Lin Yun’s duel with Dongfang Ruoxue quickly stirred up some commotions in the Clearwater College. A “trash” with less than Level 1 Spiritual Strength defeated the princess of the College. This great contrast instantly stunned countless students.
Inside a quaint office.
“Bam!”
Dongfang Ruoxue fiercely slammed her porcelain teacup onto the stone floor.
“Teacher, I can’t accept this! I still can’t figure out how I lost to that trash.” Dongfang Ruoxue’s eyes were red and swollen as she gritted her teeth.
Guo Yun looked at Dongfang Ruoxue dotingly and said gently, “That’s because his mental toughness has been honed over the past five years. He’s extremely resilient. Did you notice that he was not affected in the slightest despite the pain he must have been experiencing? From beginning to end, his speed and power remained unchanged.”
After hearing Guo Yun’s explanation, Dongfang Ruoxue became even angrier. “I don’t believe it. I’m the daughter of the only mecha warrior in the entire Clearwater City. I’ve always been the best, yet I can’t defeat that bumpkin who just cleared his name from being a useless piece of trash. I don’t believe it. My Spiritual Strength and Physical Strength both reached Level 4. Why did I lose to him?”
Guo Yun was hesitant, but she still explained, “Based on his punching power, even though he never learned any Body Movement Skills, his Physical Strength still reached Level 4.”
“What? You said this bumpkin’s Physical Strength reached Level 4?” Dongfang Ruoxue was in disbelief as she argued. “Is his Spiritual Strength Level 4 as well? Why was my Spiritual Attack useless on him?”
Guo Yun sighed and explained calmly, “When a person is extremely focused and highly determined, he can be immune to certain Spiritual Attacks. Once you get to Level 5 Spiritual Strength, that will not occur again. Hence, the most important thing now is to train yourself.”
Train yourself, then seek revenge.
This was Guo Yun’s advice to Dongfang Ruoxue.
Dongfang Ruoxue clenched her fists as she mumbled with trembling lips, “Teacher, I can’t do that. Thoughts about revenge have filled my head. If I don’t get my revenge, I can’t calm down for training.”
Guo Yun was stunned. Did this Lin Yun become Dongfang Ruoxue’s mental block? She thought for a while before replying coldly, “It’s easy to get your revenge now too.”
Dongfang Ruoxue’s eyes lit up and she instantly grabbed Guo Yun’s right hand. “Teacher, you must have a solution, right? You’re so good to me. Please hurry and tell me. What I should do?”
“It’s simple. Kill him.” Guo Yun looked calmly at Dongfang Ruoxue and slowly muttered.
“What?” Even though Dongfang Ruoxue wanted revenge, she was hesitant about murder. “But, he isn’t guilty enough to die. Furthermore, murdering others at will is illegal.”
Guo Yun smiled and patted Dongfang Ruoxue’s hands. “Not guilty enough to die? Haven’t I taught you that everyone must be selfish in this world? Since he has become your mental block, you need to find a way to kill him. After that, your Spiritual Strength will surely improve.”
Guo Yun slowly stood up from her seat and looked outside the window as she smiled coldly. “Law? That’s just the excuse for weaklings and the explanation for strong warriors. In this chaotic wartime, the strong will always win. Your father is a mecha warrior. There won’t be any consequences for killing a piece of trash.”
…
Lin Yun was very troubled these past few days.
After defeating Dongfang Ruoxue, he wanted to tell Feng Ke about what happened. However, Feng Ke did not appear on the Skynet at all. This made him depressed. He suddenly realized that he missed the cute girl with two canine teeth when she smiled.
Without anything else to do, Lin Yun could only repeat the boring life going from his home to the College, then to the Skynet. Lin Yun realized that nobody had bothered him for a while, not even Dongfang Ruoxue.
He had ways to train his Physical Strength. However, he had no idea how his Spiritual Strength could be improved. The fastest way to increase his Spiritual Strength was to obtain higher qualifications in the Skynet. Then, he could train with the assistance of the Skynet. He also heard rumors about certain people possessing secret manuals for Spiritual Strength training. However, that was impossible for Lin Yun to obtain. Hence, he could only slowly wait for the Skynet Three-Star Qualification Assessment Cooldown to be over.
Over the next few days, just as the Skynet Three-Star Qualification Assessment was about to become available, Lin Yun suddenly received a notification on the Skynet.
“Lin Yun:
According to the Clearwater College rules, every Special Class student must undergo the annual trials. You will be randomly grouped together with four other students. Your trial will be held at the Blue Sea Forest. Please proceed to coordinates [QSLH456, 821] at 9 AM this Friday. Your team leader will assign you with the trial mission there.”
Lin Yun had heard about the annual trials that Special Class Students must attend. However, he did not expect that it would be held at the Blue Sea Forest.
“Since I have to go for the trial at Blue Sea Forest, it’ll be a long while before I can come home again. Then, I’ll inform my dad first.”
Lin Yun logged off the Skynet, quietly went downstairs, and saw Lin Tianhao caressing the Tri-Star Medal of Honor a little absent-minded.
He slowly approached his father and saw the Tri-Star Medal of Honor again. In his memory, his father really liked this medal. He would always take it out and examine it carefully when he was free.
Lin Tianhao noticed his movement and slowly raised his head. “Yun’er, what’s going on?”
Lin Yun smiled and said, “Father, I have to head for the Blue Sea Forest this Friday with some classmates from the College. It might be a while before I can come home.”
Lin Tianhao slowly nodded and showed his limitless love with his eyes. “Alright, son. Stay safe. You can search up some information about the Blue Sea Forest online these few days.”
Lin Yun looked at the medal in Lin Tianhao’s hands and asked curiously, “What’s the story behind this medal?”
A flash of sadness appeared in Lin Tianhao’s eyes. Then, he quickly concealed it and smiled at him. “Nothing much. As people age, we just like to reminisce about the past.”
Since Lin Tianhao did not want to share the story, Lin Yun did not press him. He went back to his room and reconnected to the Skynet as he searched for information on the Blue Sea Forest.
The Blue Sea Forest area was said to be a vast ocean before the Great Breakdown. After that destructive nuclear explosion, the earth crust experienced significant shifts. The crust underneath this area rose and formed this forest region. Plenty of mutated creatures inhabited this Blue Sea Forest and most of them were very aggressive. Even some plants became terrifying.
Even though this Blue Sea Forest used to be a restricted area for humans, that was no longer the case after humans mastered the methods of improving their Spiritual and Physical Strength. The threats imposed by the mutated creatures here decreased greatly. Nowadays, the Blue Sea Forest was considered a relatively safe training ground. Plenty of creatures here were even protected by the government due to their unique genetics.
It was widely known that the Blue Sea Forest was home to the first Spiritual Master in human history, Hong Bo. His tomb was buried deep inside the Blue Sea Forest. Hence, some strong warriors often visited his tombstone in order to admire this great man who contributed greatly to the survival of the human race. After all, the Skynet System that humans relied heavily on to fight against the demons was created by Hong Bo.
As he read on, Lin Yun’s anticipation and excitement for the trial at the Blue Sea Forest grew.
