Chapter 240: Episode 76. The System (3)
In the past, Adonis displayed the Seven Sins in the Auction of Devildom, and he had bidders compete for the collection. Although some of the collections were left behind, I ended up buying everything that appeared in the auction. I wanted to get the entire collection, so I offered a deal to Adonis, but he refused it.
Since then, I had no other way to get the rest of the collection. However, through this conquest, I could secure the entire collection.
“One is missing,” I thought.
I had Pride, Greed, Lust, Rage, Envy, and Indolence in my hand, but I was missing Gluttony.
However, that was okay. My Infinity Armor could replace Gluttony.
Rage was a sword, Greed, a pair of gloves, Indolence, cloak, Gluttony, an armor, Pride, earrings, Lust, a belt, and Envy, a pair of shoes.
When I wore all of the Seven Sins, a strange force started to stir inside me.
[You wore all of the Seven Sins. You just learned a new skill, Destruction of Power (God).]
[The Seven Sins were created to kill the gods. The collection contains the power that can kill the gods.]
I clenched my fists hard. I had always wondered how the Hell Lord could kill a god. According to the new skill that I learned, he planned to degrade the gods by destroying their powers and fight on an equal ground.
I stared at Destruction of Power. Soon, its explanation showed up.
Name: Destruction of Power (God)
Explanation: This skill permanently destroys one of the opponent’s powers. It cannot be used twice on the same opponent. This skill exists for the sole purpose of degrading the gods. The user must sacrifice one of the Seven Sins collection every time they use this skill.
I may use this skill for only seven times at most, but that was not a disadvantage for me. I was only going to use this collection to fight Death Bringer, and I could terminate his most annoying power with this skill.
This was a game-changer. The Hell Lord must have experienced how hard it was to combat the powers that the gods had, and perhaps that was the reason that he created this collection and skill.
“If he could successfully revive,” I thought.
Had the Hell Lord successfully revived, he could have really killed many gods.
Looking at the Seven Sins, I could imagine how much the Hell Lord hated the gods.
Shaking my head, I spread my wings.
I reached one of my goals, so I needed to move on to the final one.
I quickly soared to the sky and stood in front of the giant door.
“The system is behind this door,” I thought.
I put both my hands on the door.
And I pushed it as hard as I could.
Boom!
The door resisted.
“Is there a key for it?” I thought.
I frowned, thinking that there would not be such a key.
If there was one, someone would be holding it, and they could have easily manipulated the system.
Death Bringer, the Demon God, created the system, so I believed that he did not assign anyone to take care of it. I also thought that sneaking in was impossible.
There must be some sort of sign that could let me through.
“Open.”
I tried to use Kotodama. My words were effective to not only living things but also non-living things to a certain extent.
[Status confirmed as a god. Powers confirmed. Allowed to enter.]
A message popped up.
I became puzzled and lost in thoughts. Then something happened.
Booom!
The door started to open noisily.

It was very bright behind the door, but there was nothing.
“Is this the inside of the system?” I thought.
I was not surprised that only the gods or those who were allowed by the gods were permitted to enter this space. However, it was completely empty, and I did not know what to do.
Gustarte remained silent, and so did Diablo. The two also did not know anything about what was inside the system.
[System – a group of materials, which are collected to realize necessary functions. Positive connotation.]
When I was thinking about the meaning of the system, the answer appeared in front of me.
Then I nodded. I realized what this space was used for.
This space gave me an answer. All of the information was here, and this space was used to organize them.
Through this space, the gods created the basic rules for the game, and Adonis made his skill.
I thought about some of the questions that I had.
“Randalf Bruciel,” I thought.
I wanted to see how the system thought of me.
This time, the system did not answer in words.
Instead, a clone of myself appeared in front of me on a screen.
It was a memory that showed my entire life.
“I had parents, too,” I thought.
Every demon had parents, and I was a demon after all.
For the first time, I saw my parents. They were mediocre demons. Tired of wars, they fled to seek refuge.
When the baby was born, the two demons smiled. However, the happy moment did not last long. Wars broke out everywhere in Devildom, and the parents could not cope with the wars.
As a result of the war, the parents died. Despite their deaths, the baby received help from others and survived. He had to go through many struggles, though. The demon was used as someone’s experiment, someone’s slave, and someone’s shield.
The demon became stronger as he grew up. Defeating other strong demons, he got famous. I remembered everything afterward.
I rewound the memory to watch the first part, where I was born and grew up. It was interesting and surprising that I, too, like other demons, had a normal childhood for a short period of time.
The memory played so realistically that I felt as though I was re-living my life. I could even feel the touches when others touched me in the movie. Though a short period of time, I felt like a baby in their arms.
I watched the memory five times and shook my head. I now knew my parents’ faces, but they were gone for good. I could not go back in time. Even if I could, I was merely a baby and could not have changed anything.
“It is the storage for memories,” I thought.
This place remembered everything, even what I could not remember.
“I know what I need to do,” I thought.
My job was to destroy this system.
I took out a seed, which looked like a human embryo but much smaller.
It was the Seed of Creation, a complete mystery.
It would give birth to something, although I did not know what that would be.
By planting something that even the system could not give an answer to, I sought to cause a terrible error to it or even break it down.
I put the Seed of Creation on the ground.
The seed immediately started digging through the ground.
Then something happened.
[Unknown.]
[Error.]
[Danger.]
[Error.]
In a second, I was surrounded by pitch darkness. They were all letters. Words such as errors and dangers showed up and covered everything around me.
I turned around without any regrets.
Had I had more time, I could have tried to learn about the truth of this world, but I was short on time.

Boom!
Bang! Boom!
The giant door started to collapse.
Then it struck the castles which the Spirits of Darkness had created, and everything disappeared.
The system collapsed. The divine power, which had been concentrated, spread out to the world. There was so much of it that even I was awed. This type of divine power was similar to that of Death Bringer’s, and it was something that I could not absorb. As soon as it was released, the divine power moved slowly towards Death Bringer.
“This is how it works,” I thought.
I was confident that a large portion of Death Bringer’s power was gone.
However, should this persisted, the divine power which had now been released to the world would eventually return to Death Bringer, and the Demon God would recover once again.
It was a matter of time, so I needed to get back as soon as possible.
I took treasures from the storage that the Spirits of Darkness had created.
Then I went to the World of the Spirits of Fire through the interdimensional crack which was still open.
Garatsh was in front of the crack, watching what was going on in the World of the Spirits of Darkness. The spirit looked shocked when I appeared from the crack.
“Is this all you?”
“It wasn’t hard. How much time has passed by?”
“It has only been five days.”
I doubted that it took five days to kill Adonis.
I suspected that the time went by differently in the system. Had I waited even longer in the system, I could have been delayed much more.
By then, a war would have started in Devildom.
I needed to hurry.
“Keep your promise, Garatsh.”
“…a promise is a promise. Fine. Open the storage. Take whatever you want.”
Garatsh gave up. However, I wiped out the Spirits of Darkness, and he seemed to respect me for that.
Following a Spirit of Fire, I headed towards their storage.
There, I took useful armors and weapons, and I put them in my magic pouch.
Some of them were of legend grades.
“They might be helpful,” I thought.
I nodded, thinking that these armors and weapons would be helpful in the upcoming war. My demons and monsters would be much stronger with them.
“None of these are for me,” I thought.
It was a shame that I could not find things that matched me. However, I decided to move on.
I got the Seven Sins, a collection that consisted of seven items. I did not need anything else.
I took almost half of the giant storage and came out.
“Are you going to kill the god?”
Garatsh seemed to remember what I had told him before I went to conquer the World of the Spirits of Darkness.
“Yes.”
“You might be able to.”
Garatsh did not disagree. He seemed to be amazed at how I wiped out the Spirits of Darkness in just five days. The spirit’s eyes were shining.
“When you’re done with your business, come back. I want to maintain a good relationship with you.”
I wondered if I could ever come back. No one could predict the future.
I nodded and turned around.
The gamble was successful.
The system was indeed located in the World of the Spirits of Darkness, and I managed to destroy it.
After the system was destroyed, the divine power which Death Bringer had concentrated got released to the ground. It was a large amount of power, so I suspected that Death Bringer was suffering from the loss.
I had to go back and finish him before he recovered.
A long time ago, the Demon God suggested a game.
I participated, but he viewed all of the participating demons as his tools. They were part of his grand experiment.
And I did not like how the Demon God treated the demons. Although he was a god, I was not his puppet. I had my free will, and nothing in this world could replace me.
I wanted to use this opportunity to teach the Demon God a lesson.
“I am the final winner,” I thought.
The tables had turned, and the final battle awaited me.

A war began.
The Hell Lord’s army had about five million soldiers.
However, the other side had barely fifty thousand.
We were outnumbered. In addition, demons were not used to defending castles or walls.
There were many strong beings in Devildom, and mere walls could not even hold for a few seconds.
“You are an insult to demons. You have forgotten about your king. I, Ariel Diablo, will erase all of you. Repent your sins and die.”
Ariel was wearing an armor and ivory sword made of Balrogs’ bones.
Behind the archduke were hundreds of silver knights in formation.
Boom! Bang!
The war started. Millions of demons and monsters clashed. Screams were heard and blood was spilled everywhere. Death Bringer’s army was indeed very strong. Not only was it large in number, but its soldiers were also mostly high demons.
The demons’ ranks were determined by their strength. Therefore, the demons in Death Bringer’s army were above average.
“Hold until the emperor returns!”
Oswen also participated in the war.
The blacksmith fought alongside roughly fifty homunculi that Gaparam had created.
Homunculi had tremendous strength. They simply held their enemies’ heads and pulled them out.
Fierce combats continued in other parts of the battlefield. Death Bringer’s army struck like a tsunami, but the defenders managed to safeguard strategically important locations and continued to resist.
The giant mirror which was hanging on top of the castle was canceling curses. It was guarded by ten thousand soldiers.
The enemies knew about the mirror, too. They started concentrating their efforts on the mirror.
The defenders made through a day. However, there was no time to rest. The number of defenders reduced quickly, but there were still way too many enemies. They knew that at this pace, they would eventually lose.
In addition, the Hell Lord, the strongest of the army, had not participated yet.
The defenders were determined. Even though their loss was evident, they were not going to let their enemy take the victory so easily.
On the second day, when the Sun was high up in the sky, the Hell Lord appeared.
