Chapter 352: Chapter 321: Blown Away _1
The giant snake in front of him was so colossal it struck terror into Xu Mu’s heart, he could only reason it as being a True Spirit creature.
The so-called gust of strong wind earlier was probably just a result of the behemoth’s movement, he was merely unfortunate to have been caught in the aftermath.
Being in the presence of such a terrifying creature, regardless of how badly injured Xu Mu was, he did not dare to make a single movement for fear of drawing its attention.
Luckily, the colossal creature didn’t seem to notice him, presumably, he was less significant than an ant in its eyes.
The snake closed its eyes and opened its giant mouth, like a typical person yawning due to tiredness.
Meanwhile, a terrifying suction force emerged, drawing Xu Mu’s uncontrollable body towards the snake’s gaping mouth.
If he were to fly into it, wouldn’t death be certain?
Xu Mu struggled desperately but was powerless, the gap between them was simply too vast.
At that moment, Xu Mu noticed a large number of rocks, trees, and even some blue crystals piled up at the corner of the snake’s mouth.
Could it be that the island where the Creation Heavenly Pond is located is situated on this lips of this colossal beast?
“…”
He had been so close to such a terrifying creature’s mouth for so long, it simply left him speechless.
What does the Creation Heavenly Pond have to do with this colossal creature?
Even though he couldn’t guess, he felt certain there must be a connection.
Only now, he had neither the time nor the opportunity to ponder it, as he was on the brink of being sucked into the snake’s mouth.
Perhaps the giant snake was Princess Iron Fan, but he was definitely not the Monkey King. If he went in, the outcome would be death.
As he got closer and closer to the mouth of the snake, Xu Mu’s vision began to darken and just as he was about to be sucked in completely, the suction force suddenly stopped. Immediately after, an even more fearsome impact appeared, blowing Xu Mu away.
The force was stronger this time around, so much so that Xu Mu was unable to capture the fluctuating scenery around him. Everything around him had turned bizarre, as if he was experiencing hallucinations out of physical weakness.
He tried to maintain his consciousness until he completely blacked out.
“…”
“Cough, cough!”
Still in a daze, Xu Mu felt a tightness in his chest, and it was only after coughing up a mouthful of blood with all his strength that he felt slightly better.
And alongside this cough, his consciousness slowly started to recover.
“Dad! Mom! He’s awake!”
A young, naive voice echoed next to him. Xu Mu slowly opened his eyes, blinking a few times unsettled by the sudden exposure to light, he then took in his surrounding situation.
There were three people standing in front of him, a middle-aged man, a middle-aged woman, and a five or six year old child.
The three of them were dressed in simple and rugged cloth clothing, clearly identifiable as ordinary people.
At this time, the three of them were leaning over looking at him, their eyes filled with astonishment.
“He’s really awake! Third son, go and notify the Divine Envoy!” the middle-aged man said.
“Alright!”
The child then scampered off without delay.
“Can you hear me speaking, do you need some water?”
The middle-aged man waved his hand in front of Xu Mu’s eyes as he asked.
“No need! Thank you!” Xu Mu managed to respond.
He noticed that his mouth seemed to be wrapped with fabric, making it difficult to speak. Of course, the main reason was his body was severely weak.
At this point, he felt even lifting a finger was an effort.
Why does it always have to end up like this?
Sigh!
Xu Mu sighed mournfully in his heart.
He had originally thought he would be able to smoothly recover his life force but, as he was about to succeed, he unluckily encountered a True Spirit creature awakening.
The only bright spot was that he was still alive.
“Did you all save me?” Xu Mu asked.
“Not us! We do not possess that ability!” the middle-aged man said hurriedly waving his hands.
“The Divine Envoy rescued you from outside and temporarily placed you in our home, asking me and my wife to look after you!”
“Divine Envoy?”
Xu Mu guessed in his heart that it might be a cultivator stationed nearby.
“Yes! The Divine Envoy is the guardian deity of our island, without him, we couldn’t live in the surrounding sea area!” the middle-aged man expressed worshipfully.
Island? Sea area? Looks like I’m still at sea!
Xu Mu thought to himself.
However, from what he knew, due to the harsh environment, ordinary people were supposed to live along the coast near the Misty Sea.
Moreover, the Northern Domain had a cold climate, unless it was a cultivator, ordinary people could not possibly wear clothes as thin as the two people in front of him.
There is no white mist around, this should not be in the Misty Sea, could I have been blown to another sea area?
“Where is this place?”
“This is White Swallow Island!”
“White Swallow Island?”
Xu Mu tried to recall, but couldn’t remember any such place, which further confirmed his thoughts.
He had previously lived on the Northern Coast for over half a year and was quite familiar with the surrounding environment. There was no island called White Swallow Island.
“Which sect manages this area?” Xu Mu asked.
“Sect? What’s that?” the middle-aged man wondered.
“…”
The middle-aged man’s reaction caused a jolt of shock in Xu Mu’s mind.
How remote is this place if it doesn’t even have a sect?
It couldn’t possibly be a closed-off region, could it?
“Then who is in charge here?”
“Of course, it’s the Divine Envoy! But for minor matters, we have a village chief!”
“And who governs the Divine Envoy?”
Hearing Xu Mu omit the formal title, the couple’s faces turned slightly sour, but they still responded, “The Divine Envoy comes from the White Scale Tribe, so of course, the White Scale Tribe should govern him!”.
“White Scale Tribe?”
The name sounded very familiar. Multiple thoughts flashed through Xu Mu’s mind, and the next moment, a sudden realization dawned on him.
The White Scale Tribe seemed to be a small community within the Sea Race, similar to the Blue Scale Tribe he had previously encountered in the Outer Sea.
Xu Mu’s heart pounded uncontrollably.
Could I possibly have made it to the Outer Sea of Cangming Ocean Territory?
Wrong, it’s also possible that I made it to a sea area inhabited by the Sea Race!
However, if I did make it to a sea area inhabited by the Sea Race, then why do the names remain the same?
Couldn’t possibly be that coincidental, could it?
Suppressing his excitement, Xu Mu asked, “Is the White Scale Tribe governed by the Sea Race Empire? Have you heard of the Blue Scale Tribe, and the seven great King Clans?”
“I…”
The middle-aged man was about to reply, but a woman wearing a mask walked in, interrupting him.
The woman was dressed in a white robe with a tall and slender figure, a slim waist, clear, water-like eyes, black hair coiled up and secured at the back of her head with a white stone hairpin, her face, unfortunately, was covered with a mask.
“You two can leave! I’ll talk to him!” the masked woman said flatly.
Her voice was crisp, carrying a sense of cold indifference that kept others at arm’s length.
“Yes!”
Upon seeing the masked woman, the couple quickly excused themselves.
“Thank you for your life-saving grace,” A bedridden Xu Mu, his body wrapped in bandages, said gratefully.
“A fellow Taoist? Humph!”
The masked woman sneered, “You indeed are a Human Clan cultivator! Spill it, how did you end up here? What is your purpose? If you don’t make it clear, don’t even think about leaving alive!”
