Chapter 186: Chapter 58. The Sacred Area (1)
Lyhee got excited.
She was concerned that her Dungeon Master might get angry about the garden, which she made because of Gigantes. Surprisingly, not only did the master like it, but he also asked Lyhee to take care of the aftermath.
“Hehehe…”
Smiling, Lyhee flew around above Gigantes.
She was happy because her master assigned a task to her, which was a sign that he trusted her. The Dungeon Master looked for her instead of Krithli, and the fairy wondered if she was more favorable than the Dark Elf.
Lyhee thought that her master had finally recognized her true value, and the fairy could not help smiling.
“Little fairy! Be quiet!”
The Gigantes did not seem excited at all.
“What, why, how? Lyhee is not making any noise! Hehehe!”
“Get away from my head!”
“How dare you, you bald one! Huh! Lyhee is the master’s favorite fairy. You should be thankful that a fairy like me is staying on your head!”
“What a crazy fairy!”
“Did you just swear at Lyhee? Ugh… you mean, bald monster!”
Lyhee smacked the Gigantes’ head with her tiny hands.
The fairy was promoted, so she could not exercise physical punishments to other monsters. Despite their small size, her tiny hands carried quite a weight, and the Gigantes, frowning, shook its head.
“Bald! You’re going to be bald for the rest of your life! Ha, Lyhee will have to go and take care of the ‘aftermath,’ which is the assignment that the master has given her. The bald monster doesn’t know how important this task is! Hehehehe!”
“This fairy is out of her mind.”
Although she was assigned a task, Lyhee did not have a clue how to carry it out, so the fairy decided to make fun of the Gigantes first. The monster ignored Lyhee, and turned away.
“Hehehehe…”
Although she did not have any clue about her assignment, the fairy was still very happy.
All the awakened heroes, who were in Seoul, heard about the monsters’ sudden attack and the fight. Some of them even saw lightning and the Wings of Fire.
And the mana which was seeping out from the attack was so large and powerful that it was hard to not notice the attack.
The awakened heroes got curious about the attack, and they wanted to find out more information about it.
They immediately formed teams and went to investigate. When they came across piles of dead monsters, the heroes became speechless.
“It seems that they fought each other.”
“Not necessarily. If you take a look at the site where the fight took place, it seems that the first group of monsters died while they were fighting a single enemy. Don’t you think so?”
“Is it possible that one person can fight against such a large group of monsters?”
“Some said that they saw something like the ‘Curtain of Fire’ from a distance. They also witnessed many bolts of lightning. Only the savior has the power to use skills like that. I am sure that the savior wiped out the monsters.”
Many different opinions and interpretations popped up as the awakened heroes scrutinized the aftermath of the fierce battle. The most popular belief was that the savior fought the monsters. Only the savior was powerful enough to single-handedly fight against tens of thousands of monsters.
“I found a demon, but both of its eyes are gone.”
“Let’s keep its body for now.”
It was the first time that the awakened heroes had come across the dead body of a demon. All of the members of the team who went on the exploration got excited. The awakened heroes had used the dead monsters as ingredients or to improve their skills. A demon was a leader of monsters, and the awakened heroes became very excited about how great and useful its body would be.
Each member of the team started writing down the number and the types of monsters that he or she encountered as the team continued to investigate the scene. The records would be reported to their higher-ups.
After several minutes, something happened.
“…Cough!”
A few members of the team started coughing blood.
Their faces turned pale as though they were ill, and their hands and feet started to tremble.
There could only be one explanation for such a sudden change.
“Poison…!”
“What kind of poison is it? Is it from the dead bodies?”
“It has been two days since these monsters died. I don’t think the poison is coming from the bodies. Someone must have spread this poison on purpose.”
The poison was extremely deadly, and it was melting the skin of some of the monsters nearby.
Those who had fragile skin had already melted so much that the awakened heroes could not recognize what they were. As a result, the heroes could not discover the presence of poison from the bodies of the monsters.
The ground was completely contaminated with the poison, and no life would grow from this area.
“Ah!”
However, there was more than just poison.
Something suddenly attacked them, and the awakened heroes started to die.
“Monster! There is a monster underneath the ground!”
“Shit, they are poison goblins!”
Poison goblins fed on dead bodies and poisons, and they were known as the monsters of battle scenes. Furthermore, poison goblins were strongly territorial, so everyone avoided entering their territories.
The leader of the team bit his lips and spoke.
“Let us retreat. This place… has become the land of death.”
Lyhee massaged her shoulders.
“Ah, it’s such a pain. Cleaning up is harder than I thought.”
She returned to the forest and sorted out the honey buckets, which her honeybees had prepared.
The fairy then took the buckets that looked the most delicious. She slammed the rest of the buckets on the ground and summoned a small cup.
While her many honeybees were drowning in the discarded honey, Lyhee mixed the honey with water at the golden ratio. The fairy then drank the concoction right away.
“Ah, this is so good. The best honey water is the honey water that you drink after hard work.”
After drinking the honey water, Lyhee swiped her jaw.
“Cleaning up is a very broad term. I don’t think the master meant just the dead bodies. He must have wanted Lyhee to take care of other things, too. Now, hmm…”
The fairy was delighted when she was assigned this task, but she got a little disappointed when she arrived at the scene. The cleaning up task, which she was given, was rather vague. The fairy decided to set her own standards and carry out this job to her standards.
Lyhee decided that she would clean up everything that the master had left behind.
Slightly turning around, she looked at those who had been staring at her.
“Hi there, little angel! What is your name?”
“Hasi.”
The baby angel’s tongue was short and her pronunciations were inaccurate. In addition, she was only a bit larger than Lyhee but had more wings.
Lyhee nodded.
“Hasi? Ah-ha! You’re Hashi!”
When the fairy recognized the angel, Hashi flew to Lyhee.
“Hehehe. Do you want to go with Lyhee?”
“Yee.”
When Hashi made a gesture that she wanted to go with Lyhee, the fairy smiled.
“Fine. Not everyone can follow me, but Lyhee will let you. Where should we go? Hmmm… Ah! Let’s go and see the humans. Watching humans is very fun. Hehehe… And it will be fun to make fun of Rose and Roy. Aren’t you excited?”
“Yeee.”
“Hehehe.”
The fairy forgot about the cleaning up, which her master had asked her to do, as soon as she saw the baby angel.
The moment the two met marked the beginning of the day which humans remembered as a nightmare of “the flying fairy and baby angel.”
***
I laid Kim Youra and Kim Minji down and looked at the two carefully.
Kim Youra seemed to be fully recovered on the outside. She did not look like a cripple at all. Instead, she was born again as a pure lady, and anyone who saw her would think of her as a saint.
On the other hand, Kim Minji completely lost her lower half, and she was barely hanging on.
“Humans cannot live without their lower halves,” I thought.
Her wounds had healed, so I could not attach her bodies together. The only option that I had was remaking the lower half of her body from scratch. However, I doubted if it was worth my time and effort.
“Kim Youra has become the saint of harmony. And I also saved her sister, so it is not my fault if she dies again,” I thought.
I kept my promise; I let Kim Minji, who was almost dead, live again. And if she died again, that was not part of the promise.
However, I sensed something weird.
“Tashumal.”
I called Tashumal to ask about this sensation that I felt. I did not know what it was, and I called the angel, hoping that she would perhaps know about it.
“What is the matter?”
Tashumal showed up. Lately, she had been busy with taking care of the baby angels. I went straight to the point and asked my question to the tired angel.
“Do you feel anything special?”
“Are you talking about this saint? Hmm. Yes, I do feel something different. It seems that she is not just a saint.”
“I’m not talking about the saint. I’m talking about her sister.”
“Sister…? Do you mean the human without legs?”
When I nodded, the angel fixed her eyes on Kim Minji.
Then, she frowned.
“This is… strange. She is no saint, but she is as holy as a saint. To be precise, she is very similar to her sister.”
“What do you mean?”
“It means that their holy power is somehow connected. I guess that not only their holy power but also their lives are somehow connected. Such a connection is more efficient and makes the two stronger. I have never seen anyone connected to another like this, so I cannot make any definite conclusion though. However, if I am right, both sisters would make quite strong saints. Unfortunately, the two have to close to each other. Otherwise, their strength would weaken.”
The two sisters were an unexpected gift.
Thanks to Tashumal’s explanation, I now understood what the weird sensation was.
I had a hard time finding out the cause of such a sensation because Kim Minji’s holy power was very weak and similar to that of her sister’s.
The two could be very useful, but the condition to keep them strong was very tricky. Despite having two separate bodies, the two sisters shared the same life, and they always had to be close to each other.
“Can you train them?”
I asked Tashumal if she could help them grow because I could not teach the two sisters how to use holy power. The angel was the only one in my dungeon who could teach such things.
“My Dungeon Master, I believe that you will be a better teacher than I. I don’t know why, but they have more than just holy power. The two sisters also have mana. It is impossible for one to possess both the holy power and mana at the same time… In fact, the younger sister has more mana than the older does, and the older sister has more holy power than the younger does. It seems that their two separate bodies are meant for different tasks.”
Since the sisters also possessed mana, I would be able to train them.
“I will make her new legs,” I thought.
Since I realized that the two sisters shared the same life, I decided to make legs for Kim Minji, the younger sister.
It would be cumbersome, but I would have to tell Gaparam and Oswen to make legs for her.
“Besides this issue, my Dungeon Master, I heard that you recently caught a count.”
“I killed Martin.”
“Then… what are you going to do with his dungeon?”
“I don’t have any plans, yet. Why do you ask?”
Tashumal became more serious. After a moment of silence, the angel spoke carefully.
“Can you… give that dungeon to angels?”
“Are you asking me to claim the dungeon as a sacred area?”
“You are correct. I have been watching angels all around the world, and I found out that they have been isolated. Unable to get help from others, the isolated angels died from the demons’ attack. I cannot watch that happen any longer. If there is a place where all angels can come together, we can stand against the demons. Ah, of course, when I say demons, I mean other demons besides you.”
It seemed that she abruptly made up the last part, but I did not pick on her.
“If the benefits from giving the dungeon to the angels outweigh those from keeping it myself, I will consider handing it to you.”
I was not sent from above, and I would not give a dungeon to someone else out of hospitality.
There was one imminent benefit from giving the dungeon to the angels. Once declared as a sacred place, the dungeon will keep other demons on check. However, such a benefit was not significantly better than those from my keeping the dungeon.
Tashumal spoke with mixed feelings.
“Karmiel, one of the seven Seraphs, will come to Earth soon… She will come to purify this world herself. We need a place to greet her.”
