Chapter 58: A Good Kid That Makes Your Heart Ache

Laughing, Yan Susu tapped his nose and said, “Little glutton, I’ve just put it in the oven. It will take a while.”

“Hurry up, hurry up, I want to eat it. Honey’s pizza must be very special and delicious.” With shiny eyes, Lu Xingguang stared at the oven, willing it to cook faster.

His friends had told him that pizzas, with their many toppings, were extremely delicious. Because Lu Zhanxiu had not allowed it, he had never tasted pizza before.

“All right, all right. Wait a little longer. When it’s done, you can have it all to yourself. No one can take it away from you.”

“I don’t want that. I’ll give Honey half of it. Young Uncle said that a man must look after his woman.”

Somehow, Yan Susu found that very comforting. Laughing, she ruffled his little head.

Ding! The oven timer rang out loud and clear. Instantly, Lu Xingguang became very excited.

“Hurry up, Honey! It’s done! It’s done!!!”

His energetic form, jumping up and down, made Yan Susu laugh heartily. Shaking her head, she put on oven mitts and took the pizza out of the oven.

The aroma of freshly baked pizza immediately filled the kitchen.

Lu Xingguang’s eyes were glued to the pizza, never losing sight of it for even one second.

Yan Susu cut the pizza into small slices and put some onto Lu Xingguang’s plate. Cupping her chin, she looked gently at him. “Be careful, it’s hot.”

However, Lu Xingguang did not tuck in right away. Instead, clumsily but carefully, he picked up a slice with his fork, blew on it, and put it onto her plate, saying, “Honey, you eat too. Careful, it’s hot.”

Tearing up, Yan Susu nodded and, picking up her fork and knife, started eating. Paired with her tears, the pizza tasted especially good.

He was such a well-behaved and considerate kid. How could Lu Zhanxiu be so indifferent to him?

“Honey, it’s really good!” Lu Xingguang raised his head happily and then noticed Yan Susu’s tears. Dropping his fork and knife onto his plate, he let out an ear-piercing yell and asked anxiously, “Why are you crying? Have I done something wrong and made you unhappy?”

Yan Susu wiped at her tears hurriedly and smiled, “No. I’m just feeling emotional and touched.”

Confused, Lu Xingguang asked, “Emotional and touched about what?”

“About meeting a kid as adorable and considerate as you.”

The naturally thick-skinned Lu Xingguang now turned crimson red as he turned his full attention to eating his pizza, secretly feeling very pleased.

Indeed, his Honey loved him. He was determined to grow up as soon as possible!

Auntie Tang, observing from the doorway, also teared up at the heart-warming sight.
