Chapter 53: Mrs. Lu, Have You Left Your Brain at Home?

“OK, if you insist, we will do it your way,” Yan Susu responded, without further objection.

She had no intention of making this a do-or-die thing, but since Su Luoqi insisted, she could do nothing about it.

“Yan Susu, next week, I will make you cry for forgiveness!” Su Luoqi promised, as she stuck her chin out arrogantly and walked away.

Su Luoqi was determined to destroy Yan Susu. She would crush her so hard that she wouldn’t be able to fight back and would never be a threat to her again, not ever!

Meanwhile, the onlookers who had watched this scene unfold were in a frenzy, mocking her.

“Does she even realize what she’s going up against? Going head to head with Su Luoqi!”

“Exactly. She should take a hard look in the mirror first. Does she think that the CEO is her man, and he’ll just take her side?”

Yan Susu was secretly amused. They had hit the nail on the head. The CEO was indeed her man…

But she was unsure if he would take her side. In any case, she had no intention of using the CEO to help her get her way.

She wanted to prove her worth through her own work!

Perhaps because she had finally found a way to kick Yan Susu out of the company, Su Luoqi stopped harassing her until the end of the workday, when Yan Susu had time to relax.

Picking up her bag, Yan Susu was just about to leave the office when she got a call from Lu Zhanxiu. He uttered just a few words.

“The parking garage.”

Then, without waiting for her response, he hung up.

Did that man not have any phone etiquette?

Yan Susu sighed and, not daring to hold him up, jogged to the garage. Lu Zhanxiu was leaning against the car waiting for her, his long legs strikingly elegant.

“I’m sorry to keep you waiting.”

“Has Mrs. Lu left her brain at home?”

“What?”

“The elevator comes right down to the parking garage.” Judging by the way she was huffing and puffing, she must have circled around to the garage entrance and then run down to the car.

Yan Susu had forgotten about that.

Lu Zhanxiu noticed her crestfallen expression and flashed a quick grin. “Get in the car.”

Feeling deflated, Yan Susu got into the car and glanced at Lu Zhanxiu.

Somehow, she always felt that the man was teasing her; was it an illusion?

“What are you looking at?’

“Noth…” Swiftly, Yan Susu averted her gaze, continuing, “Are we going to pick Xingguang up?”

Lu Zhanxiu paused. Obviously, he had not intended to do so.

Being accommodating, Yan Susu suggested, “Well, if you’re busy, I can go pick him up on my own…”

“The school.” Lu Zhanxiu issued the instruction to the driver and returned to his work.

Yan Susu looked, entranced, at that perfect profile of his. He was such a diehard workaholic, constantly grinding away.

But then again, the sight of him busy working was quite alluring…

“Have you seen enough, Mrs. Lu?” Lu Zhanxiu had raised his head to find Yan Susu staring unblinkingly at him. For some unknown reason, he felt happy. He couldn’t resist teasing her.

Turning pink, Yan Susu quickly turned her head away and refuted him. “Who said I was looking at you? I just felt that those clothes really suit you.”

“The credit goes to Mrs. Lu for her excellent eye.”

Blushing even redder, Yan Susu turned to look out of the window.

Was this man even aware of the effect that his smile had on others, that he violated the rules of the game simply by smiling? And the sweet talk…

Lu Zhanxiu laughed gently and stopped teasing her.

When they arrived at the school, Lu Xingguang was already waiting for them at the gate. Seeing Yan Susu, he shouted excitedly and ran straight into her arms. “Honey, the teacher complimented me today!”

“That’s awesome, Xingguang!” With a radiant smile, Yan Susu caressed his head gently.

Her spirits were lifted every time she saw the child, and she wanted nothing more than to be able to spend every minute of every hour with him.

“Yes! I asked the teacher when I would be able to grow up and become an adult. The teacher said that if I keep up my good behavior, I’ll grow up in no time. Honey, wait for me. I’m going to grow up very quickly and marry you.”

Before Yan Susu could voice any words of encouragement, a cold voice, full of disdain, rang out. “Little brat, you have a long way to go!”
