Chapter 56: No Interest in Women?
Didn’t they say that A-list celebrities were all extremely busy, resulting in them having bad memory? Why has he remembered her anyway?
Song Wenxin clearly did not wish to be recognized by him.
As there were many people from the press present at the venue, she did not want to cause any trouble here, especially since she had sneaked out from Jiang Beihan’s suite.
“Are you an employee here?” Qiao Zezhi questioned, unable to curb his curiosity, noting that she had been desperately trying to shield herself.
Did she pretend not to recognize him because she was worried about him getting back at her?
…
Because of Qiao Zezhi, a small group of people had already begun to look in the direction of Song Wenxin, sending curious looks at the two of them.
Screaming a silent “No!”, Song Wenxin reached out quickly and pushed Qiao Zezhi away.
“Um, apologies. I have to attend to something, so I will go now.” That said, Song Wenxin, shielding her face with her jacket, slipped away swiftly from Qiao Zezhi.
…
By the time Qiao Zezhi could react, Song Wenxin had already disappeared into thin air.
He stood rooted to the ground and, lowering his head to check on his outfit, frowned, looking a little annoyed.
Was he so scary?
…
In the lounge.
Reclining on the sofa, Jiang Beihan raised his hand and checked the time on his watch.
Song Wenxin had not appeared yet. Did she find the activities at the launch venue so exciting?
Or was this woman eyeballing the men like the nymphomaniac that she was?
Recalling that entranced look of Song Wenxin’s when she had stared at that other man, he began to feel a twinge of annoyance.
Indeed, she did not know a good thing when she saw one.
Just when Jiang Beihan had put down the documents in his hands, preparing to go and check out the activities at the venue, the door, which had been left slightly ajar, was suddenly pushed open as someone entered the room.
Frowning, Jiang Beihan asked in his low and stern voice, “So you do know the way back…”
A moment later, however, his expression turned serious.
Because the person who had entered the room was not Song Wenxin.
He heard the sound of high-heeled shoes on the floor.
A mixed-race woman clad in a long black evening dress with long curly hair reaching down to her waist had entered the room.
“Mr. Jiang, unbelievable. You are here in person,” she said, smiling warmly when she saw Jiang Beihan.
In fact, before the launch, she had called Jiang Beihan’s secretary many times, wanting to invite him to attend the launch today, but had not received any response at all.
She had not expected him to make an appearance, in person at today’s launch, and was extremely surprised.
Jiang Beihan looked at her emotionlessly before he frowned and asked, “Who are you?”
At Jiang Beihan’s abrupt question, her face turned a ghostly pale.
“Mr. Jiang, you have such a good sense of humor. I’m Sally, DL’s designer. Mr. Zhou and I met up with you last month,” Sally replied with a forced smile.
Although she had played through dozens of outcomes in her head, she had not expected one where Jiang Beihan did not even recall meeting her.
“You’re very noisy.” Jiang Beihan heard her out but ignored her completely, not even looking at her. Instead, he opened up his phone and began reading work-related emails.
Caught off guard by Jiang Beihan’s indifference, Sally was deeply humiliated as her face turned ashen, and she was at a loss as to what to say next.
A lot of people had told her about Jiang Beihan’s abruptness, especially toward women.
But she had never believed any of it until today when she finally experienced it for herself.
Was it true then… that he, as implied in the rumors, was not interested in women?
Sally took one look at Jiang Behan’s exceedingly handsome face and gritted her teeth, conceding reluctantly.
“I will not take up any more of your time, then,” she said with a smile before turning around and proceeding to leave the room in her high-heeled shoes.
