Chapter 52: The Crying Mr. Tian

There were three kinds of students that a teacher could remember: the worst, the best, and the troublemakers!
Shen Zhe was in two of those categories.
So, he was a famous person for the teaching staff.
Before he went to class, Mr. Tian had been informed by other teachers that he had to teach a bad student named Shen Zhe a good lesson. He had thought that the last place of the school didn’t know a thing. However, the student turned out to be a genius who had tamed a beast…
To cover his embarrassment, he waved his hand and said, “Other students, dismissed! Shen Zhe, come to my office!”
Shen Zhe stood up.
He wasn’t as exhausted as before, even though he had only slept for two hours.
Everybody was discussing this after they left, wondering what had just happened to make Mr. Tian change his attitude. They all looked at the new classmate.
“Jiu’er, what happened just now?” asked Ling Xueru.
“I don’t know.” Xiao Yurou shook her head.
She preferred quietness over company after spending most of her time in solitude.
She was Ling Xueru’s direct opposite.
The monitor frowned and sat down in Shen Zhe’s seat. She said in a low voice, “I feel that there’s something wrong with the person who sat next to you. You must be careful… Tell me whenever you notice anything!”
Shen Zhe had been summoned to the office by three teachers in the past four days. What was he up to?
Xiao Yurou looked at her and smiled, “Do you like him?”
“I… I… Why would I like him…?” Jumping as if she had suffered an electric shock, Ling Xueru waved her hand. “I’m only… I’m only reminding you as your monitor!”
Xiao Yurou’s lips curled up, smiling like a blossoming flower. “You’re sitting on the same chair he used fifty-two seconds ago, and the book you touched was his pillow until two minutes and twenty-seven seconds ago. His drool is still on it…”
“I…”
Ling Xueru rose in a hurry, blushing and trying to get back to normal.
Xiao Yurou stopped talking and continued reading the book.
Although she had studied and memorized the books when she was six, it still felt different to read them in the classroom.
…
Mr. Tian’s office was a shared space with the seats of multiple teachers. However, none of them were present.
The moment Shen Zhe went in, Mr. Tian looked at him passionately. “Can I take a look at your Blue Fox?”
“Of course!”
Knowing that it was useless to pretend anymore, Shen Zhe grabbed the Blue Fox and tossed it on the desk.
Crack!
The Blue Fox was rather dizzy after the fall.
Then…
Pa!
The Blue Fox staggered when Shen Zhe slapped it.
“Stop sleeping. My teacher wants to see you…”
“…”
“Didn’t animal taming have to do with making animals feel grateful?”
“Aren’t we supposed to cater to their every need and adulate them?”
“Could throwing and slapping work?”
“Was this fox a masochist?”
“Zhi! Zhi!”
After it had completely woken up, the Blue Fox stood up and glared at Mr. Tian with hostility.
“Why are there so many wounds on the fox?”
Observing the fox carefully, Mr. Tian clenched his fists and felt that he understood. “Did it submit to you because it was wounded and you saved it?”
A lifesaving favor could never be returned.
The student might have had a chance to rescue the fox, thereby winning its obedience.
“Oh, the wounds were caused by me. Because it pretended to be dead…” answered Shen Zhe.
“…”
Speechlessly, Mr. Tian looked at Shen Zhe and asked carefully, “What did you do to make it feel grateful?”
“I just kept beating it up! And then, it surrendered…” said Shen Zhe after thinking for a moment.
He skipped the part about the herb liquid. It shouldn’t be a lie to neglect revealing only one step.
“…”
Mr. Tian asked further, but Shen Zhe was unable to confess any theories other than beating… Exhausted, Mr. Tian waved his hand and allowed him to return to class. In the end, he stood up and opened another door in the office.
An inner room was opened.
There was a cage inside the room, where a monkey-like beast was imprisoned.
There were peaches, bananas, meat and various kinds of food and toys before the beast. There was even a lot of herb liquid that he had bought with a fortune.
However, the beast did not appreciate any of that and eyed Mr. Tian as if he were its mortal enemy.
The beast had been caught three months before. He had spent all his wages and even asked for some loans on the temptations, but none of them worked!
“Should I try beating?”
Thinking how Shen Zhe successfully tamed the Blue Fox, Mr. Tian gritted his teeth.
BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM!
He punched and kicked the beast.
“Zhi! Zhi! Zhi!”
Seeing that the previously accommodating human had dared to beat it, the beast roared in fury and crashed into the iron bars.
Crack!
It stopped breathing.
“Shoot! You’re truly heartless!”
Mr. Tian wept.
“Beatings didn’t make it feel grateful?”
“What happened?”
“Did it only work on foxes and not on monkeys?”
…
When Shen Zhe returned to the classroom, the second class had already begun.
Xiao Yurou asked curiously, “Did you really tame the Blue Fox?”
Shen Zhe nodded.
His new classmate had seen everything just then. He couldn’t keep it a secret from her.
“The Blue Fox lives in Dreary Wood on Mount Thorn and can only be attracted to the Pearl Chicken. It takes a day and a night on horseback from the school to that place. Plus the time to avoid other beasts, it’s barely possible to catch a Blue Fox without spending two or three days!”
Xiao Yurou said with great interest, “Your school uniform carries a similar scent to the unique plants of Mount Thorn. Also, the mud smeared on it is bright yellow, which is the color of the soil in Dreary Wood. You were exhausted during class, indicating that you hadn’t slept for a while… I asked someone just now, and they said you came to class the day before yesterday. Is it possible that you caught the Blue Fox and tamed it in one day and two nights during the weekend?”
Shen Zhe frowned and turned his head to carefully observe the new classmate.
She had inferred so many things based on his smell and the color of the mud…
Where was she from?
Her observation seemed even keener than the monitor’s.
The girl was weak and emaciated, seemingly about to collapse at any time, but her eyes were so bright that they seemed able to see through other people’s minds.
“I am Xiao Jiu…” Xiao Yurou smiled and extended her hand.
She had introduced herself in the last class, but Shen Zhe didn’t respond to it.
“I’m Shen Zhe… the very last place in the last semester!”
Gazing at the new classmate, Shen Zhe extended his hand and shook hers.
The girl’s hand was cold.
“I know that. I also know that you’ve been doing good things!” Xiao Yurou nodded her head.
Shen Zhe frowned.
“Wang Qing has told me a lot about you…” Xiao Yurou smiled.
He turned around, only to see that his old friend was grimacing; he even made a provocative expression.
“…”
Too lazy to get back at him, Shen Zhe lay his head on the desk again.
“The Blood of the Blue Fox is a rare medication for the veins. Since the Blue Fox has been tamed by you, can I borrow some of its blood? Rest assured, I’ll pay you enough…” His new classmate looked at him carefully.
Due to her congenital weakness, few drugs could be used on Xiao Yurou, and the Blood of the Blue Fox was among them.
Even the royal family couldn’t find it easily.
“You’ll pay me?”
Shen Zhe shook his head. “I don’t want money. I need Gold and Silver Tobacco. Do you have it?”
Briefly dazed, Xiao Yurou nodded her head. “Yes!”
