Chapter 32: Scumbag Scola, Practice Magic!
When Anna wrote down John’s grades on the paper, her cheeks were flushed under her bright red hair.
It was the first time she had seen such a talented student!
She began to worry.
Did Greensford have what it takes to teach him well?
Was she even qualified to teach John?
To be more precise, she was really afraid that this genius would be delayed.
Not to mention Greensford, even Anna herself might not know enough to teach John.
With John’s talent, she was afraid that she would not have anything to teach him in a few days.
“Alright, here are your results for this test.”
Anna smiled at John and handed him the test form.
“Follow me to find Principal Kurkas later. He will definitely be shocked at your results.”
In the entire city-state of Gustav, there were probably only two people who could teach John.
One was the battle mage, Cook, and the other was the current Principal, Kurkas, who was known as the top fighter in Gustav.
Anna could not tolerate it. John’s talent may be buried just like that!
“Alright, Miss Anna.”
After receiving the test results, John was not surprised by Anna’s words.
After all, his talent was unprecedented even amongst dragons, let alone humans.
Surely, his magical talent must have attracted a lot of attention, right?
It was inevitable that he would have to meet the Principal in private, when he saw the envious expression on Tisch’s face in the distance.
John understood that he was one step closer to achieving his plan.
Just when the two of them were about to leave, they were visited by two others.
It was Scola and Cook.
Seeing these two, Anna’s expression changed.
As the Duke’s son and Cook’s model student, Scola has always been arrogant and despotic in school.
He has probably told Cook about Anna’s behavior in class yesterday.
However, even Cook couldn’t do anything overboard at the moment.
With a smile on his face, Cook stopped the two of them and said,
“As expected of the person called by the Principal, someone who can surpass even the first generation of the Grand Magister. Is your affinity really so high?”
“Mr. Cook, let’s get straight to the point. Everyone is waiting.”
As soon as Scola’s words fell, a commotion instantly erupted around them.
“Scola! Don’t you dare not go up just because he has a hundred percent affinity! You’re the Duke’s son!”
“I’m not criticizing you, Scola, but you’re already a third-year advanced student, and yet you’re still bullying someone who has just entered the academy. Have some pride!”
“Exactly. You’re a great lightning magician, and here you are bullying a newbie who hasn’t even learned magic. Isn’t it a little embarrassing? The Principal has his eyes on him!”
Scola frowned and looked at everyone around him in confusion.
He had told these people that they should be on his side.
Moreover, they had all been playing with him since young.
Why were they all siding John now?
After all, how could he have known that these students, who he had informed in advance to help him, had long been fascinated by Amy’s looks and strength?
They knew very well.
If they wanted to get to know Amy, they had to get her brother’s consent. If they offended John, their chances to meet Amy would be gone. Just the idea that they had to relinquish their chances with Amy was enough to make them reject Scola’s request!
In their eyes, John was their future brother-in-law!
Now was the time for them to show him how much they supported him!
What was the point of backstabbing a brother twice? For a cute and beautiful girl?
Seeing this, Scola’s already sullen mood became even heavier.
He was a noble!
How could he be humiliated by his friends in public?
This was the first time Scola had experienced something like this in his life!
But John would soon experience these feelings.
The goal of today was to humiliate John, the one who was called a genius by others.
“What are you trying to do? Let me tell you, Principal Kurkas already knows. We are preparing to go to his office. Even you, Cook, should know the consequences of being negligent, right?”
Anna had already sent her followers to look for Kurkas. If all goes according to plan, he should know by now.
And now, even if she had angered Cook, who was known as the best fighter under the Principal, she would not be scared at all!
This was because John still had a very long path ahead in magic. He should not stop learning because of such a trivial matter.
Seeing all these, John felt no fear. He could roughly understand why the two of them visited.
If it was to create an opportunity for him to show off, he did not mind teaching this Duke’s son a lesson.
Hearing this, Cook only laughed out loud.
“I’ve long heard that Anna usually pays more attention to talented students. Today, I can see that it is really the case. Yesterday, Scola also mentioned that Anna felt that Scola’s strength was inferior to John’s?”
Hearing this, Anna frowned slightly. She could finally understand the other party’s intentions.
“If you want to have a real battle, it’s not time yet. John has just finished his test and needs to rest for a period of time. If there’s nothing else, we have to go see Principal Kurkas.”
After saying this, Anna tried to pull John and leave, walking in the direction of the Principal’s office.
What a joke! Even if John was a genius, he had only been exposed to magic for a day!
To let a complete newbie fight against a great mage who had studied for three years, Scola, in a real battle.
This was simply a fantasy!
However, Anna discovered one thing. She could not pull John!
At first, she was a bit shocked, but then she thought about it.
As an Earth Knight, it was very normal for Anna, a Magister, to be unable to move John.
“Miss Anna, since the other party wants to spar with me, why should I run away?”
After John said this, everyone’s jaw dropped and they were clearly shocked.
Even Tisch was starring at John from afar in disbelief.
At the thought of John’s powerful physique, Anna straightened her back and said to the two of them,
“Scola, you should know that John’s physique is at the level of an Earth Knight. You’re not his match. Therefore, don’t waste our time here. Come and challenge John after you’ve reached the level of an archmage.”
Initially, Anna thought that Scola would restrain himself after hearing her words.
After all, an Earth Knight corresponded to an archmage.
In a one-on-one battle, as long as a mage had not reached the level of an archmage by improving his physical fitness, he would be at a disadvantage when facing a knight.
Scola would definitely know that. Therefore, it was the best choice to let the other party realize that this was no easy feat and to retreat.
“Thank you for the reminder.”
“But Miss Anna, when did I mention the actual combat test?”
Scola let out a mischievous laugh, and then said something that made everyone present feel that he was shameless.
“I just want to spar with Junior John in real magic combat!”
