“Bru— ce,” the boss muttered as he was in pain.
From the corner of his eye, he saw that the few men before him had probably already fainted.
The mercenaries’ bones were so broken that they no longer looked human. However, from the light breathing and moaning, he could confirm that they were still alive. It was just that they were seriously injured.
Aurora, who was at the side, covered her head with a blanket. She had no idea what had happened.
At this moment, he saw that one of his arms not far away.
“My arm!!” The boss’s eyes were filled with shock.
Following that, he felt an intense pain on his upper arm which caused him to jolt up.
“Ahhhhhh!”
The boss shouted loudly as tears flowed down.
He was afraid. He encountered something that was out of his knowledge, and that made him extremely scared.
“Let me go, I’ll do anything. As long as you let me go, I’m willing to do anything.” As he spoke, the corners of his mouth kept trembling, and he could no longer tell if it was fear or pain.
Bruce ignored him.
He pulled him up with bloodshot eyes. “It’s fine if I were the one who provoked you but I clearly didn’t, and you have the guts to come to me again and again?”
“Do you think you’re powerful?”
“There are only two choices in front of you now. Surrender, or I kill you. Your pick.”
The boss’s eyes were filled with fear.
He would be obliterated!
Bruce was not joking. At least he would not die in prison. But if there were any hesitations, he would die right here.
This matter had gone long enough.
Without any hesitation, he said, “I will turn myself in, I will definitely turn myself in. I will do it now!”
“Turn yourself in? And then think about using money to bail yourself out?”
“Hmph, someone like you really don’t deserve any pity.”
Saying that, Bruce dragged the boss to the window. “If you live, then surrender. If you die, then you deserve it.”
Then, he let go of his hand and let the boss fall from the window.
There was a scream, followed by the sound of bones breaking, but Bruce did not care.
He walked into the house.
The others were so scared that they could not help but tremble. Their lips turned blue, and even their hair fell out. Especially the mercenaries who were rather strong and powerful viewed Bruce as something far more than a normal human being.
It was too late for them to regret now.
“I’ll give you ten minutes to clean up this place.”
“Then go and turn yourself in. If I don’t see you at the police station tomorrow, you know what will happen to you, right?” Bruce said with a threatening tone.
In fact, he had no way of knowing whether they would go or not. If they didn’t go, he wouldn’t have really found out.
But he had to be oppressive and let them understand the consequences.
Sure enough, they nodded their heads as tears kept flowing. With silent cries, their work was unprecedentedly fast. Even the blood stains in the floor crevices were cleaned out.
Although the mercenaries’ bodies were fractured to different degrees, they gritted their teeth and continued to work.
Even the two men whose bones were exposed endured the pain and helped clean up.
Bruce just looked at everything calmly.
He sure was not a philanthropist, and not someone to be bullied.
It was impossible for him to do nothing when he faced the people who wanted to hurt him.
It was merciful of Bruce to let them go to the police station themselves.
Ten minutes later…
Twenty people walked out of the building while helping each other. They didn’t even dare to look back at the fourth floor.
Seeing that the boss was still breathing, everyone helped him up and went to the hospital.
..
“Alright, everything is settled. Go to sleep,” Bruce said to Aurora as he removed the blanket in front of her.
Aurora was a little nervous. Although she couldn’t see, she was still scared when she heard the screams.
She wanted to take a peek, but she didn’t have the courage.
“Bruce, please.”
“Don’t kill them… whether they did something bad or not, I don’t want you to kill anyone…”
Although Aurora understood that what they did was completely evil, she didn’t want Bruce to kill anyone.
Evil would be punished by justice. Bruce was justice. But he wasn’t a police officer. He didn’t have the right to punish them. If he did that, he would be considered a murderer.
“I’ve let them go already. I’ll go to the police station and surrender myself tomorrow. Don’t worry.” Sometimes, all it takes is a white lie.
Without a word, the night passed.
The next morning, Aurora brought them to the developers’ building.
This time, their attitude towards the matter had changed.
There was no hesitation or struggle.
“Miss Aurora, you’re finally here. We’ve prepared the plan earlier.”
“After a discussion, we find that the ideas you proposed yesterday were completely possible.”
The group of people who were originally pumped up suddenly froze.
‘They were still giving all sorts of excuses yesterday.’
‘Now, they agree?!’
‘No way! What happened last night?’
Everyone was shocked.
Then, all the higher-ups of the developers walked out. There was a hint of fear in their eyes as they stood in a row and bowed to the Aurora. Their leader said, “The conditions of the apartment was indeed our fault. I’m sorry to have troubled you. The demolition and reconstruction plan will start in the next few days. All of you can go back now.”
The crowd could not accept hearing this.
“Just a few words and you want us to leave? That’s impossible!”
“Right! You don’t know the seriousness of this matter at all. You’re saying this now because you want to pass the buck, don’t you?!”
“In the next few days?! How many days to be exact?! We’re all very concerned about this!”
“Yeah, that’s right. Aren’t just passing the buck?!”
“You won’t even acknowledge this matter once we leave. We want an explanation!”
The crowd behind Aurora shouted. They couldn’t accept this outcome.
“It’s fine. I believe they’ve changed. We’ll give the developers a week. If there’s still no change after that, we’ll come again.”
At this moment, Aurora was surrounded by the sunlight. It was as if her entire being had been sublimated. Her words were very convincing.
