Chapter 36: Confronting Danger
Many people were startled. They never expected such a thing to happen.
Ally also saw the video from the front line and covered her mouth in surprise.
Wade frowned, suddenly remembering the situation they had discovered two days before.
At that time, he had found it very strange. Why were there so many small animals moving outwards?
I see!
So that was what happened!
Wade looked at the live broadcast, and many people were surprised.
He adjusted his emotions and coughed lightly. “I’m sure everyone is curious about what happened.”
Ally looked at him questioningly. “Do you know what’s going on, Mr. Wade?”
Wade nodded. “Actually, when I saw those small animals, I was already very puzzled. It’s impossible to see an increase in so many small animals for no reason, right?”
Ally asked in surprise, “Isn’t it due to the normal activities of those small animals?”
Wade shook his head. “Even if it’s a normal activity, they should be running everywhere. Instead, it should be a purposeful operation.”
Ally thought back to the images she’d seen over the past two days. Some of the small creatures had fled in any path they could find without further consideration and ran into the participants’ arms.
At that time, they had thought that the wild hare was too dorky and cute. However, it was still eaten in the end.
Ally had also watched that scene with amusement. Was there really another reason for such behavior?
Ally asked with great curiosity, “Mr. Wade, may I know why they became like this?”
“Very simple.” Wade looked at the situation on the screen and answered with absolute certainty, “Because it is the migration season and mating season for the wild beasts on the island.”
Ally was slightly taken aback. That seemed to make a little sense.
Wade said confidently, “These small animals got scared when they sensed the monsters roaming, so they ran to safety.”
The more Ally listened, the more she felt that it made sense. She nodded. “I see. Does everyone understand now?”
The livestream became lively again.
“With so many monsters appearing, will the participants be able to hang in there?”
“We’d just thought that they were living comfortably and could finally settle down. To think another big incident is now happening again.”
“Those monsters are too big. They look frightening.”
“How traumatized must the participants be?”
Many people now understood that the monsters’ appearance was mainly due to migration and mating.
They did not think much of it. Those were animal’s instincts!
At this moment, Morton and company were having a hard time.
They had just finished building their accommodation and were preparing to live a peaceful and leisurely life.
To their surprise, an enormous creature appeared not far from their ravine.
They were already in the ravine. When they looked up, the shock they felt left them dumbstruck.
Even if they wanted to take care of this colossus, they did not have the ability to do so.
Clark swallowed and looked at Morton. “Brother, do we have to continue staying here?”
Andrew gritted his teeth and said indignantly, “It took us so long to find a place to stay. What will we do if we escape now?”
Clark was equally indignant. They bustled about every day and could only sleep for five hours a day before they finally had a decent lodging.
However, changes always go beyond plans. Now that such a huge creature was here, what could they do?
Morton, who had been silent throughout, spoke up. “Let’s go.”
Clark was conflicted. “Are we really leaving?”
Morton made up his mind, turned around, and walked towards the lodging. “In order to survive, to get the prize money.”
Clark and Andrew immediately calmed down upon hearing his words.
They remembered their original intention. It was to succeed in the challenge and get a high amount of prize money.
The two of them looked at each other and decided to follow their chief’s decision.
They were about to go back and pack their things when they ran into David on the way.
They stopped when they saw him.
Clark was already very familiar with him. “Did you see that monster?”
It was only when David walked up here that he realized that there was an enormous creature on this side.
From afar, he could see its massive body. When he arrived here, he could see the monster even more clearly.
“Yes.” He nodded slightly.
“With such a huge monster, we can’t live in this area anymore. We can only move to another location.” Clark’s heart ached when he said this.
David glanced at the Ancient Lizard. “There’s no hurry. What if this animal only eats grass and not meat?”
“Well…” Clark didn’t expect him to say that. He smiled. “I don’t suppose that’s possible?”
“I’m going to see what’s going on. I’ll let you guys know when I get back.” David was even more depressed when he saw Lightning Mink running ahead again.
How could such a massive creature, one that is found on this strange island, be vegetarian?
It was just a casual remark on his end, he mainly wanted to check out the situation on that side.
Firstly, Luca was running towards the monster. Secondly, this place was very close to where he lived. He had to assess the current situation.
If the place he was staying at was also dangerous, then he could only abandon his current lodging and move to another location.
“It’s dangerous over there…” Clark tried to tell him not to go, but before he could finish, David had ducked into the jungle.
Andrew said with a straight face, “Since he wants to court death, let him go by himself.”
“Leave him,” said Moreton.
Many viewers in David’s livestream were used to his actions.
“That’s what our David does. Every time he encounters danger, he doesn’t run away. instead, he confronts it.”
“I don’t know why, but I think he’s really cool right now.”
“Haha, person above, can you stop joking? He’s going because his pet ran away, he just wanted to chase after his pet.”
“Don’t risk your life for a small animal.”
“Hasn’t he always been like this? He’s always courting death any time, anywhere. Yet he just won’t die, making some haters super anxious.”
David finally managed to get Luca to stop two minutes later.
He grabbed Luca’s neck and lifted it up. He reprimanded it unhappily, “Didn’t I tell you not to run around? You wouldn’t listen?”
Luca hung its head, as if it knew it was wrong, and stayed still.
“If there’s a next time, I’ll throw you away and leave you to fend for yourself.”
He then put Luca on the ground.
Then, he looked at the monster standing not far away.
He was already very tall, but now he had to lift his head to see the top of the monster.
At the same time, the monster had also raised its head to reveal a row of sharp teeth. There was also an animal head hanging from it.
