they appeared to be the farm slaves here.
One of the female farm slaves had been stripped of her clothes, covered with a torn mat, her face of terror and pain still frozen on her ghastly face.
“This damned female villain, she killed the farm slaves here and then disguised herself as one of them!” Luo Shaoyan said angrily.
“Although death row prisoners are essentially trapped beasts in cages, they still possess very strong aggressiveness. It would be wise for you to be careful when dealing with these people,” Zhu Minglang said to Luo Shaoyan and Jing Yu.
Luo Shaoyan and Jing Yu were likely novices too, completely unaware of the dangers of this world.
The monsters are fierce and dangerous, the villains are cruel and cunning, and some people are even more terrifying than these demons.
“That was close, I almost got deceived by that death row prisoner,” Jing Yu said, frightened into a cold sweat.
“Regardless, we have managed to secure a prey,” Luo Shaoyan remarked.
…
Continuing on into the depths of the mountain, one could see many slaves along the way.
These slaves were dressed in tattered clothes with weathered skin, each carrying heavy stones on their backs, hauling the rock down the mountain.
They seemed emotionless, showing no reaction to outsiders passing by, just walking step by step.
The Yellow Beast Dog kept sniffing for the scent of the death row prisoners and eventually, this loyal and diligent Yellow Beast Dog discovered something else; it ran towards one of the quarries, barking frantically.
In the quarry, there were many slaves who, even without an overseer, did not dare to slack off. If they failed to deliver enough stones down the mountain, they would not get a single bite to eat; if they failed for two consecutive days, they would be dragged to feed the carnivorous Pterosaurs!
Upon seeing well-dressed individuals, the slaves dared not offend and consciously stepped back, their faces blank as if they lacked the ability to speak when conversed with.
“Why are they all mute?” Jing Yu said, puzzled.
“They must have been poisoned into silence; the Yan Clan doesn’t need them to be able to talk,” Luo Shaoyan explained.
“Woof woof!!!!”
The Yellow Beast Dog ran towards a stone harvesting cave, seemingly having caught the scent of a fugitive.
The three of them followed and were about to search the stone harvesting cave for that fugitive when a shadow, quick as a leopard, rushed at them and punched Luo Shaoyan’s Fierce Dragon, knocking it to the ground.
The Fierce Dragon couldn’t even get up, and Luo Shaoyan himself was sent flying.
Zhu Minglang halted, his eyes fixed on the dark figure, feeling a measure of puzzlement.
The tall and thin man with unkempt hair took out a portrait, glanced at Zhu Minglang, then at the picture, and slowly stretched into a spine-chilling smile.
“Killed two handsome young masters, only to find out after they were completely dead that their faces weren’t quite the same as the ones in the portrait. Kid, take a look, is the person in this picture you?” the tall, thin, disheveled man asked.
Luo Shaoyan retrieved his Fierce Dragon, and when he saw the tall, weird man, his face was immediately filled with horror.
Similarly, Jing Yu seemed to recognize this ragged and strange tall, thin man too, pointing at him and saying, “You are Xing Kun!”
“Yes, little girl, did I kill some of your relatives, or why would you still recognize me even though I look like this?” Xing Kun laughed, his smile bizarre and insincere!
Jing Yu did not answer, but instinctively retreated to stand behind Zhu Minglang.
“This guy is a thoroughbred killer, a demon lord, and it seems he also has some very disgusting habits. For a while, the major city-states of Neon Sea put up his wanted posters, and the relatives of those he murdered pooled together nearly three million gold just to see his head chopped off,” Luo Shaoyan said gravely to Zhu Minglang.
This was no ordinary serial killer; this was a true Demon Lord!
