Chapter 521: 520, don’t leave me
Chapter 520
“Mo Xiuchen…”
Wen Ran’s plea was disregarded by Mo Xiuchen, who was determined to make her answer him in his own harsh way.
In her panic, Wen Ran came to a realization.
Earlier, she was too nervous, he probably didn’t know the truth.
If he really knew, with Mo Xiuchen’s personality, he wouldn’t force her in this way.
Mo Xiuchen sensed her stiffness, lifted his eyes, and halted his action when his gaze fell upon the tear at the corner of her eye.
In the dim light, she was as white as a sheet, eyes tightly closed, lips clenched, her sad and desperate expression was like a harsh stab through his chest.
“Ranran!”
He blurted out her name.
Wave after wave of pain flooded his heart. Facing her heartbroken despair, he could not harden his heart, unable to continue.
Wen Ran’s body slightly shivered, slowly opened her eyes, her teary eyes so clear and translucent as to draw pity. Looking at his heated and conflicted eyes, her heart skipped a beat. At that moment, her emotions overcame her reasoning like madness, and she held him tightly.
Mo Xiuchen stiffened, “Ranran, don’t leave me!”
Wen Ran loosened her grip, and tears flowed freely.
“Ranran, don’t cry!”
Mo Xiuchen was extremely pained. What he least wanted to see was her sadness and tears.
However, he was the one who forced her to tears tonight. He wiped her tears time and time again, hoping to dry her tears, but found that the more he wiped, the more tears she shed.
He pulled her up and tightly held her in his arms, repeating over and over again: “Ranran, as long as you don’t leave me, I’ll do whatever you want, is that okay?”
He had begun to have doubts. If he hadn’t been loath to see her upset, he would’ve continued just now and perhaps he would’ve gotten the answer he wanted.
However, her tears were like the sharpe’est weapon to him, he simply couldn’t force her.
Wen Ran was held tightly in his arms, listening to his pleas over and over again. This proud and excellent man was now pleading with her in a humble and downtrodden manner.
She opened her mouth, but the rejection she meant to voice got stuck in her throat, unable to be spoken.
“Ranran, I know that something must have happened for Ah Kai to suddenly change his decision. We’re a married couple—is there really something you can’t tell me? You can tell me anything, you once promised that you would never leave me.”
“Didn’t you say you felt sorry for my lonely childhood, for the days you weren’t by my side, that you would always be with me in the future?”
“Ranran, I can’t let you go. These days without you by my side, I couldn’t eat or sleep, I felt like I had been abandoned by the whole world. Every single minute, every single second, I miss you, all the time, I want to see you…”
“Mo Xiuchen, stop it.”
Wen Ran was afraid that if she continues to listen, she would have tell him everything.
“Alright, I won’t say anymore, but promise me you’ll reconsider, okay?”
Mo Xiuchen’s deep eyes locked onto hers, he had called her back to keep her, not to really have her sign the papers that would sever their relationship forever.
Facing his earnest and hopeful gaze, Wen Ran dropped her cruel intentions and couldn’t help but nod:” Okay!”
At her words, a relieved smile spreads on Mo Xiuchen’s face. He happily leaves a kiss on her forehead, and pulls her into his arms, “Ranran, stay here tonight. I promise I won’t bully you, I just want to hold you while I sleep. These few days, I haven’t been able to rest.”
In the end, his tone was thick with dejection.
**
When Wen Jin returned home, Auntie Li told him that Wen Ran had gone back to Mo Xiuchen’s house, he was a little surprised, “Why did she go back?”
Auntie Li smiled and explained, “Mo Xiuchen called her and asked her to come back for a bit. She said she would bring back her belongings.”
Wen Jin’s eyes flickered, “Then we don’t have to wait for Ranran. She is going home, she will definitely eat before going back.”
Just as he finished speaking, his phone started to ring.
Wen Jin took out his phone, saw the name displayed on the screen and a smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. His long fingers pressed the answer button, and he spoke warmly, “Ranran!”
“Brother, are you home yet?”
Wen Ran’s voice came softly from the other end of the line.
Wen Jin’s eyes warmed, he left the kitchen and headed for the sofa,”I just got home. Auntie Li told me you went to get your things. I was thinking that you probably wouldn’t come back for dinner.”
“Brother, I won’t come back for dinner, you don’t have to wait for me.”
“Alright, I won’t wait for you then. Are you coming back tonight or tomorrow?”
As Wen Jin sat down on the sofa, his tone became slightly hesitant.
“Tomorrow, I’m staying here tonight.”
Wen Ran glanced at Mo Xiuchen whose gaze was firmly on her. Just before, she had weakened and agreed to his suggestion to stay tonight.
“Okay!”
Wen Jin did not ask for a reason, although he was not her real brother, he understood her well from their years of living together.
No matter how cold she seemed towards Mo Xiuchen on the surface, her love for him never faded in her heart.
Once the call ended, Mo Xiuchen immediately took Wen Ran’s cell phone, put it on the bedside table, and pulled her off the bed. His large hand gently held her small one, and he cheerfully said, “Ranran, let’s go downstairs for dinner.”
Looking at his relaxed and happy expression, Wen Ran’s face unconsciously broke into a smile. If he was happy, so was she, “Wait for a moment, I’m going to wash my face.”
Her face felt uncomfortable after crying just now.
Just as she was about to pull her hand out of his, Mo Xiuchen tightened his grip, and said in a low, gentle voice, “I’ll go with you.”
Wen Ran wanted to decline, but the words died on her lips, “Okay!”
At her words, a smile quickly lit up Mo Xiuchen’s handsome face. Holding her hand, they went into the bathroom. He watched her wash her face and then he took a towel to dry it for her. Afterwards, he held her hand in his palm again, as if this was the only way he could truly feel that she was by his side.
Only then, could he feel relieved.
Wen Ran didn’t refuse or struggle, she just let him hold her hand. Like in the past, they went downstairs hand in hand.
