Chapter 123: [123] Just don’t believe you won’t beg for mercy_1
The man Xu Xinling called “Gao Pengfei” was clad in a tailor-made white suit, his white leather shoes polished to a gleam.
With his handsome looks, he was the epitome of a tall, rich, and handsome gentleman.
Many women at the venue shifted their gaze from Song Lele to him.
“Xinling, didn’t we agree on this? I was going to pick you up this morning. Why didn’t you wait for me before leaving?” Gao Pengfei, with a sycophantic face, approached her but didn’t get angry over Xu Xinling’s attitude.
“Who agreed with you? Are you delusional or what?” Xu Xinling glared at him unhappily.
“Yes, yes, it’s all my wishful thinking. Right, you haven’t had breakfast, have you? I bought some for you.” Gao Pengfei, very much aware of his ‘lickdog’ status, turned and took a breakfast set from his bodyguard.
The breakfast was incredibly lavish, with milk, bread, eggs, porridge… it had everything.
Xu Xinling didn’t refuse and reached out to take the breakfast.
Gao Pengfei was immediately overjoyed.
This was the first time Xu Xinling had accepted a gift from him, even if it was just an inconsequential breakfast, but it pushed their relationship a big step forward.
However, before he could bask in his happiness for too long, he saw Xu Xinling turn and hand the breakfast to Song Lele and Tang Feng beside her, “Haven’t you guys eaten yet this morning? Let’s eat together.”
When facing the two of them, there was obviously a genuine smile on her face – a stark contrast to the coldness she showed Gao Pengfei.
Gao Pengfei’s cheeks twitched, and he glared at them unpleasantly, his threatening intent apparent.
But Song Lele and Tang Feng seemed oblivious to his threat.
Song Lele had a small appetite, taking only a small piece of bread and a box of milk, leaving the rest for Tang Feng.
Tang Feng, on the other hand, didn’t stand on ceremony and started eating without regard for his image.
He ate as if he had been reincarnated from a starving ghost, stuffing bread into his mouth before even finishing an egg, then gulping down a big mouthful of milk, filling his mouth to the brim.
“Eat slowly, no one’s competing with you,” Xu Xinling said, seeing his manner of eating, and quickly took out a tissue to wipe his mouth.
Gao Pengfei’s mind buzzed when he saw this scene.
She hadn’t even given him a smile despite his pursuit for so long.
Yet now, she cared so much for this guy who had suddenly appeared and even made such an intimate gesture as wiping his mouth, igniting Gao Pengfei’s jealousy to the brink of madness.
It wasn’t just him, even Song Lele frowned, feeling that the bread and milk in her hands had lost their appeal.
Xu Xinling, mainly executing the act to annoy Gao Pengfei, had inadvertently neglected her best friend’s feelings. She quickly clutched Song Lele’s arm, “Lele, I was just joking with him, don’t be mad, okay?”
Song Lele glanced at Tang Feng in a fluster, “Why should I be mad?”
Xu Xinling whispered something into her ear.
Song Lele’s face immediately turned red, and she pinched Xu Xinling’s waist.
Xu Xinling giggled, “What, touched a nerve because I guessed right and now you’re mad?”
“Keep talking? See if I don’t take care of you.” Song Lele started chasing after her, and Xu Xinling quickly ducked behind Tang Feng.
The two of them frolicked around Tang Feng, filling the air with laughter and fun.
Watching Xu Xinling mess around with the two men in public was enough to infuriate Gao Pengfei.
Why was she so nice to other men but blind to his own efforts?
For a moment, a very indecent image flashed across his mind.
A hotel, a bed, the three of them…
“Enough!” he suddenly roared, interrupting their horseplay.
“Gao Pengfei, what’s gotten into you?” Xu Xinling stopped in her tracks and looked at him displeasedly.
“I…” Gao Pengfei, intimidated by her glare, suddenly felt a bit guilty, “Xinling, they’re your friends, right? Aren’t you going to introduce me?”
“They’re my friends, why should I introduce you?” Xu Xinling refused flatly, without giving him any face.
Unperturbed, Gao Pengfei smiled, “Your friends are my friends; we should look out for each other in the future. Hello, my name is Gao Pengfei.”
He extended his hand to Tang Feng as he said the last sentence, making the introduction.
To him, Tang Feng posed a greater threat than Song Lele.
Though Song Lele was more handsome, his delicate appearance made him seem soft, and probably posed less of a threat.
But Tang Feng was different; he matched him in terms of looks and height and exuded masculinity.
What was even more important, Tang Feng wore a Baoji 5367 Tourbillon Watch on his wrist.
The watch had a price tag of at least 1.2 million.
This alone indicated that Tang Feng’s background was no ordinary one, at least not inferior to his.
Compared to that, Tang Feng seemed to be on a completely different level, wearing a casual suit worth just tens of thousands.
And even the way he moved carried a touch of rustic simplicity, likely the emergence of someone from a modest middle-class family.
Picking the softer target made sense, a logic he understood.
However, Tang Feng, seemingly oblivious to his calculations, shook his hand, “Hello.”
Then Tang Feng was about to retract his hand.
But at that moment, he felt a strong force from Gao Pengfei’s handshake, clearly trying to show who was boss.
Tang Feng’s lips curled into a mischievous smirk, thinking Gao Pengfei wanted to play this game? He had picked the wrong opponent.
He then increased his grip in return.
Gao Pengfei, who typically frequented the gym, mainly because Xu Xinling liked it there, had developed quite some strength over time. Most people couldn’t withstand the pressure from his grip.
But he miscalculated today, for Tang Feng didn’t cry out in pain or beg for mercy as he imagined; instead, he remained unfazed, his smirk even carried a hint of mockery.
Feeling massively humiliated, Gao Pengfei put all his might into the handshake.
He refused to believe this young man wouldn’t plead for mercy.
