Laoba Zhang didn’t dare to ask any more questions. He knew that the more he knew, the faster he’d die.
Even though Laoba Zhang was a big shot in Chanyang, he was still wary of offending the Loongs, since they were the top family of Chanzhou.
But compared to the Loongs and Yans, Laoba Zhang was much more willing to work for Wind Chen.
That was because Wind Chen had proved to be a logic-defying fighting machine, and he really idolized martial artists.
“Big Brother, I’ll gather all the information you need right now.”
Laoba Zhang grew very serious.
“Don’t call me Big Brother anymore, alright? You can just go with Mr. Chen. Also, take my number down, 1827511…”
Wind Chen ran a hand through his hair, and this action mesmerized the receptionist so much that her eyes lit up.
But Laoba Zhang shuddered instead. “Mr. Chen, do you…do you have an alternative sexual orientation? I…I’m not in the business of selling my body.”
“Get lost.”
Wind Chen didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
Laoba Zhang turned and disappeared in no time.
Wind Chen stretched his back and was ready to leave too.
But just as he walked out of Chanlye Hotel, he received a text message.
It read: Queena Ye is with me. You have half an hour. If I don’t see you in half an hour, I’ll get my bros to help you wait on your wife.
Ding.
After he finished reading this message, he received another one containing an address.
Wind Chen took a deep breath with a grim look on his face.
The first thing he did was to call Queena Ye. The call was picked up quickly, but the one who spoke wasn’t Queena Ye. It was a sinister-sounding voice. “Tsk, tsk. Are you trying to verify if the message you received was real?”
“Lance Yan?”
A murderous rage instantly rose within Wind Chen.
“I’m so touched that you remember me. Remember, 30 minutes. Oh wait, now you’re only left with 29 minutes. Once time is up, I’ll make sure your wife really enjoys herself. Oh my, how smooth…”
Du, du, du.
The call was cut off abruptly.
Wind Chen didn’t hesitate at all.
He rushed to the address sent to him by himself.
It was a 10-minute drive away, but Wind Chen got there in only eight.
It was a small villa with more than 10 men guarding the door. Each one of them had a walkie-talkie in hand.
“You must be Wind Chen, right?” asked one of them with a cold smile.
But Wind Chen didn’t waste time talking to him and hit him immediately.
Bam, bam, bam!
In less than five seconds, he had knocked every single one of them out. None of them were in time to shout or use their walkie-talkies to alert the people inside that Wind Chen had arrived.
Wind Chen dashed into the small house and used his Soundheed Technique to locate where Queena Ye was.
In a few moments, Wind Chen came to one of the bedrooms.
He could hear people talking inside the bedroom.
“Lance, do you know how to get things done or not? We’ve waited nearly 10 minutes already. Where’s that high-level martial artist you hired?”
That voice belonged to Phil Loong, and he was clearly displeased.
“Brother Loong, that expert is already on the way, and he’ll be here any minute. Don’t worry, Wind Chen is going to take at least 40 minutes to get here, so we’ve got plenty of time,” said Lance Yan in a deep voice.
“I hope so. We’ve got to make sure Wind Chen dies this time,” said Phil Loong in a ruthless voice.
“Heh, Brother Loong, since we’ve got lots of time, why don’t we deal with this girl first…”
“Of course. Strip her. I’ll go first.”
Inside the room, Phil Loong was playing with a sharp dagger as he stood up and turned his neck to look Queena Ye up and down with a fire in his eyes.
Queena Ye’s limbs were tied with a rope, so her voluptuous figure was now exuding an irresistible charm. Her mouth was taped shut, so she couldn’t make a single sound. The look in her eyes was both furious and despondent at the same time.
“Queena Ye, we’ll let Brother Loong have a taste of you first, then I’ll deal with you next. You’re so lucky to have both of us take turns to wait on you.”
Lance Yan looked excited as he rubbed his palms together. But just when he was about to take action, the door was suddenly kicked open from outside.
Phil Loong and Lance Yan turned to look, and they immediately looked like they had just seen a ghost.
“Wind Chen? How…how did you get here so quickly?”
Lance Yan was so shocked that he turned as white as a sheet.
Queena Ye was so happy to see him that her tears started falling.
Swoosh.
Wind Chen suddenly appeared next to Queena Ye in an instant. The speed at which he moved shocked all three people in the room.
Meanwhile, Wind Chen quickly cut the ropes and removed the tape on her mouth.
“Don’t be scared. I’m here.”
Wind Chen pulled Queena Ye into his arms.
These five words contained an unimaginable amount of confidence and strength.
Queena Ye looked deeply at Wind Chen and nodded vigorously.
“Damn it. Get him!”
Phil Loong was extremely decisive and raised his dagger to stab Wind Chen.
But Lance Yan was smarter and turned to run. He wasn’t going to even try fighting Wind Chen, because he knew that ordinary folk like himself and Phil Loong didn’t stand a chance against Wind Chen even if there were a hundred of them.
Wind Chen smiled coldly and used his hand to grab the air.
Boom.
An invisible force instantly took control of Phil Loong.
Phil Loong mysteriously turned around, dashed towards the escaping Lance Yan, and stabbed the dagger hard into Lance Yan’s back.
Lance Yan’s feet could no longer run. He turned around and stared at Phil Loong in disbelief as the light in his eyes slowly went out.
“No, it wasn’t me! It wasn’t me!”
Phil Loong was terrified.
“You’re not getting away with it either.”
The look in Wind Chen’s eyes was void of feeling.
The scene that Queena Ye witnessed next was something she would never forget.
Phil Loong actually raised the dagger and slit his own throat.
The spurting blood made Queena Ye’s face turn deathly pale as she instinctively buried her face in Wind Chen’s chest.
Wind Chen hugged her and comforted her in a gentle voice, “It’s over now. Don’t be scared.”
“It’s all my fault! If not for me, you wouldn’t have killed anybody,” Queena Ye burst out wailing.
“Who says I’ve killed someone? I didn’t kill anyone.”
Wind Chen scooped Queena Ye up and walked confidently out of the small house. He didn’t want her to see that bloody scene anymore.
Queena Ye clung onto Wind Chen’s neck and thought about it. He was right. Throughout the entire process, Wind Chen hadn’t touched Phil Loong or Lance Yan at all. Phil Loong was the one who killed Lance Yan, then he killed himself.
But Queena Ye was very certain that the person behind this unbelievable string of events was Wind Chen.
She couldn’t figure out how Wind Chen had done that. This part of Wind Chen made her feel safe, but it also made her feel uneasy at the same time. These two opposing emotions continued to fight inside her heart.
“Queena, there are many things about myself that I really want to tell you, but it’s not the right time to do so because all these things might be too shocking or too out of this world, and I’m afraid that you might not be able to accept it,” said Wind Chen quietly.
“Then could you tell me a little at a time?” Queena Ye looked up seriously at Wind Chen.
Wind Chen smiled brightly. “Of course. You’re my wife. I can share all my secrets with you.”
“Uh-huh…”
Queena Ye leaned against Wind Chen’s muscular chest. The terror she felt when she witnessed Phil Loong murder Lance Yan and commit suicide had mostly disappeared.
“We’ve been married for two years, but I’ve never heard you call me Hubby,” said Wind Chen with a faint smile.
“I’m not calling you that,” replied Queena Ye shyly.
“Then when will you be willing to call me that?”
“When there aren’t any more secrets between us.”
“I’ll go with whatever you say.”
Wind Chen was really elated. Their hearts had taken another big step closer to each other.
Queena Ye felt the same way too. She really liked this feeling.
“Did you start practicing this strange kung fu that you have from a very young age?” Queena Ye’s huge eyes blinked curiously.
“I started when I was five and practiced it every day with my master. I remember that when I turned eight, I could already defeat a wolf all by myself. Don’t you think that’s amazing?”
