Chapter 204: Chapter 64. The Royal Observatory of Greenwich (3)
It was an emergency for the entire mankind.
The leaders of all countries in the world gathered. Had it been some other time, such a large meeting would take a long period of time and much administrative effort to organize. However, due to the gravity of the situation, the meeting was quickly organized in just a few days.
Not only the leaders, but powerful groups which had never come out to the public also came to this meeting. Such groups included the Bilderberg Club, Trilateral Commission, triad, and mafia.
Other secretive groups, such as the Knights Templar, Freemasonry, and Illuminati, showed up, too. They had been the most secretive groups in the history of mankind, and their appearance to this meeting grabbed many people’s attention.
Such a meeting was unprecedented and would never take place again.
The meeting took place in the United Kingdom in a very serious manner. The participants gathered around a round table. Next to Queen Mary was Lieutenant General Carls, and other leaders were seated in their respective positions.
“Are we now the Knights of the Round Table?”
Don Golenom, the godfather of the mafia, snickered. He was seated far away from Queen Mary, and next to him were the members of the triad.
In contrast, the Knights Templar, Freemasonry, and Illuminati had the honor to seat close to the queen. The mafia must have found such a seating arrangement uncomfortable because it separated those who were considered criminals from the rest. Don Golenom could not help but mock the stupidity of the queen. Mankind had to unite against the common threat, yet the queen was causing separation.
“It is odd to see your heavy ass here.”
Lee Chaohsiung, the leader of the triad, talked to Don Golenom without even turning around. Perhaps he could be talking to someone else, but Don Golenom thought that the leader of the triad was talking to him because nobody around them was as powerful as he was.
“I smell something valuable, something that you cannot buy or sell.”
The mafia head smiled, showing his golden teeth. Capitalism had come to an end, and those who commanded the world with money withered.
Now was the time where physical strength was power.
Don Golenom was sure that something that would change the world order would happen in this meeting. To begin with, the participants of the meeting, although there were only a hundred of them, were the most influential and powerful people on Earth.
“You’re such a snob. I am here because of ‘him.’ ”
“Are you talking about the demon archduke?”
Lee Chaohsiung nodded.
The subjects of this meeting were the appearance of the archduke and the gathering of demons at the Royal Observatory.
Lee Chaohsiung continued to talk as though he was talking to himself.
“When it was not so long after dungeons appeared, my younger brother Laipeng and mercenaries attacked the dungeon in Korea, which was the only place that one could find treasures. And few survived. No, I thought that everyone died.”
“Were there any survivors?”
“There was one. It was a mercenary from the United States. His body was messed up and he was almost out of his mind when he was found. But the mercenary was quite good, so I made him prosthetic arms and hired him as one of my guards.”
“Ah, that man over there, who looks like a moron.”
Don Golenom turned around and looked at the guard.
The guard, who was wearing prosthetic arms and legs, was standing behind the leader of the triad. His Mohican hairstyle grabbed attention. Only one guard was allowed per leader in this meeting. The fact that he was chosen as the guard for Lee Chaohsiung implied that this man was a very strong soldier. However, the guard did not look normal, as he constantly drooled.
“He responded to the montage on the invitation.”
Queen Mary sent out invitations along with a montage, which was the man in the flame. Don Golenom could not remember the montage exactly, but he was able to remember that there was a montage.
“Then…”
“That guy, called the archduke, might be in charge of the dungeon in Korea.”
“North Korea?”
“South Korea.”
Don Golenom swept his jaw.
“Korea. Korea…”
He was surprised that Lee found out that the archduke was the owner of the dungeon in Korea. Such a piece of information was very valuable, and it might serve as a useful weapon in this meeting.
And the mafia head immediately realized that Lee Chaohsiung was giving him the information because he wanted to collaborate with him. The leaders of the world came to this meeting, and Don Golenom wanted to separate foes from friends before the meeting began.
The Mafia slightly patted Lee Chaosiung’s back, which was a sign of an agreement. Thus, the alliance was formed.
Soon, everyone was seated and Queen Mary coughed quietly.
“Thank you everyone for coming to this meeting.”
The queen smiled gently, but Don Golenom founded the smile hypocritical. Of course, the mafia head knew that the queen was the most powerful figure in the United Kingdom, but her smile looked somewhat awkward to him.
“This meeting will decide the fate of mankind. It is a great opportunity for us to eliminate the cancer cells, which has spread throughout the world.”
The invitations that the queen had sent out only contained hints that something would take place in the Royal Observatory of Greenwich.
“When you say cancer cells, do you mean monsters?”
The President of the United States spoke. Then the queen shook her head.
“I’m talking about the master of the monsters. Don’t you all know about demons?”
“Then…”
“The demons are gathering.”
“…!”
Most of the people in the room looked surprised and opened their eyes wide.
However, the three secretive groups, including the Knights Templar, remained calm as though they had already known about the gathering.
“Are they even humans?” Don Golenom thought while clicking his tongue.
The members of the three secretive groups had not revealed any emotions so far, like robots.
Then the President of Russia spoke.
“Where did you get this information?”
“…please keep whatever I say from now as top secret. We don’t have much time.”
Queen Mary warned the participants. When most of them nodded, she continued to speak.
“The man in the montage which was on the invitation gave me information. He also told me that he was a demon archduke.”
“And you want me to buy that?”
“I am sure that he was an archduke or something as powerful as one. He was so powerful that even our Lieutenant General Carls could not confront him.”
“Lieutenant General Carls, even he couldn’t?”
Lieutenant General Carls was an awakened hero who was recognized worldwide.
The participants of the meeting could not believe that a powerful awakened hero like Carls could not do anything against the man who called himself an archduke.
Queen Mary reminisced the incident and frowned.
“And the Knights Templar themselves had confirmed this.”
At the same time, the leader of the Knights Templar spoke.
“I can read the history of a place. In other words, I can see whatever that has happened in a particular place. If I cannot recall the history of the place, it means that a supernatural being visited that place. And I could not read the history of the Buckingham Palace.”
The leader of the Knights Templar was a strange-looking man, wearing a thin silver armor and wielding a sword. He looked both young and old at the same time. No one in the room could guess his age.
“Does a skill like that even exist? And just because you cannot read the history, it doesn’t mean an archduke visited that place.”
The General of the Army of Australia spoke up. Australia suffered the least from monsters, and they were able to strengthen their military forces. Then the leader of the Knights Templar looked at the general’s eyes indifferently.
“I told you that I can read the history of a place, but this skill can be applied to humans, too. I can see everything that has ever happened in this place, and I can also see the filthy stuff that you did on the plane. I hope you had a good time on the plane.”
“…”
The general looked uncomfortable and remained silent.
He did not suspect that there were secret cameras or mics installed in the plane. Before the general got onboard, the plane was searched with cutting-the-edge detectors and unique grade mana detectors.
“We, the Knights Templar, are after the demons. We could read all of the demons except the archdukes, and we believe that that makes them the most dangerous demons.”
“I agree.”
“Me, too.”
The leaders of the Freemasonry and Illuminati nodded in agreement as though they had seen other archdukes in the past, even though no archduke was known except Ariel Diablo.
Queen Mary continued quietly.
“And we have other evidence that the man who showed up was an archduke. It is his name, Randalf. We ran into that name in Korea.”
Don Golenom gulped.
He thought that the link between the archduke and the dungeon in Korea could be a useful weapon for him. However, he was surprised that many of the participants had already known the connection.
“Please welcome Kim Yongwoo, the guild master of the Guild of Heaven’s Will from Korea.”
“The Guild of Heaven’s Will… I have heard about it.”
Everyone in the room had heard about the guild before because this guild had accomplished much more than any other guilds in the world. Unfortunately, the guild could not protect Korea from monsters and demons.
Kim Yongwoo was behind Queen Mary.
He looked unsatisfied and nodded quickly.
“Did you know Randalf Bruciel?”
When Queen Mary asked this question, Kim Yongwoo frowned.
“Don’t speak the name so impolitely. He is our savior, and he saved Korea. Don’t you dare compare him to anything like the demons…”
“Don’t you think that he is too powerful to be a regular awakened hero? I heard that some members of your guild even doubted if Randalf was a human.”
“Of course, he is human! It’s just that he’s not normal like the others. Just like how awakened heroes have different strengths, Randalf was in a different league. I am quite uncomfortable to be here, but I decided to come to this meeting to correct the misunderstanding. Queen Mary, please don’t forget the purpose of my visit.”
Kim Yongwoo sounded somewhat rude, but Queen Mary kept smiling.
The man believed in Randalf, and his belief was unconditional. He looked as though he knew a secret that everyone else did not know.
Don Golenom could empathize with Kim Yongwoo.
The man who showed up in Buckingham Palace could have just had the same name, Randalf, as the man whom Kim Yongwoo believed in. In fact, it was quite likely that only the names were the same. However, the mafia head could not understand the queen and why she was constantly questioning Kim Yongwoo. Don Golenom wondered what made her so confident.
And if she was correct, he wondered who Randalf Bruciel really was.
At the same time, he found it odd that Randalf, if he were a demon, was considered a savior to some people.
Kim Yongwoo’s belief seemed to be zealous. But the man was the leader of one of the strongest and well-known guilds on Earth. Don Golenom could not fathom how anyone could make the leader of such a guild believe in him.
Don Golenom thought about possible scenarios, and when he thought of one, he got chills all over his body.
“This is the worst fraud!” the mafia head thought.
