Why did he chase after her?
Olivia slapped his hand away and threw the jacket back to him.
“You don’t have to.”
Robert hadn’t expected that Olivia would reject him so spectacularly. He was slightly taken aback before smiling calmly.
“I think you might have misunderstood my relationship with Sophia.” Robert shrugged. “I met Sophia not long ago. We saw each other at this banquet, so we chatted for a while.”
Olivia replied with a lack of interest, “I’m a married woman. Why are you explaining so much to me?” She turned to leave, but just as she took a step forward, a large hand grabbed her wrist.
“Do you hate me that much? This seems to be the first time we’ve met, though.” Robert looked at Olivia with his bright eyes. However, she knew that Robert was a vicious person with a sweet tongue, so she didn’t fall for it.
“Mr. Robert, I’m already married.” Olivia’s voice carried an obvious sense of alienation as she shook the ring on her slender finger.
“I see.” Robert raised his eyebrows and smiled. He walked over to Olivia and looked down at her exquisite face.
“Miss Olivia is really pitiful. Brian specializes in being domineering. He’s a good business partner, but as a husband, he is too cold.” As he spoke, Robert suddenly reached out and caressed Olivia’s porcelain-like face.
He lowered his head and looked deeply at Olivia. He then said softly in a low and charming voice, “Such a beautiful person like you needs a man who knows your feelings and is willing to warm you up. Brian is obviously not suitable.”
“You know my feelings? Someone who’s willing to warm me up?” Olivia tilted her head to avoid him, a mocking smile hanging on her lips. “Are you talking about yourself?
“Brian… The owner of hundreds of large and small companies. He is the youngest and richest person in this city. At the same time, he is also my legal husband.
“May I ask where Mr. Robert got the confidence that I would leave him and go into the arms of a small entrepreneur like you?”
Olivia’s voice was as cold as ice. “Could it be that you want to outdo him in bed?”
She looked down at him with disgust, as if she was looking at a dead dog. “Forgive me for saying this, but you don’t deserve it.”
When Olivia said this, her tone was ruthless and harsh, with a hint of mockery and coldness.
Even someone as thick-skinned as Robert could not help but change his expression. Just as he was about to pull Olivia away, there was a commotion behind him.
The host of this banquet, Mark Glenn, was standing beside Brian in a suit. No matter where he was, this man was the most eye-catching.
Beside him was Laura Smith, who was dressed beautifully.
When Olivia saw this scene, she was slightly stunned. This was one of the few people she had acknowledged in her previous life. Now that she saw her again, she still felt a sense of familiarity.
However, Mark Glenn? Unless…
As expected, Mark Glenn announced his collaboration with Brian.
Just as she was about to step forward, she heard Mark say with a smile, “Mr. Brian, thank you for coming today. You even brought your wife to work. It seems that although you are young, you are very loyal!”
Mark’s voice was loud enough for everyone present to hear.
Laura did not expect him to misunderstand. She tugged on Brian’s sleeve awkwardly, seemingly wanting him to explain. However, Mark noticed such an intimate action. It was no different from being shy.
Hence, he laughed and continued praising her. “It seems like your wife is a little embarrassed. She’s really cute!”
At that moment, Olivia happened to be walking beside a group of noble ladies. They thought that Brian did not fancy Olivia and would even bring his lover to attend such an event. In an instant, there were endless mocking comments.
“Tsk, tsk, tsk. Look at Brian. He just got married, yet he dares to bring his lover around. He’s really bold.”
“What’s there to be brave about? It’s just that the one at home isn’t capable enough.”
“Have you heard? That woman married into the Ford family because she was pregnant. Otherwise, given her background, what right does she have to marry him?”
“It seems that even if they’re married, she still can’t keep this ill-gotten relationship.”
The discussion was very loud. Besides Mark, who didn’t understand the situation, everyone’s expressions were very interesting.
Olivia narrowed her eyes as she sized up Laura.
This woman was indeed faking her innocence.
Sister? Bullsh*t!
Olivia walked elegantly to Brian’s side and held his muscular arm. “Hubby, when did you have a sister? Why didn’t I know?”
Her words were full of allure. Even Mark was stunned, not knowing what was going on.
Brian didn’t say anything for a long time. He slowly let go of Laura’s hand and explained, “The Smith family and our Ford family are old friends. She’s younger than me, so she’s considered my younger sister.”
Everyone was stunned, and they looked at each other. No one expected him to give an explanation.
Laura was even more surprised and stood there awkwardly.
Now that Brian actually explained it in front of so many people, Laura secretly clenched her fists. A trace of resentment flashed across her eyes, but it was quickly concealed.
Olivia subconsciously looked at Brian, feeling flattered.
Brian looked at Robert, who was behind her, and his already ugly expression turned even darker.
He took advantage of the situation and wrapped his arm around the bewildered Olivia’s waist, firmly holding her in his arms. He turned his head and looked meaningfully at Mark.
“Mr. Glenn, this is my wife. The one who just stood beside me is my sister.”
As he said that, Brian’s dark and cold gaze swept across the ladies who were gossiping earlier. With just one look, those ladies lowered their heads and did not dare to look into his eyes.
His last gaze was fixed on Robert.
Mark seemed to be a little embarrassed. The scene of him apologizing to Olivia once again caused a commotion.
Mark Glenn was a wealthy European businessman. How could he put down his pride and apologize to a woman who had used her pregnancy to climb up the social ladder?
In the end, everyone attributed this to Brian. Who was Olivia without his protection?
After saying goodbye to Mark, the two of them walked out.
Olivia could clearly feel the low pressure that Brian was exuding. She deliberately slowed down and followed behind him.
Unexpectedly, Brian suddenly turned around, grabbed Olivia, and stuffed her into the car. In the blink of an eye, he leaned forward, grabbed her chin tightly, and kissed her slightly opened pink lips.
A cold aura mixed with tobacco assailed her nostrils. When she smelled it, she couldn’t breathe, and her mouth was filled with the smell of iron.
Olivia pushed Brian away and wiped her torn lips. She shouted, “Are you crazy!?”
Brian narrowed his eyes and grabbed Olivia’s chin, forcing her to look at him. “Olivia, remember your identity! After marrying me, you’re a part of the Ford family. Discard your promiscuous attitude!”
Brian’s tone was cold, and his eyes were filled with anger.
Olivia didn’t look too good either. She suddenly recalled the scene at the banquet.
What had this man seen?
She suddenly sneered and leaned back in her chair. “I think you’re delusional. What right do you have to criticize me? Didn’t you leave me behind to flirt with Laura Smith?”
After saying that, Olivia could not be bothered to look at Brian anymore. She sat in the car and looked out of the window without saying a word.
The air in the car was terrifyingly cold.
