“Of course, I’m your older brother.”
Hades had a soft personality, but he never showed it in front of his sister.
Hades had protected his sister since she was little and never let her suffer any injustice.
That was why Delia trusted Hades so much.
She felt that Hades could do anything.
During the days when Delia was in despair, she had been fantasizing that her brother would come and save her.
However, she was also worried that her brother had turned into a zombie.
She didn’t expect that Hades would be able to kill more than ten zombies at once.
Her previous fear of zombies had completely turned into admiration for Hades.
“Alright, we need to stock up on more resources. This is a big city, and all the citizens have turned into zombies. but there are things we can use in their homes. Now they are dead, they have no use of these things. We might as well take them.”
“That’s true.”
Of course, Delia had no objections.
She knew how important food was during the Apocalypse.
A few days ago, her food stock went out when she was trapped in home.
She had seen some people who left their homes to get a piece of bread.
However, as soon as they left their homes, countless zombies surrounded them and took them as food.
There were zombies everywhere.
Some people were starved to death being trapped in home.
Delia had starved for a few days, so when Hades gave her food, she devoured it quickly.
She would never return to the life with no food but fear.
Now that the city was surrounded by zombies, they couldn’t find food in those skyscrapers.
Because of the lack of electricity, the modern factories stopped working, including animal farms and plantations.
The animals that were caged in the farms would gradually die.
The world would be filled with wild animals and zombies.
Whether or not humans could survive was still unknown.
Everything would have to start over again. Without modern farming equipment, they would return to the era of primitive farming. Moreover, there was danger everywhere.
However, the heritage left behind by the previous human civilization was very rich. If one could get it, one would gain a better footing in the new world.
The foundation of everything was food!
With more food, more people would live.
However, to get food, one needed weapons and vehicles.
After all the administrative organizations collapsed, the only thing left in this world would be military forces.
The strong would live, and the weak would die.
Hades and Delia began to search houses for supplies.
Every house had some food including rice.
Some people had a lot of cash in their houses.
The money was kept in safes, but it was easy for Hades to open them now.
However, after the Apocalypse, cash was useless.
Hades would have been very happy to have such wealth in the past, but now, money was the most useless thing.
No amount of money was as important as a piece of bread.
Expensive luxury items were not as important as a weapon.
The two began to collect all kinds of spices and food. They even took meat and vegetables from the refrigerators.
Now that the electricity was gone, the refrigerators were useless.
The perishable food would soon rot.
In a few months, only the nonperishable food with a long shelf life were edible and vegetables and meat would become a luxury.
After collecting enough food, Hades would go and find a big truck, so they could embark on the journey to find their parents.
Without the protection of an army, their parents would be in danger, so they must find their parents and stay by their side.
The two of them collected enough food and moved it to a luxurious villa.
There was no one inside, and its owner could not come back.
Most of the houses in the city were empty, so they chose a comfortable place to stay.
After taking possession of the villa, they began to stock up on food.
Although the tap water and electricity were gone, they still had beds to sleep in and bottled water to drink.
Night soon arrived.
Hades didn’t want to go out to search for supplies at night because the city had lost its power and became extremely dark.
There was no light at all and zombies lurked in the darkness to sneak up on people.
And zombies seemed to be more agile and powerful at night.
The city looked peaceful but there were millions of zombies lurking out there in the darkness.
There might even be evolved zombies who could command troops.
Although Hades was very strong now, he didn’t think that he could defeat millions of zombies all by himself.
It would need modern weapons, such as missiles and nuclear bombs, to defeat an army of zombies.
And he wasn’t well-informed about the outside world. If the military of a certain country decided to solve the problem with nuclear bombs, it would be catastrophic.
But for now, no nuclear bombs had been launched.
He wondered about the future of mankind and couldn’t sleep.
He didn’t know what his fate was going to be. He didn’t know if he had made the right decision to set foot on this path and escape from the campus which was in the control of the military.
He’d live day by day, as everyone living in the Apocalypse.
