Chapter 56: A Demonic Laughter
Inside the room, Mo Ye heard the voice outside his room, and corners of his lips twitched.
A monk that was only partially a monk, who claims not being a disciple of Buddhism when murdering someone, yet persuaded Mo Ye in the name of Buddha when begging for alms. While the little monk was consuming meat and wine now, he had probably forgotten that his head was bald.
The inn manager on the first floor heard the voice from upstairs and looked up. When he saw the little monk shouting, he was stunned for a moment before asking, “Little Master, do you need any vegetarian dishes?”
“It’s okay, just bring up according to what I said. Be quick.” Tang Ning leaned against the fence while waiting happily. After so many days, she could finally consume some meat. It had been a tumultuous journey!
“Little Master, the wine and dishes will be ready soon, please wait for a moment.” The attendant went up the stairs and opened a room for Tang Ning. The attendant then poured some hot tea and quietly left the room.
“Attendant, buy me two sets of clothes from a clothes store. Put them on the tabs of the man in the next room, he will pay for everything tomorrow.” Tang Ning smiled and told the attendant.
“Understood.” The attendant responded and left the room after glancing at Tang Ning.
Shortly after, the wine and food were served. Tang Ning closed the door and called Blackie, “Blackie, come here and eat! All of these are yours! You will never starve if you follow me.”
Blackie was already craving for the food when it smelled the aroma of the meat. Looking at the plate full of chicken and beef paste, it flew over and started eating happily, even forgetting to reply to Tang Ning.
After the meal, Tang Ning finally took a bath and bandaged the wounds on her shoulder. She then wore the new set of clothes and lay on the bed.
“Phew! I finally feel like I am alive.”
Blackie also lay on the bed beside Tang Ning as it asked softly, “Tang Tang, are we really following that man to his house? What if we can’t get out?”
Tang Ning stretched her back and replied, “That man is from a distinguished background. Going to his mansion would just be an eye-opening experience, so what is there to worry about? Also, if we really left now, then with our strong affinity with him, I believe it won’t be long before we would bump into him again. Wouldn’t it be more troublesome then?”
Tang Ning yawned and continued. “Sleep, sleep! It is rare to get such a good night’s sleep.” As soon as her words fell, Tang Ning closed her eyes and went into a deep sleep.
12 pm the next day.
Tang Ning followed Mo Ye to the entrance of a majestic looking mansion. After looking at the plaque with the words ‘Prince Ye Mansion,’ she could not help but look at the man beside her.
So he really was a Prince!
“Master!” The guards at the gate immediately bowed and greeted him respectfully upon seeing him. They greeted him as Master and not His Royal Highness.
After greeting Mo Ye, the two guards scanned the little monk walking beside their Master from the corners of their eyes.
“Master!”
Black Wind rushed out of the mansion, and after spotting the little monk walking beside his Master, his eyes lit up, and he said, “Master managed to catch this little monk back? Should I send him to the underground dungeon? I will immediately…”
Before Black Wind could finish, he was interrupted by the cries of a crow.
“Caw! Caw!” Blackie shouted at Black Wind. If Black Wind could understand the language of animals, he would have known that Blackie was scolding him!
Tang Ning patted Blackie’s head and smiled faintly. “Let’s not care about the idiot.”
But soon, Tang Ning’s smile suddenly fell because…
“Hahaha! Idiot! Idiot!”
Blackie raised its head proudly, and a peal of demonic laughter burst out from its little beak, even scolding Black Wind as ‘Idiot’ twice. At that moment, it became strangely quiet, and everyone in the surrounding turned to look at the crow standing on the little monk’s shoulder in shock one after another.
