Chapter 35: There Will Come A Day
“You brat, do you know what you’re talking about?!”
Kagin glared at Shu Ke with anger. If it wasn’t for Lilia, who seemed unconcerned, but was actually casting threatening glances at him from time to time, Kagin would have already killed Shu Ke on the spot.
“You’re just an old fart. Are all the members of the Vincent family like this? You don’t have the capability to face the big people so you bully those who are weaker than you?!”
“You…!”
Kagin’s eyes widened. The ground under their feet began to tremble. Numerous huge stalagmites broke out from the ground, and their spear-like spikes directly blocked the way in front of Shu Ke. If he were to stand forward a little, the stalagmites would have been able to pierce through his body.
“You don’t think that the Dou Spirit beside you can save you, right?”
Kagin looked at Shu Ke with disdain. “If I wanted to, I could pierce through the both of you and nail you to the ground at any time!”
“As long as you have the courage, you can do it any time. I don’t care.”
At this moment, a cold voice fell into Kagin’s ears.
Upon hearing that, Kagin’s body could not help but tremble.
“Lilia, we are all colleagues. Do you really have to be so disrespectful to me?”
Kagin stared at Lilia with an ugly expression. He knew better than anyone else how terrifying this woman was. To say that she was a thousand-year-old monster was an understatement.
This woman had a high position and Kagin did not dare to offend such a monster. However, it would be too embarrassing to just forget about it!
Initially, Kagin thought that he would just give a small punishment and that this woman would stay quiet. After all, he was the deputy director!
In the end, he ruined his own reputation.
‘Could it be that this kid is her lover?!’
Kagin grumbled maliciously in his heart. At the same time, he gazed at Shu Ke with even more hatred.
“I know what you’re thinking.”
Lilia looked at Kagin with disdain. Then, she stretched like a kitten as she said tiredly, “Respect and reputation are not given by others, but earned by yourself. If you don’t have the ability, don’t seek respect from me.”
As soon as she said this, Kagin’s face instantly turned pale.
Lilia’s words meant that she wasn’t going to give him the respect he wanted.
“These two people are my friends. Since they have come to the Royal Academy, I can’t let them be bullied. I don’t care about the Vincent family’s matters, but I don’t want to see anyone bullying my friends, understood?”
As she said this, Lilia raised her hand and snapped her fingers, instantly bringing Shu Ke and Kagin to the spot. The stalagmite that could take their lives at any moment was instantly shattered into powder.
Kagin’s face turned pale again.
“Is director Kagin is being taught a lesson by teacher Lilia?”
“I’ve long disliked him. He’s always acting like he’s high and mighty, looking down on others. Now, he’s snookered.”
“He’s quite bold, huh? Even the principal doesn’t dare to offend teacher Lilia. ”
The discussion between the students and the teachers had caused Kagin, the deputy director, to become red. He was furious but he couldn’t vent out the anger.
“Director Kagin, if there’s nothing else, you can leave now.”
If Lilia said that she didn’t want to give him respect, then he wouldn’t get it. This time, Kagin was in a dilemma.
If he left now, all the teachers and students present would be watching.
Wouldn’t that confirm the fact that he didn’t dare to provoke Lilia?
But if he said that he didn’t want to leave, then he would be offending her.
Kagin understood very clear that if he really was discovered dead outside the academy one day and the academy knew that it was Lilia who had done so, they wouldn’t do anything about it.
Moreover, the Vincent family might not even seek revenge on Lilia for him, because the payment and reward were not proportional at all.
After weighing the pros and cons, Kagin decided to leave.
“I thought you had guts, but in the end, it’s whatever this is,” Lilia snorted. The surrounding teachers and students also jeered at the sight.
Immediately, Kagin and the others, who could be considered high-level figures in the academy, were made fun of on the first day of school. However, they could only grit their teeth and turn around to leave.
Those voices sounded like mockery to him. He was so angry that he gritted his teeth, but there was nothing else he could do.
“Just you two wait, Shu Ke and Toulon. Lilia can’t protect you all the time!”
Kagin stared at the two of them and cursed fiercely before turning around and leaving.
Those who watched him leave also turned around and started letting out insulting opinions as they leave.
As the deputy director of the Magic Department, Kagin had lost a big chunk of reputation.
“I’ve already agreed with the principal and the others. Shu Ke, you’ll follow Ron from now on. As for you, Toulon, don’t you like books? Go be a librarian.”
Although Lilia didn’t seem very reliable, in reality, she had already had everything thought out for them. She was a good friend.
Moreover, Shu Ke learned from Toulon that the relationship between the two of them wasn’t that close. They were just colleagues at most.
But Lilia had done her best to help them.
“Thank you, Lilia. I will definitely repay this favor in the future!”
Shu Ke immediately bowed towards Lilia.
Everyone saw how Lilia had helped Shu Ke. Hence, as long as he had the ability, he would definitely repay her in the future!
“Alright.”
Upon hearing that, Lilia covered her mouth and giggled. Both of her eyes had each formed an exceptionally charming crescent shape.
“Then I’ll have to wait and see, Shu Ke.”
Lilia said as she pinched Shu Ke’s cheeks. Then, she turned around and walked into the tower.
“Kid, you’re really brave with your words. You want to repay Lilia, huh? Even the principal and the others don’t dare to say things like that. You’re fearless.”
Toulon looked at Shu Ke and could not help but laugh out loud.
If Shu Ke knew what Lilia was actually capable of, he probably would not dare to say such things, right?
“I’m confident that sooner or later, I will be stronger than her, or even stronger than anyone else! Trust me, there will come a day!!”
