Chapter 47: The Strong Political Background
Jian Rushi was so interested in what kind of family Mr. Helian came from that she looked at him with sad eyes and directly complained, “We are already married, but I still know nothing about your family.”
After saying that, she suddenly realized something was wrong.
The other day Mr. Helian took out a diamond ring and proposed to her, and she made a spur-of-the-moment decision to accept his proposal of marriage. Since then, she had been staying at home, resting and nourishing her unborn child.
So although she told her fans that Mr. Helian was her husband, the fact remained that they two had yet to apply for a marriage certificate and hold a marriage ceremony. It seemed that… she was kept as a lover because he wanted her to give birth to his child.
“You’re wearing a strange expression. You must be making blind and disorderly conjectures, right?” Mr. Helian frowned, put the documents aside and looked at Jian Rushi with his eyes full of concern. Her beautiful face was shaded with melancholy. He reached out a hand, pinched her cheek and continued, “I find you often give your verdict on me without asking me about my real thoughts.”
Hearing his words, Jian Rushi didn’t feel ashamed; instead, she wore a proud air and said, “I know I’m smart.”
“What do you want to know?”
“You are so handsome, and your parents must be peerless beauties. I like beautiful people very much.”
“In fact, you’ve seen them.”
“Huh?”
“Do you often watch the news?” Mr. Helian said lightly. “The man who often makes important speeches is my father, and the lady who often accompany him on a visit abroad is my mother.”
Jian Rushi now knew that Mr. Helian was indeed a noble prince.
“They are now on a visit abroad. So I’m going to take you home to meet my grandfather.” Helian Ze thought for a while and continued, “He’s a difficult old man. I have hesitated to take you to see him because I’m afraid that you won’t like him.”
Jian Rushi shouted in her heart, “I’m afraid that he won’t like me!”
“Don’t worry. He will like you.” Helian Ze rubbed his chin with his thumb and said, “He likes beautiful girls. He once said that he felt himself to be younger when he saw young and beautiful girls.”
Jian Rushi was dubious about his words.
Helian Ze shrugged his shoulders and sighed, “Well, I can’t hide it from you. In fact, he doesn’t like me.”
Jian Rushi couldn’t help but diss him in the heart, ‘Actually you have fooled me. What makes you think you can’t hide it from me?”
“I guess you are your grandfather’s only family. Why does he not like you?”
Mr. Helian said as if nothing had happened, “Maybe it’s because he’s an eccentric character.”
She doubted his words. Judging from everything Helian Ze said just now, his grandfather was obviously an amiable old man. Mr. Helian’s remark was full of contradictions and flaws, which aroused her suspicion.
Jian Rushi had known Helian Ze for so many years. In her experience, he was not an easy-going person.
“I can see from your face that you are speaking ill of me in your heart.” Mr. Helian looked at Jian Rushi with sharp eyes as if he could see through her mind and everything was under his control.
Jian Rushi forced a smile and replied, “Aw, come on, you are the best man in my view. You have no shortcomings.”
Helian Ze didn’t believe her words. With an expressionless face, he picked on her, ” It seems that you’ve met very few people.”
Jian Rushi knew that it was time to show her loyalty, so she said without hesitation, “Even if I had seen all the people in the world, I would still think you are the best one.”
Mr. Helian directed a meaningful look at her, as if to say, ‘You’ve attained perfection in fawning on others.”
Jian Rushi laughed in embarrassment.
Mr. Helian didn’t want to let it go at that. He pumped her for details, “Okay, just tell me, what’s good about me?”
“Ouch, I have a stomachache.”
Jian Rushi groaned and pretended to have a pain in the stomach. Mr. Helian hurriedly picked her up and gently laid her on the bed for a rest.
