Chapter 29: Intimacy
A new day arrived. When he woke up in the morning, David did not see the familiar sunlight. Instead, he saw dark clouds.
The sky above his area was overcast. There was not a single ray of light to be seen. It was as if the black clouds were threatening to overwhelm the place.
The winds became very strong, causing the trees to sway in all directions and branches to fly everywhere.
David came to the beach and felt that there was a rise in sea level.
Due to the waves, all the fish in the fish baskets tied to the trees had escaped.
He braved the winds to retrieve the fish baskets to prevent them from being blown away.
The strong winds today might disrupt his daily plans.
But on second thought, in the face of such harsh weather, wasn’t it perfect for him to strengthen his body?
In the past, there were many such scenes in films and television programs on Earth.
In order to strengthen his body, the male protagonist ties a heavy object to himself and climbs the mountain. He would get into an air squat under the waterfall and run against the wind.
There were no mountains or waterfalls in his area, but there were strong winds.
David returned to his lodging with the fish baskets. The wind was so strong that the cages containing Luca, the pheasant, and the unknown bird egg were all blown away.
Luca even whimpered in the cage, as if it had been treated unfairly.
David walked up and fastened them to a stump.
Looking into Luca’s aggrieved eyes, he snapped, “Behave yourself. I have other things to do.”
After confirming that it would not be thrown out, Luca wagged its tail at him and laid down in the cage again.
David composed himself and faced the wind. The flesh on his whole face trembled from the force of the wind hitting him.
The people in the livestream were all very puzzled. They had no idea what he wanted to do.
“Why isn’t he hiding behind a tree to rest and conserve his strength in such a strong wind? What does he want to do?”
“David has always been unpredictable. Who knows what he’s up to?”
“This wind is at least a fresh gale, right? If it were me, I wouldn’t be able to bear it.”
“It’s like this on the island. The weather will change all of a sudden. If you’re not careful, you’ll fall sick easily.”
“You don’t say. David looks so frail. I can’t believe he hasn’t fallen sick since he got on the island.”
“Not only has he never been sick, he can also treat illnesses.”
Just as the viewers were discussing animatedly, his body suddenly moved.
He raised his hands, strode out and started running against the wind.
In the beginning, his body seemed to be obstructed by a huge force.
He could only muster his muscles and move forward bit by bit.
Every step was extremely difficult. Most importantly, he could not open his eyes.
The wind blew, bringing with it some seawater. When they landed on his body, they carried a hint of coolness.
Not only was the wind blowing, the surrounding temperature had also dropped.
The audience instantly understood his intentions. So he was training himself.
“David is such a hardworking boy. I love him.”
“I haven’t seen him stop since he got on the island. He works out every day.”
“He’s the most hardworking person I’ve ever met.”
“The person above, don’t be ridiculous, okay? Are the others not working hard enough? How many people on the island are weak? Isn’t it because things aren’t going as smoothly for them compared to him?”
“Hehe, other people’s fans, don’t come here and be jealous, okay? David is capable and prepared. That’s why everything went so smoothly for him.”
“That’s right. The person you like can’t make it and you have to come here to put another person down. I can smell the jealousy even through the screen.”
David ran against the wind. From being challenged initially, he slowly became proficient. He could stride out in a very short time.
Although it was very different from normal circumstances, this was the kind of resistance he wanted.
With every step he took, he could hear the system’s voice.
“Physical strength+1.”
“Physical strength+1.”
…
Ding!
“Congratulations Host on your physical strength increase. Current level: LV 4.”
As his physical strength improved, his speed in the wind also grew, and the energy in his body also rose.
It was obvious that his physical strength was constantly changing.
Both his hands and legs were filled with muscles.
At this moment, the loose flesh on his abdomen became even tighter and was filled with strength.
The storm lasted over an hour, David also persevered for more than an hour.
The dark clouds dispersed, the wind receded, and the sun shone again.
David felt the heat of the sun, and felt that he hadn’t had enough.
The strength in his body filled him with energy.
He waved his fist. “I can fight ten people now!”
Seeing how confident he was, the fans were especially happy.
David swung his fists for a while, then picked up his club and started exercising again.
The morning passed by very simply.
After eating some meat and fruit, he sat on a rock and started making shoes.
He had already done half of it yesterday. Now, he only had the last bit left. It wouldn’t take long.
Soon, a pair of shoes made of hemp rope was ready.
He put on his shoes. The bottom was very hard, but it was also very sturdy. The length was just right.
There was a long length left for the top that was wrapped around his feet to prevent the shoe from falling off.
When he was done, he got up and stepped on the ground.
He had to admit that with shoes, it was indeed much more comfortable!
He glanced at the fire that had been long extinguished and decided to now make more items to be carried on him.
The last time he went out, he had brought a basket and handed it to the group of people.
He still had to make some storage bags to hang on his waist to make it convenient for him to store food and carry tools.
His Weaving Skill had reached Level 5, and he would reach Level 10 soon if he continued on.
Therefore, he did not waste any time or the materials that he had found and started working slowly.
While he was doing his work seriously, he did not notice that the unknown bird egg in the distance had suddenly cracked open.
Something turned inside but stopped moving within seconds.
Luca, who was lying not far away from the egg, heard the sound. It turned his head and saw a crack. The egg even moved.
It immediately propped itself up, and a look of horror appeared in its eyes as it hissed.
David heard the sound and looked back at Luca. He grunted, “I just gave you something to eat. Are you hungry already?”
“Sss, sss, sss, sss…” Luca cried out in fear.
“I’ll give you food when I’m done. Be quiet for now.” David was too focused on his task to pay any attention to it.
Luca whimpered sadly. It looked at the bird egg again, then at David before it laid down carefully on the ground.
At this moment, the system’s voice suddenly sounded in David’s mind.
“Detected decrease in intimacy between Host and pet. Current level: 15%.”
David stopped what he was doing and looked up at Luca, feeling speechless.
Shouldn’t a pet listen to him?
He still had to go along with the mood of his pet and consider its feeling?
Does it have to be so unfair?
