Chapter 473: Chapter 474: Don’t Want to Part with You (4)
The two looked at each other, opening their mouths to speak simultaneously, “You go first.”
After a moment, it was Qin Zhiyou who spoke first, “You go first.”
Lu Weixi pursed her lips, thought for a while, only then daring to speak with resolve, “Zhiyou, I think, maybe we should break…”
Before she could even finish, her lips were sealed shut by Qin Zhiyou.
He wouldn’t accept a breakup, nor a divorce! He knew that Lu’s mother was her most important emotional pillar, but after all, parents can’t accompany their children for life; in the end, they must still leave their children.
Companion, companion, young couple turned old companions, only companions are the ones who can accompany one till the end. Why should he break up or divorce?
He leaned in abruptly, angrier than usual. Eventually, with considerable effort, Lu Weixi managed to free herself from his grip, “Zhiyou, listen to me. I didn’t say we have to get divorced immediately, but…”
A divorce in the future then? What should they break, their cohabitation or their relationship? Qin Zhiyou’s brows furrowed deeply, his determination even more visible.
Lu Weixi finally managed to free herself from his grasp. Visibly annoyed, she said, “Zhiyou, can you let me finish speaking?”
Pushing Qin Zhiyou away, she saw irritation spread across his face. Deep down, though, he was shocked and anxious. He knew that Lu Weixi was a resolute person—if she decided on a divorce, it meant she was serious.
“No matter what, I will not divorce you.” Qin Zhiyou voiced his stance.
Want a divorce? Not a chance!
“I didn’t say I wanted a real divorce. You know my mom’s situation. Now her heart’s set on our divorce. I can’t go against her wishes!”
You can’t go against her? Then what about me? With a mixture of anxiety and anger in his heart, Qin Zhiyou had no choice but to suppress his emotions and ask, “So what do you want to do?”
After some thought, Lu Weixi replied, “I mean, we should separate for a while. Or at least, we should act like we’re breaking up in front of my mom.”
“Will we still live together? Would there be paperwork for the separation? And should we inform grandpa?”
Lu Weixi hesitated before answering, “We don’t need to for now. My mom is in the hospital, she doesn’t know much about our situation. Just saying that we have broken up should be enough to convince her.”
“Really? To me, your mom doesn’t seem that easy to fool.” Qin Zhiyou replied calmly, “If you say we’re separating, we’ll need some proof. A divorce certificate, or at least a separation agreement. What will we do then?”
Lu Weixi paused. She knew that Qin Zhiyou needed her now, needed their marriage. To win over his grandfather, as well as to shut the mouths of the second and third households. But if word of her split or divorce from Qin Zhiyou got out, the grandfather might no longer support their marriage.
On top of that, if Qin Zhiyou divorced her, he could find a suitable replacement in no time. Wasn’t Fang Rushuang already available?
If they chose to divorce, it might just turn from a facade into reality.
“You can tell your mom that we’re preparing to separate. I won’t go to her to make my presence felt. But I refuse to divorce, refuse to separate, and refuse to sign any agreement,” Qin Zhiyou responded resolutely, reiterating, “In my dictionary, there are only marriage and divorce, nothing in between. Think it through.”
