2602 Wait for Just Ten Minutes!
After making her decision and sending out the notification, Su Yiren said to two of the Samsara Realm Dictators Lin Yuan had left with her, “Shocking Flame and Piercing Horn, I will be relying on you later. Just kill whoever I tell you to!”
Shocking Flame and Piercing Horn were abyssal Dictators.
They felt concerned when Lin Yuan assigned them to Su Yiren, interpreting it as a form of exclusion. Although they weren’t the mightiest abyss demons in the Samsara Realm, they weren’t weak either.
Shocking Flame and Piercing Horn did not know why Lin Yuan had chosen them out of all the abyss demons.
Regardless of how important the jobs that Su Yiren gave them were, they would have more opportunities remaining by Lin Yuan’s side.
Although Shocking Flame and Piercing Horn had some grumbles, they dared not disobey Su Yiren. If they did and she complained about them, they would be doomed!
“Okay, please let us know of any requests that you have. We will do as you ask.”
Su Yiren felt herself relax. She had been struggling to figure out how to deal with the former associates of the Seven States of Darkness.
Su Yiren could only make this decision because of the resources Lin Yuan had provided.
Many of these former associates had worked with her grandmother and could be seen as her elders. They might have served her grandmother faithfully and for the benefit of the Seven States of Darkness in the past, but now they were working for Su Yiren and could influence how she managed the organization.
It was only at this moment that Su Yiren realized she had to be tough.
–
Su Yiren’s attendants had conveyed her orders, and she arrived promptly at the imperial meeting.
As she walked into the room for the important imperial meeting, she noticed that the long table, set to accommodate over 100 people, was only halfway occupied. About 20 to 30 individuals were still missing.
She had not contacted the ones she had sent out and were tied up to attend this imperial meeting. Everyone she had informed had more than enough time to arrive and take part in the gathering.
Their absence was evidently linked to their attitudes.
After Su Yiren looked around and made a note of who had not arrived, she told Shocking Flame, “If these people don’t arrive in the next ten minutes, you can go ahead and kill them. For the sake of the completeness of the imperial meeting, I can wait another ten minutes from the set start time.”
Su Yiren turned and sat down in her seat.
Her words caused the expressions of those there to subtly change. A few thought they were lucky for coming early and avoiding Su Yiren’s anger. Others sighed, waiting to see if she would follow through on her threat.
A group stood up, ready to ask permission to leave and bring those who hadn’t come yet.
As the new ruler of the Seven States of Darkness, there was no way that Su Yiren would make an empty threat. Those who had not shown up were in deep trouble!
Upon seeing those people standing and preparing to leave, Su Yiren knocked on the table and said coldly, “Whoever leaves now will go right to the end of the table when they return. You can leave if you want.”
Su Yiren’s words caused these people to halt hastily. They hesitated for a moment before they sat down again.
Ranking was very important in the Seven States of Darkness. Their seat determined the amount of power that they wielded. Power equated to profit, and no one here wanted to risk losing profit.
No one else arrived in the next ten minutes, and Su Yiren had fully expected this.
Their reason for not turning up to the imperial meeting on time was very simple. All of them wanted to undercut her authority at this second imperial meeting. Thus, to them, arriving half an hour late would also be considered early!
After waiting for ten minutes, Su Yiren instructed Shocking Flame to close the door and began the meeting.
Since these people were willing to respect her enough to arrive at the imperial meeting on time, she was also willing to give those who were not fully cooperative a chance to change.
During the imperial meeting, Su Yiren outlined her expectations for the development of the Dark Continent and acknowledged those who had truly worked hard for her.
At that moment, cries of despair echoed outside the door.
Most of these cries were familiar, making it evident that Su Yiren hadn’t made idle threats. Those who had arrived late were now facing the consequences she had warned them about!
The room’s occupants grew visibly pale. Even those who had previously challenged her authority were forced to take her seriously. Regardless of whether they respected her, she had the power to end their lives effortlessly. If they continued to oppose her, they risked meeting the same fate as those outside the room.
Many absent from the imperial meeting had influential backgrounds, which had given them the audacity to skip it.
However, Su Yiren remained indifferent to their connections and pedigrees.
Once she made the aims of the Dark Continent’s development clear, Su Yiren tapped on the surface of the table and said seriously, “You are all holding pens and were taking notes while I was speaking. Liu Xi, collect all of their notes later. I want to see if they are clear on all of my requests!”
Su Yiren’s words caused the expressions of numerous people to change. Many of them had only been going through the motions and had not been taking notes seriously. A few of them were even doodling.
When Su Yiren saw this, she would definitely be displeased. If she wanted to kill someone to make an example out of them, they would definitely be picked!
Liu Xi was a poppy fruit from the Love Music Center that Su Yiren showed special favor to because she showed a very strong talent for governance. As such, Su Yiren brought her around as a close attendant.
When Liu Xi received Su Yiren’s orders, she stood up and smiled at the people sitting around the table as she said, “Your Majesty, I will collect them now! You weren’t speaking quickly at all. Those who are sincere would definitely have been able to follow. Those who are ingenuine wouldn’t know how to come up with something now even if they wanted to!”
Liu Xi then stepped away from Su Yiren’s left side and started to collect the meeting notes. She walked around the table until she arrived at Su Yiren’s right side and placed the notes neatly in front of her before she returned to her original seat.
Liu Xi knew that her words had offended many people, but she did not care. Su Yiren was the one who had given her her life as a poppy fruit. All she needed to do was follow Su Yiren’s instructions.
