Chapter 42: Fleye
A huge crowd of people were gathered at the entrance to Lin Yu’s classroom. Their gazes were full of curiosity, and it seemed as if they were watching monkeys at a zoo.
It was unclear how many people were there, but there were at least a hundred. It was obvious why they were here; they wanted to watch Xu Zhaoyang, the Super Livestream Hero.
The SLSH platform was not much different from normal livestream platforms. It just had different backgrounds, livestream content, and streamers. Additionally, the platforms were different in their live broadcasts’ classifications.
The SLSH platform did not classify broadcasts according to content but did so according to regions and cities. It was pretty easy to guess the purpose of doing so was to give the Awakened Superhumans work in their respective areas. It would also create ‘heroes’ in localities to reduce public panic and maintain stability.
The first batch of Super Livestream Heroes included a small group of Awakened Superhumans that the Relevant Department successfully contacted. However, as the capital of the province, Changhai only had over 200 Super Livestream Heroes.
The 200 people were spread all over the city, and there were only two from Changhai Vocational College—Xu Zhaoyang and Zhao Xiaolu.
After knowing that there are Super Livestream Heroes in their own campus, Changhai Vocational College’s students were definitely going to satisfy their curiosity. This was the same idea as stalking a celebrity, and it was different seeing something on social media compared to seeing it in person. Given how popular this topic was at the moment, It was cool to be able to talk about seeing a Super Livestream Hero in person.
…
Ring, ring~
The class bell rang, signaling the end of a long lesson. The classroom, filled with students who were not paying much attention anyway, erupted into a noisy supermarket immediately.
“Brother Xu, quick, turn on your livestream. I want to get on TV.”
“Elder Brother Xu…”
“Senior Xu…”
After class ended, Xu Zhaoyang was surrounded by a crowd. His classmates managed to keep their cool after spending time with him in class for the past two days, but the ‘fans’ outside the classroom excitedly rushed towards Xu Zhaoyang. It was as if he was a superstar.
Xu Zhaoyang was happy. Although the excitement had been going on for days, he was not sick of it at all and was floating in the air.
“Brother Xu, show your superpower. I’ve never seen the superpower of an Awakened Superhuman.”
“Yes, senior, please show us something.”
The crowd chanted and were asking for the same thing—they wanted Xu Zhaoyang to show his superpower. It was tough for adults to resist the existence of superpowers, let alone students who were at the age of having vivid imaginations.
“Fine, I’ll do something. Wait, let me turn on the livestream.”
Xu Zhaoyang was all smiles as he waved to the crowd proudly and pulled out a black, square-shaped cardboard box from his drawer.
The black cardboard box seemed like any other box for makeup. There were no patterns on the box, but it had a concave logo of a silver Charge Blade printed on its lid. The words ‘Super Livestream Hero’ were printed under the logo.
A white, oval-shaped ball was seen when the box was opened. It seemed like an egg, and there was a black camera on its side. After taking it out, four small cylinders that were embedded with fan blades could be seen under the ball. It looked like a cute tiny rocket.
Xu Zhaoyang turned on the tiny rocket and tapped on the black electronic watch on his right wrist. The fan blades began to move quickly at the bottom of the cute tiny rocket. It began flying and automatically followed behind Xu Zhaoyang.
This was a black tech that the SLSH platform gave to its streamers—a Fleye[1].
Truth be told, it was similar to a drone but had an intelligent control algorithm. It could automatically follow its owner and choose an appropriate shooting angle. Basically, one would not have to worry about the Fleye after turning it on. It could also be operated through voice control and a control watch during a livestream.
“Hello everyone, this is Mighty Miracle God. I’ll cut the nonsense and show you some fun as per usual.”
The SLSH platform was doing better than other conventional livestream platforms because of its special position. The number of users who were online at a time was at an all-time high and soon after turning on his livestream, Xu Zhaoyang had a huge number of viewers thanks to the system’s push notification.
The SLSH platform was still new from its launch so the audience was not picky; they would watch anyone, and even more so if it was a local Super Livestream Hero.
Xu Zhaoyang was already a vlogger himself, so he was not nervous at all during live streams. He greeted his audience per usual and began showing off his superpower.
His ability was simple—he could enlarge his body, and after the enlargement, his physique would significantly improve as well. That was why he named himself the Mighty Miracle God. However, he had yet to be able to do it with his whole body, but even enlarging his leg and stomping it was enough to win him cheers and praise.
“Good!”
“Elder Brother Xu is awesome!”
“Do it again!”
After showing off a little, both the livestream and scene blew up as everyone cheered for Xu Zhaoyang.
However, no matter how much the comments section and the classmates at the scene begged him, Xu Zhaoyang did not continue showing off.
He was smart about it and was intelligent enough to be pretty popular on B site even without superpowers anyway. Although the Relevant Department wanted Super Livestream Heroes to fight 2D Lifeforms, the policy had yet to be carried out. That was why these Super Livestream Heroes were no different from normal streamers.
It would be tolerable to show off one’s superpowers once or twice but otherwise, it would not have any worth anymore when everyone got over their curiosity of it. By then, their livestreams would be no match for the normal streamers who relied on content, so it was necessary to keep the audience interested.
How did the saying go again? The grass is always greener on the other side. This was a great saying by the ancestors.
“I can’t do it anymore, superpowers are taxing on the dark energy and I’ve just obtained this awakened superpower not long ago.”
“How about this? This is my brother, the famous Prop Master. He’s just as great as Awakened Superhumans. Let him show you his Exo gauntlet that is capable of beating up Awakened Superhumans.”
Xu Zhaoyang continued speaking to the crowd while pulling Lin Yu next to him to advertise his craft like a loyal friend.
Unfortunately, the Exo gauntlet was no longer viral. Moreover, superpowers were more shocking and terrifying at the moment so the crowd was not really into the gauntlet and neither was the livestream audience. Although Lin Yu demonstrated his gauntlet while thinking that he was just a supporting act to Xu Zhaoyang’s livestream, the response was mediocre.
