Chapter 393: Chapter 393: Terrifying Output (Seeking Monthly Tickets)
“Tan Hua, you should consider joining our guild. As you can see, it’s flourishing and full of talented players. But what’s best is that everyone knows their role and we all get along great. Many pros just want to try it out, but soon enough, they find themselves fitting right into our circle,” Li Yao said while Tan Hua, also known as Ephemeral Bloom, was off pulling monster aggro.
Tan Hua responded, “Don’t flatter yourself. You’re just interested in my combo aura, aren’t you? But I must correct you, the combo aura is not my ability, it’s just one of my buff aura types, and it only works for a team of five.”
Lucky Star: Three Lucky Stars are refreshed daily, and each player can flip one Lucky Star daily to randomly gain a squad buff.
Buff skills include: Heavy Strike, Combo, Armor Gain, Magic Resist Gain, Stamina Gain, Agility Gain…
Strictly speaking, this buff is decent, but it’s rather unstable, and it’s randomly assigned one type per day, which is far less reliable than always having the combo buff.
However, Li Yao felt relieved upon understanding. If the combo aura could be used all the time, that would be godly. His doubts were eased; he thought he had forgotten about this ability, but it seems his memory hadn’t failed him.
“I see, but this ability is still quite potent,” Li Yao remarked.
“What, no guild invitation this time?” Tan Hua joked.
“Of course not, I’ve already sent out my invitation. You see, skilled players like you are hard to come by,” Li Yao said. “Starfire Guild’s battle team is also in the works. Whether you’re into dungeon raids, competitions, or just casual play, it’s an excellent choice.”
“Alright, I’ll consider it. Get ready, I’m bringing the monsters over,” said Tan Hua.
“We’ve been ready,” responded Li Yao without pressing further. It’s entirely up to Tan Hua after all. He’s extending the invitation simply because Ephemeral Bloom is exceedingly skilled.
Alarm Robot
Rank: Level 17 Elite
HP: 30,000
Armor: 600
Abilities: Alarm, Red Current, Power Boost, Self-Destruct
Battle Robot
Rank: Level 17, 1-star Elite
HP: 35,000
Armor: 700
Abilities: Mechanical Strike, Mad Drill, Overload, Electric Shock, Alarm Chain
The monsters they’re facing are mostly these two types, along with some other Star-ranked monsters and Silver Elites.
While these robots serve as alarms and don’t have significant individual fighting capabilities, they usually move in packs.
Upon engagement, both the Alarm Robot and the Battle Robot will trigger an alarm, calling nearby robots for backup—a sheer swarm tactic.
Li Yao saw Tan Hua and her Shadow God running from two channels, pursued by a horde of robots, their alarms blaring.
“Our turn then. Little Cold Hands, prepare your maximum output.” Li Yao took his sniper rifle and aimed at the slowly approaching monsters, and fired.
The robot’s alarm echoed from their side as well, triggering a chain-reaction, causing the robots from their tube to rush towards them frenziedly.
With the alarm sounding, it’s as if some defense system was initiated. The closed pipe openings opened, and Battle Robots continuously emerged from within.
Instantly, Battle Robots flowed into the quiet zone from three directions.
With a swoosh, a hook lock latched onto a stone pillar on their platform, pulling Tan Hua over.
“Your turn now.”
“You go and attract monsters.” Li Yao said as he pulled the trigger.
At the sound of the gunshot, Little Cold Hands, Arrow Tower, Cannons, and Death God 4000 all launched their attacks.
A vast array of damage numbers filled the screen on the corner of Li Yao’s vision.
Li Yao’s damage was already absurdly high, and with buffs from Little Cold Hands, it became even more terrifying, each bullet inflicting four to five thousand damage points on the Battle Robots.
Although incomparable to the Golden Puppet, it is far higher than an average player’s damage. It’s worth noting that Little Cold Hands has only over a thousand damage, even with the buffs.
Moreover, it was a combo.
The gathered mobs were dense, and their scatter shot was equally concentrated, forming a terrifying barrage of bullets.
Death God 4000’s Rocket Cannon, Cannons, and Arrow Tower could all deal massive damage all at once.
Especially the penetrating Arrow Tower. With one shot per second coupled with the combo effect, it was two arrows per second. They could penetrate more than a hundred yards, and a string of damage numbers floated up.
The combo effect was indeed terrifying. The first wave of monsters fell to the ground in just two seconds.
“You monster,” Tan Hua gasped.
Even though she was expecting it, witnessing Li Yao’s insanely high output still left her shocked. These monsters each had over thirty thousand HP and were cleared out within a brief moment. No matter how you look at it, even with the combo effect, it was still too overpowered.
“Thank you for the compliment, but don’t just stand there, keep leading more monsters here.” Even Li Yao himself was startled by this effect.
“When I said ‘monster,’ I was referring to your exp growth, not you,” retorted Tan Hua, as she moved into stealth mode and ventured out again.
“Master, how did you get your Arrow Tower and Cannons?” Little Cold Hands asked, her eyes glowing.
“For the Arrow Tower, if you’re lucky, you can get it from a level 20 tutor. Cannons require blueprints. These blueprints are not too rare. If you’re observant, you should be able to find them. It’s best if you make them yourself,” Li Yao explained.
“Oh, okay,” Little Cold Hands said, her confidence in the Mechanical Hunter now overflowing. Of course, she had no idea that Li Yao wasn’t a transitioned Mechanical Hunter but possessed the Titan Equipment’s special effects. Plus, even if she did get the Cannon and Arrow Tower, their power wouldn’t be comparable to Li Yao’s.
The trio’s experience points began to skyrocket. As the robots drew closer, Li Yao swapped Death God 4000 for Hydra. With Hydra’s Floating Snow, the robots couldn’t get near him. They were slow and killed instantly.
Every few seconds, a wave of robots fell, and the mechanical bodies were absorbed by the earth, leaving behind loots. Little Cold Hands’ Mechanical War Bear was specially assigned to pick up the loot.
In less than half an hour, as expected, Li Yao, who was already on the verge of leveling up, had his experience points maxed and advanced to level 17.
Many players who were fighting for leaderboard ranks noticed this.
Many of them cursed, as they struggled to level up, not sparing even the monster-frenzy nights, hoping to grab Li Yao’s number one spot on the experience leaderboard.
But now, just when they were about to succeed, Prairie Fire aka Li Yao began to level up like crazy.
The leaderboard refreshed every five minutes. Many people kept an eye on it, slowly being driven to despair each time they saw Li Yao’s experience points rocket up…
PS: As someone with such slow hand speed, I definitely can’t sprint. I hit writer’s block, and it’s not fun…
