Chapter 424: Chapter 398: Are You Sick? (Thanks to Niko Doll and Shi Bi+ for the update)
In a specific period, he just happened to cross paths with her, forming an inherently pure feeling. There seemed to be a bit more element of love, but also mixed energies of respect and dependency. Romantic young people tend to exaggerate, seeking a mighty surge of genuine emotions which shouldn’t contain anything else. However, they fail to realize that such feelings are not necessarily firm.
The love between a man and a woman, after going through the time and life’s grind, always evolves into something different. It becomes stronger, perhaps, not as dramatic, but it continues to endure, like a steady stream. Many people may choose to break up, as they miss the fervency of their past love, without realizing that all love, at a certain stage, evolves to become a blend of mundane entities like tea, rice, oil, and salt.
True love only exists in literary classics, and those too are likely to be tragic classics. Love is eternal only when it ends abruptly at its peak. If Romeo and Juliet had married and lived, they might have divorced in a couple of years.
But when we look at the elders who have lived through special times, despite not having experienced much dramatic love, they’ve lived a lifetime filled with day-to-day mundane chores, taking care of each other and spending their lives together as old age approached. Isn’t this more reliable than those who only speak of ‘forever’ but end up parting ways shortly thereafter?
Even though Dong Yi and Yu Mingyi will never have a to-die-for kind of love, their peaceful, enduring love will allow them to live happily together. That’s good too.
Mother Yu thought Xiao Qian made sense, but she still felt uneasy. Wang Xiaohong had left a significant psychological scar on the Yu family–they were terrified of another divorce for their son. Because their son wasn’t a carefree man who could take things lightly, it was naturally causing Mother Yu to worry.
If Second Brother Yu is as carefree as Zheng Xu and could just walk away from everything, Mother Yu would not worry about him as much as she does now.
“Aside from all that I’ve said, there are some pieces of evidence that show Da Yi is a good match for Second Brother. In his previous marriage, Second Brother was not respected as a man should be. Da Yi could give him that respect. She loves him so much that she’s always thinking about Second Brother. Also, didn’t Wang Xiaohong specifically despise the fact that Second Brother was a pilot, citing their lower salaries?”
“Yes, that was particularly infuriating. Your uncle was furious about it.” Mother Yu believed this was a matter of principle, the value differences were too great.
For Second Brother to have fulfilled his father’s desires and flown freely in the blue sky is remarkable and prestigious.
However, Wang Xiaohong failed to understand. She believed that earning a mediocre income wasn’t going to fulfil her aristocratic dreams of bathing in SK2 skincare. She insisted that Second Brother follow in his brothers’ footsteps and start a business.
“When Da Yi was a kid, she was saved by a pilot. Given this profession’s significance in her life, she even considered studying psychology at Flight School after graduation. I stopped her,”
Xiao Qian could discern Mother Yu’s questioning glance and explained, “Her personality doesn’t fit there. She and Second Brother could set up a private practice, handling children’s mental problems. This suits her personality, and she would also have the time to take care of her own kids.”
That seemed like a good plan to Mother Yu. As she mulled over the idea, she felt more confident, and half of her initial worries disappeared.
“Most importantly, they both have emotional gaps that need filling. Wouldn’t it be great if they could fill each other’s gaps? Second Brother needs a woman who understands and supports him. Da Yi has someone she admires and loves, and she doesn’t mind Panpan. Where else can we find such a suitable daughter-in-law?”
Hearing this, Mother Yu’s eyes lit up, and she promptly got up. Xiao Qian looked at her, puzzled.
“Auntie, what are you doing?”
“I’m going back to help Second Brother realize this. I’m going to win Da Yi over!” It’s time to take action and quickly bring in a daughter-in-law~
After listening to Xiao Qian’s analysis, Mother Yu felt enlightened. She now was firm that it was a great arrangement, and it was high time she stepped in.
Looking back, her youngest son also found a student, right? Xiao Qian is very stable, and their couple also leads a very fulfilling life. If Xiao Qian thinks highly of a girl, then she must be reliable.
Nothing else matters. Only the respect and understanding that will be there for her second son is the most crucial part.
She doesn’t want her second son to be gloomy all the time, but emotional matters can’t be substituted by family members. If Second Brother and Dong Yi can indeed be together, then naturally it would be great.
Seeing Mother Yu so excited, Xiao Qian didn’t want to throw cold water on her enthusiasm.
All Xiao Qian had said were positive aspects.
In reality, there’s a severe problem which is Second Brother’s emotional hang-ups and Da Yi’s inferiority complex. Unless they themselves are willing to work it out, even external guidance won’t make them compromise, which is a critical issue.
Love is like a piece of paper that only the parties involved can pierce. If one party wants to break through, it can occur effortlessly. However, external forces trying to intervene will not be effective no matter how hard they try. If done incorrectly, it may even backfire. That’s why Xiao Qian didn’t mention her analysis to Dong Yi.
The primary concern now is Second Brother Yu and Da Yi’s feelings.
Xiao Qian believed that considering the extent of Da Yi’s affection for Second Brother Yu, this relationship would work out with just a slight indication of Second Brother’s feelings.
But what was Second Brother doing at the moment?
He’d angered Da Yi to the point of fainting…
When Second Brother admitted his feelings for her the first time, Da Yi was too overwhelmed and fainted, mainly because she’d been depressed recently and had not been eating or sleeping well, leading to low blood pressure. After regaining consciousness, she was hoping to relive the sweet feelings. But Second Brother was overcautious, not wanting to excite her; he spoke against his feelings and said he didn’t like her.
The poor Da Yi fainted again…
Second Brother Yu pinched her philtrum to wake her up. When she woke up again, she looked at him with tearful eyes, innocent and pitiful as if she’d been abandoned by the world.
Second Brother Yu became anxious, “Da Yi, do you want to hear me say I like you or not?”
He wondered why everything he said seemed wrong. She kept fainting…
Also, should he take her to a hospital for a check-up?
“Da Yi, I’ll take you to the hospital for a complete check-up. Your frequent fainting spells could be a sign of some health issues.” He seriously suggested and unilaterally said,
“I’ll take you to our hospital. The doctors are excellent.”
Fainting frequently could be a sign of anemia.
Da Yi felt like she was going to faint again. Yu Mingyi was a genius; he could keep making her faint.
As Mother Yu and Xiao Qian returned, they stood at the door, about to unlock it, when they heard Da Yi’s furious voice from inside.
