“I…I’m going to bed. Didn’t you say that we don’t have to sleep in separate rooms anymore?
Wind Chen held Queena Ye in his arms.
Her mild fragrance and exquisite facial features made Wind Chen’s heart palpitate.
Queena Ye’s cheeks were crimson as she snapped from being nervous and embarrassed at the same time. “I did say we don’t have to sleep in separate rooms anymore, but what I mean is that you have to sleep on the floor—the floor, you hear me?”
“So…so I was the one who misinterpreted your words?”
Wind Chen stared stupidly at her.
“What do you think? Hurry up and get off me. You’re so heavy.”
“Oh, oh, of course.”
Wind Chen got up and rubbed his nose awkwardly.
“My waist hurts now, and it’s all your fault.”
Queena Ye rolled her eyes angrily at him.
“I’ll help massage it for you,” offered Wind Chen immediately.
Queena Ye’s first thought was to reject his offer, but she suddenly thought of how Wind Chen was really good at massaging. Then she actually lay on the large bed like she had been possessed and said, “Go ahead then.”
“Coming right up.”
Wind Chen went up to her and massaged her gently. In order to relieve her pain, he secretly used a little qi as well.
“Oh…”
Queena Ye felt exceptionally relaxed and couldn’t help but let out a sound of relief.
But as time went on, Queena Ye’s breathing started to quicken a little.
“Wi-wind, that’s enough. It doesn’t hurt anymore. Go and get two blankets from the closet and use them to line the floor.”
Queena Ye tried her best to make her voice sound normal.
“Okay.”
Wind Chen stopped his massaging and went to get two blankets from the closet. After setting them down, he lay on the blankets, and an unprecedented joy filled his heart.
“Wind, I suspect Lola Chinn really likes you.”
Queena Ye mentioned Lola Chinn all of a sudden.
“That’s impossible,” replied Wind Chen. “I helped her once before this. Then earlier, I helped to save her grandmother. It’s only normal for her to be nice to me, but it’s not the romantic sort of love. Besides, I only love my wife.”
“Tsk, only an idiot would believe you. You make it sound as if you know a lot. I can’t be bothered with you. Go to bed.”
Queena Ye turned her back towards him, so he didn’t see the pretty smile on her face.
“Goodnight.”
Wind Chen shut his eyes as well.
Early the next morning…
As usual, Wind Chen made breakfast for Queena Ye like he did every single day.
“Wind, are you going to get the money back from Laoba Zhang today?”
Zander Ye walked out of the bathroom and was brushing his teeth as he asked this question in a garbled voice. The foam from the toothpaste would drip onto the spotless floor from time to time.
“That’s what I intend to do,” said Wind Chen.
“Laoba Zhang’s hotel is at the small cross junction up ahead. Good luck.” Zander Ye gave him an insincere smile.
“Never mind whether you can get the money or not. Count yourself lucky if you don’t end up getting beaten to death. Someone we know thinks that just because he knows some martial arts, he can do anything in the world,” snorted Sue Lee sarcastically.
“Mum, please don’t say such things. Wind, be careful, and remember what I told you last night,” said Queena Ye quietly after taking a sip of milk.
“Got it. I’m off then.”
Wind Chen left the house.
After Wind Chen left, Sue Lee gnashed her teeth and said, “I hope that little bastard gets beaten to death by Laoba Zhang.”
Queena Ye frowned. “Mum, you just took a few million dollars from him last night.”
Sue Lee glared at Queena Ye. “Queena, I’ve noticed that you keep standing up for him these days. I’m the one who brought you up all these years! How could you side with an outsider? You’re going to divorce him sooner or later anyway. Any money I can get out of him will go into your dowry in the future.”
“I’m going to work.”
Queena Ye was extremely troubled.
…
Meanwhile, Wind Chen had taken a cab to Chanlye Hotel.
When he stepped into the fairly luxurious hotel, a tall receptionist immediately stood up. “Hello, Sir, are you here to reserve a room?”
“I’m not here to get a room. There’s someone called Laoba Zhang around here, right?” asked Wind Chen.
The look in the receptionist’s eyes changed slightly when she heard this. “You’re looking for Mr. Zhang?”
“He owes me a million dollars. Here’s the IOU.”
Wind Chen waved the IOU in his hands.
Pfft.
The receptionist couldn’t help but laugh. When she looked at how Wind Chen was dressed, she didn’t bother hiding the disdain on her face as she said, “I’d advise you to leave as soon as possible. Don’t make life difficult for yourself.”
“Give a call to your Mr. Zhang and tell him to come down to see me,” said Wind Chen calmly.
“I’m not going to make any calls. Mr. Zhang isn’t around. Please do not disturb me anymore. I’m very busy.”
The receptionist sat back down at her desk and started watching videos on her phone.
“You sure about that?”
“I’m very sure. Go elsewhere. Don’t disturb me anymore,” said the receptionist impatiently without even looking up at him.
Wind Chen frowned, then he closed his eyes slightly to listen to the sounds within the hotel.
When he was cultivating with Master Old Geezer, he had learned a lot of incredible techniques. Soundheed Technique was one of them.
According to Old Geezer, as one’s cultivation level increased, one’s level of Soundheed Technique could reach a point where one would be able to even hear the sounds in the universe. However, Wind Chen had not reached that level yet and was only able to hear the sounds occurring within a radius of about 100 meters around himself.
Even so, this took up a lot of qi and energy.
After a few moments, Wind Chen’s expression started looking rather strange.
He had heard many unusual conversations occurring in several rooms.
He whipped his phone out immediately and dialed the police. “Hello, police? There are people in Chanlye Hotel engaging in illicit dealings. Please quickly come over and run an investigation.”
After hanging up, Wind Chen smiled sweetly at the receptionist.
Her face turned ashen. “What did you just do?”
“I called the police. You have a problem with that?” Wind Chen remained calm.
“You’re finished. You’re really doomed. Just you wait.”
The receptionist glared hard at Wind Chen, then called Laoba Zhang immediately. Once the call got through, she said, “Mr. Zhang, there’s someone here with an IOU and says that you owe him a million dollars. He’s also called the police to say that someone in our hotel is engaging in illicit dealings.”
“Which bloody a**hole is downstairs asking to get killed? I’m coming down right now. Send a text message right now, and get all those women out from the hotel quickly,” Laoba Zhang’s frosty voice came through the phone.
“Yes, Mr. Zhang.”
The receptionist hung up and quickly sent a message out secretly.
Three minutes later, a burly man with a beard stormed out of the elevator angrily with six subordinates dressed in black suits.
It was obvious that this bearded man was Laoba Zhang.
“Mr. Zhang, he’s the one.”
The receptionist stood up and pointed at Wind Chen immediately.
Laoba Zhang took wide strides towards Wind Chen and shouted ferociously, “You’re the kid who called the police?”
“One million dollars, pay up now!”
Wind Chen unfolded the IOU that was signed personally by Laoba Zhang and didn’t seem the slightest bit flustered.
“I don’t owe you any fucking money, you little bastard! You’re just waiting to get killed!”
Laoba Zhang was an ill-tempered man, and the first thing he did was raise his hand to slap Wind Chen.
But Wind Chen expected that. He raised his hand at lightning speed, and his hand landed on Laoba Zhang’s face first despite raising it later.
Pak.
Laoba Zhang was slapped so hard that he spun twice, and two teeth flew out from his mouth.
“Pay up.”
The expression on Wind Chen’s face remained as calm as ever.
“I’m not fucking paying you anything! All of you, kill him! Kill him now!” roared Laoba Zhang.
Once Laoba Zhang shouted those instructions, the six men in suits instantly charged towards Wind Chen.
The next thing that happened instantly made the hearts of both Laoba Zhang and the receptionist watching by the side pound wildly.
Wind Chen’s body shifted suddenly, and all six grown men strangely went flying backwards. They slammed loudly against the walls of the hotel and instantly lost their ability to continue fighting.
“These guys can’t even hold up against one move.”
Wind Chen dusted his hands off.
Laoba Zhang didn’t even know how Wind Chen had done that, and he couldn’t wrap his head around it at all.
He couldn’t stop himself from trembling all over. One side of his face was red and swollen, while the other side was deathly pale. He knew that he had run into a super vicious character.
