After the check-up, Jian requested to visit her mother. Li Shu, who had instructions from Ruan, took her to Wang Daizhen’s ward.

Wang Daizhen had lost a lot of weight and looked very weak. But on seeing Jian, her face lit up with a smile.

Jian inquired about her mother’s health. Wang Daizhen told her that there was a tumor in her womb, and the doctors were yet to confirm whether it was benign or malignant. The results were due the following day.
