Chapter 29: You’re under my Wing Now
“You want to fight? I’ll fight you!”
He was not only fighting an enemy or two, but nine enemies who were in the same tier as him
However, Toulon did not look worried at all. On the contrary, he looked eager and ready to fight them till the very end.
Shu Ke had mixed feelings about this. What they had was not a master-disciple relationship, but rather a transaction.
However, Toulon was willing to act for Shu Ke’s sake and offend the great Vincent family.
Even though he was a strong Dou Spirit and was considered a formidable figure in the kingdom, he was still insignificant compared to the Vincent family.
The Vincent family was powerful enough to make a Dou Spirit pay for offending them.
Moreover, they were currently in the Vincent family’s territory. With all nine of the elders present, it was really not difficult for them to kill Toulon.
“Toulon, since you insist on protecting the demon contractor, this alone makes you the enemy of the human race. We will kill you on behalf of humanity’s righteousness!”
The great elder repeatedly labeled Toulon and Shu Ke as demon contractors. He was using this to justify his actions to kill the two of them and to avoid future criticism.
“You big families are really annoying. If you want to kill someone, then just kill them. Stop bringing up nonsense, you are simply deceiving yourself.”
Toulon looked at the great elder and his cronies with ridicule and disdain.
“Fine! You are the one seeking death, I shall grant it!”
The great elder glared at him and roared. Meanwhile, the fourth elder beside him also looked impatient. “Older brother, why bother talking to them? Just kill them, it’s for us to decide whether it’s black or white!”
The great elder gave a meaningful look to the fourth elder and said in a low voice that was filled with killing intent, “Kill him!”
The nine elders immediately got ready to attack.
“Teacher, it’s better for you to…”
Shu Ke really couldn’t see any chance of Toulon surviving. Just as he was about to ask Toulon to run, Toulon raised his hand and interrupted him.
“You don’t have to worry about this, young man. None of us will die!”
Toulon looked at the instructors of the Royal Academy with a smile on his face, or rather, he looked at Lilia.
“Lilia, we practically old acquaintances. Why don’t you help an old friend out?”
“Stop your bullsh*t! I’m only eighteen years old. How could I possibly know a seventy or maybe even eighty-year-old geezer like you?”
Lilia said in a displeased manner while laughing coquettishly.
Her soft and soft voice was enough to make a person weak at their knees.
“Yeah, yeah, sure. You’re right. Hey you ethereal beauty, come save this old geezer.”
Toulon sighed helplessly and looked at Lilia with a pleading expression.
“Fix your attitude, old man!”
Lilia glanced at Toulon with disdain, before turning to the great elder with a serious expression. “Kid, give me some face, let’s just forget about it now.”
“If he really is a demon contractor, then that duel under the witness of the God of Justice and order wouldn’t have been so easy.”
“Who do you think you are? You’re just an instructor, you…”
Hearing this, the fourth elder immediately roared at Lilia.
He was only mid-sentence when he spat out blood and was sent flying. He crashed heavily on the ground, raising a cloud of dust.
When the dust settled, the fourth elder’s nose and mouth were covered in blood. He had been knocked out.
“This…”
Countless people looked at this scene with a stunned expression before mechanically turning their heads to look at Lilia, who was still standing at the same spot, sizing up her nails.
A Dou Spirit indeed!
The fourth elder had already been sent flying before anyone even saw how Lilia attacked.
“When I met your ancestor, Duke Lakin, your great-grandfather wasn’t even born yet!”
“How dare you talk to me like this?!”
Lilia looked disdainfully at the fourth elder who was out cold. Her actions were as if she were swatting an insignificant mosquito to death.
Gulp.
Everyone swallowed their saliva in fear. Duke Lakin? He was someone who had been around for over a thousand years.
‘Didn’t you just say that you were only eighteen years old?’
‘This was the eighteen years old that you were talking about!?’
“Whether this kid is a demon contestant or not, I know better than any of you. This matter ends here.”
Lilia looked at everyone from the Elder Council with a solemn expression.
They all lowered their heads, not daring to meet her gaze and act rashly.
“Since senior has already said so, then…”
“Quit spouting bullsh*t!”
The great elder originally wanted to calm the situation down. After all, the Vincent family had many trump cards that were not suitable to be used right now.
However, he immediately got yelled at by Lilia. He was dumbfounded, did he say something wrong?
“Who are you calling your senior? You are an old man nearing your eighties yet you call me your senior?!”
“I…”
The great elder felt helpless.
‘You are obviously an ancient creature, am I supposed to call you a little girl?’
“I. . . This…”
The great elder opened his mouth but did not know what to say for a long time.
“That’s it for now. As for you, quit talking. You’re wasting your breath.”
“…”
The great elder who had been acting high and mighty before had no say in anything now.
He did not dare to talk back to Lilia’s reprimand, he could only endure her words.
“This matter is entirely up to you, ma’am.”
Calling her his senior made her sound old, but he did not have the gall to call her Miss, nor did his conscience allow it.
The great elder thought for a really long time before settling on the indifferent and respectful “ma’am”.
“Toulon, you’ve taken in a good disciple.”
Lilia glanced at Toulon, then at Shu Ke. Her eyes were filled with admiration and recognition.
‘Whatever it is, this kid has great talent and seems like a reliable person. It is likely that he’ll have a pretty good future.
It’s just a pity that he’s formed a deadly enmity with the Vincent family. Who knows if this kid will be able to grow up well under the vengeance of the Vincent family?
If he does, he’ll definitely become a peerless genius; if he doesn’t, he’ll die.’
“It was pure luck.”
A smile appeared on Toulon’s face, albeit etched with the vicissitudes of life, it held pride and complex emotions.
“It’s good that you’re happy. This kid will be under the management of the Royal Academy from now on. You don’t have any objections, right?”
“At this point, what kind of objections could I possibly have?”
Lilia stepped forward and grabbed Shu Ke’s shoulder. She said to him with a charming smile, “Kid, you’re under my wing now.”
