Chapter 52: Was She a Nymphomaniac? (2)
Nodding with his chin, Jiang Beihan turned and prepared to leave the venue, only to discover that Song Wenxin had suddenly frozen and stood rooted to the floor.
Her line of sight had stopped on a certain spot in the launch venue, where there stood a person—a man. In fact, it was a man who was widely revered by many people!
That person was none other than Qiao Zezhi, who had just entered the scene!
Right from the moment when he had entered the venue, he was immediately surrounded by several women who appeared to engage him in discussing something.
Song Wenxin recognized him immediately as her jaw dropped in shock, leaving her mouth wide open. She had not expected to see him here!
Then, as she noticed his glamorous appearance, she concluded that he must be one of the invited guests!
…
Noticing that Song Wenxin was staring, spellbound, at Qiao Zezhi, who was not too far away, Jiang Beihan’s eyes turned cold.
Darn it! Was she a nymphomaniac? Staring so intently at another man?
So why had he not caught her staring at him with that mesmerized look in her eyes?
“Song Wenxin!” he said her name, sounding very annoyed.
“What is it?” Startled by Jiang Beihan’s voice, Song Wenxin almost jumped and looked at him in surprise.
“Come with me to the lounge!” he ordered as he shot her a glance and turned around abruptly, walking away.
Stunned, Song Wenxin was momentarily speechless and did not react. Why did they have to go to the lounge?
But she did not think much of it, quickly speeding up to catch up with Jiang Beihan’s big strides.
…
The lounge was in a mini-suite, located very close to the launch venue.
A mega-sized LED screen had been installed in the living room of the suite to provide a full, live view of key areas of the launch venue.
As she entered, Song Wenxin could not hold back her curiosity any longer and asked Jiang Beihan.
“What are we doing here?’
Were they not supposed to be viewing the launch at the venue outside? What were they doing in here?
“Let’s watch it here!” Jiang Beihan glanced sharply at her as he took his seat on the sofa in front of the big screen.
Song Wenxin looked at him uncomprehendingly, wondering at the logic behind his action.
“Isn’t it better to be outside where the action is? Why are we watching the show on TV in here?”
Surely, watching the launch outside and catching the models showing the new line of clothes live on the runway was pretty cool, right? The real action in clear view!
“I hate noise.” Jiang Beihan glared at her.
Song Wenxin was speechless. All right. She conceded defeat.
He was really the most fastidious person ever.
It would appear that there was not one single thing in the entire world that he liked.
Suddenly, she recalled the long string of things that the help at Jiang Beihan’s home had told her about when she had first arrived there—the list of things that Jiang Beihan disliked.
Sighing in her defeat, she resigned herself to sitting silently beside Jiang Beihan.
…
Shortly after, the launch began.
Since it was the launch of a new line of men’s wear, the MC’s introduction was quickly followed by a string of male models appearing on the runway, showing off the latest line of DL’s men’s wear.
Although they were viewing a live telecast of the show, there were only two people, Song Wenxin and Jiang Beihan, in the quiet lounge, and the atmosphere felt a bit weird since they could not feel the excitement and buzz of being at a live show.
Looking around her, Song Wenxin lowered her head, looking a little down. This was a rare chance for her—making it to DL’s live event—and she had not expected to be cooped up in here to watch the models on the catwalk.
She felt that it had all come to nothing—a wasted opportunity…
And what really baffled her was that Jiang Beihan was seated beside her, busy reviewing the business documents that his assistant had set out for him.
She was rendered speechless. It was as though any place could be instantly turned into his personal office!
Watching a live telecast of a launch under these circumstances made Song Wenxin feel especially disheartened.
