Chapter 340: Chapter 340: Searching for Her Evidence of Crime_1
Ye Qilan was standing at the doorway of the bathroom, where the sound of a flushing toilet could be heard, seemingly mixed with other noises.
Just as he was trying to listen more carefully, Liu Qingyin’s voice suddenly sounded from behind him: “Why are you trying to eavesdrop, ex-brother-in-law? Is my sister hiding some man in the bathroom?”
Ye Qilan whirled around: “Who let you in?!”
For some reason, although Liu Qingyin was young and her laughter harmless, he felt wary of her.
A girl so young yet so cunning was surely no good.
“Getting in was easy. I just said I was carrying your child, and Miss Ye immediately opened the door for me,” Liu Qingyin said, implying something as she glanced towards the doorway.
Ye Qilan followed her gaze and sure enough, there was Ye Ling standing at the door, opening and closing her mouth as if unsure of what to say.
“Fourth brother, this woman said that she is carrying your child, and if I didn’t open the door…”,
Under Ye Qilan’s glare, Ye Ling’s voice faded.
But, she had clearly heard this woman call Ye Qilan her ex-brother-in-law.
“Alright, go out,” Ye Qilan didn’t like Liu Qingyin at all, and only wanted this annoying presence to go away.
Ye Ling echoed a reply and couldn’t help asking: “Who exactly is she?”
“My family name is Liu, first name Qingyin, Su Hongxing is my sister.”
As soon as Ye Ling heard Su Hongxing’s name, she felt disturbed.
She didn’t like Su Hongxing, so she certainly wouldn’t like Liu Qingyin either.
“I’m a bit thirsty, go get me some tea,” Liu Qingyin ordered Ye Ling around as if she were a maid.
Ye Ling’s face darkened: “Who do you think you are, ordering me around?!”
“You have the look of a lowly servant, who else would I issue orders to?” Liu Qingyin retorted nonchalantly.
Before Ye Ling could retort, Ye Qilan, having had enough of their bickering, sternly commanded, “Both of you, get out!”
Ye Ling was always intimidated by Ye Qilan, so as soon as he spoke, she hurriedly left.
However, Liu Qingyin didn’t have any intention of leaving. She wandered around the room and then sauntered over to the bathroom door, knocking hard: “Big sis, you’re not thinking of doing something drastic in there, are you?”
Su Hongxing had just finished a bout of dry retching and was starting to feel better.
She took a deep breath, looked at her reflection in the mirror to ensure everything was okay, and then opened the door.
Ye Qilan’s gaze lingered on Su Hongxing’s face, as if searching for evidence of her guilt.
Su Hongxing felt extremely guilty and uneasy. She quickly grabbed Liu Qingyin’s arm and smilingly said, “You’ll sleep with me tonight.”
Liu Qingyin happily agreed, nodding energetically: “Sure.”
Next, Su Hongxing and Liu Qingyin started discussing women’s issues.
Ye Qilan found that he had nothing to contribute to the conversation.
Added to the fact that Su Hongxing deliberately ignored him, he felt like a third wheel.
“Qingyin, go out for a bit. I need to speak with Su Hongxing alone,” Ye Qilan issued an eviction command.
Liu Qingyin pretended not to hear, continuing to chat and laugh with Su Hongxing.
Seeing he was getting nowhere, Ye Qilan stepped forward, grabbed Liu Qingyin’s arm, and roughly dragged her out of the room.
Liu Qingyin wasn’t one to be picked on. In the process of being dragged and thrown out, she left several scratches on Ye Qilan’s hand.
At the last moment, she managed to give Ye Qilan’s knee a hard kick.
Having finally gotten rid of the troublesome Liu Qingyin, Ye Qilan sat down next to Su Hongxing: “Your complexion doesn’t look well, are you sick?”
“I have a stomachache and have had diarrhea for the last couple of days,” Su Hongxing replied in a soft voice.
