Chapter 191: Chapter 191 Instructor Mu
After spending two hundred thousand, Lin Shen finally secured the mosaic Qingyu Lion Base Mutation Egg and was very satisfied.
Without those three girls, he probably wouldn’t have bargained, and would have ended up paying about the same price. Now, he didn’t feel like he was at a loss.
Yiyi took out one hundred sixty thousand and bought another Qingyu Lion Base Mutation Egg that seemed to have even better quality, and she was just as happy.
Another girl named Shanshan even bought a few bottles of drinks and gave Lin Shen one as a thank you.
When they were about to leave, the three girls wanted to add Lin Shen’s contact information, but unfortunately, he didn’t have a communicator, so he had to feign profundity and declined their request.
The three girls told Lin Shen that they were students from the Marine Training Camp, and if he had the chance, he could visit the camp to hang out and they would treat him to a meal.
Lin Shen also learned their names were Xu Yiyi, Bai Shanshan, and Yu Shishi; they were locals from Sea Corn Base who grew up together as close friends. However, Lin Shen didn’t leave his name behind, only saying “If fate allows, we shall meet again,” and quickly left the place.
“No wonder they say a hero can’t withstand the entanglement of beautiful women, who could bear this? The big bases are better, Dark Bird Base doesn’t have so many cute and soft young girls,” Lin Shen muttered to himself.
“Mr. Lin Shen, this way of shopping isn’t going to work. You’re taking a big loss,” Lei said from the side.
“I was never cut out for business anyway, spending money is fine,” Lin Shen said with a light cough.
The two continued to stroll through the market, but before long, they ran into those three girls from the Marine Training Camp again.
The three girls were eating at a street stall and insisted on pulling Lin Shen to join them.
Lin Shen wanted to refuse, but under the girlish and naive cries of “little brother,” his legs weren’t firm enough, and he ended up being coaxed into eating something.
Lin Shen was about to pay, but Xu Yiyi took the initiative to pay and even offered to act as a guide and accompany Lin Shen around.
If Lin Shen had money on him, he wouldn’t mind walking around with them and spending a bit, no big deal.
The problem was that he didn’t have much money left. He intended to refuse, but he got pulled along by the three girls anyway.
Fortunately, they didn’t ask Lin Shen to spend any money on anything; they bought some things with their own money.
After watching for a while, Lin Shen didn’t find any other Base Mutation Eggs with a Fire Seed.
The market was just too vast. After touring the area with the Base Mutation Eggs, it was getting late. Lin Shen parted ways with Xu Yiyi and the others, and left the market to prepare for visiting Instructor Mu.
“Mr. Lin Shen, it seems like you haven’t bought any gifts? With only one Base Mutation Egg, how will you visit Miss Bai and Instructor Mu’s houses?” Lei knew Lin Shen was out of money and was ready to take some from the caravan to give to Lin Shen so he could buy some gifts.
“No need, I have my ways.” Lin Shen said as he actually wasn’t lacking in possessions; he could take out one or two items as gifts.
Besides, he didn’t plan to visit Goddess Consort Bai and was only preparing to see Instructor Mu.
Lin Shen picked out a gift box on the street and placed a set of red Ultraburn Helmets and Ultraburn Battle Suits inside as a gift.
Although these items weren’t very expensive, they were hard to find on the mother planet, and they would still fetch a good price if sold now, so it was a token of his intentions.
His fourth brother had spent ten years at the Sea Corn Base, living and being cared for at Instructor Mu’s house, so naturally, the gift Lin Shen brought for his visit couldn’t be too shabby.
Instructor Mu lived in a slightly remote location, not in the bustling area of the base, in a rather small courtyard.
After Lin Shen knocked on the door, he saw an elder with graying hair standing inside.
“Instructor Mu, I am Lin Xiangdong’s younger brother, Lin Shen. My brother always mentions you at home; he says that you took great care of him during his time at the training camp. He told me to make sure to visit you if I ever had the chance to come to the Sea Corn Base,” hinted by Lei, Lin Shen knew the old man was Instructor Mu and quickly stepped forward and said.
He had indeed heard from his fourth brother that Instructor Mu was a very strict man, known as the Devil Instructor at the training camp.
However, seeing him now, he seemed to be a rather amiable old man with graying hair but neatly and properly groomed, wearing a pair of glasses around his neck, probably reading glasses.
This image hardly matched the notorious reputation of the Devil Instructor.
Lin Shen also knew appearances could be deceiving and wouldn’t skimp on the proper respect due.
“That kid never scolding me is already good enough,” laughed Instructor Mu as he opened the door and led Lin Shen inside, saying, “You must be Lin Shen from the Lin Family. When I stayed at your family’s house, you weren’t even born yet. Don’t be so formal with me in the future; just call me Mu.”
“Understood, Uncle Mu,” Lin Shen followed Instructor Mu into the courtyard, noting that although it was small, it was well-kept and quite charming, with a few flowers and plants that made it quite comfortable.
After entering the living room, Lin Shen put down the gift box: “Uncle Mu, just a small token of appreciation.”
“I won’t be polite about gifts from you guys, just put it there. We’ll eat at home later, and you’ll join me for a couple of drinks. Come on, give me a hand, let’s prepare some dishes to accompany the drinks,” Mu said with a smile.
Seeing that Uncle Mu really didn’t treat him as an outsider, Lin Shen didn’t refuse and rolled up his sleeves to follow him into the kitchen to help.
“Lin Shen, I’ve seen your performance on Realm King Planet, you are a good seedling, it’s just that you haven’t undergone systematic training, and I don’t know how that rascal Xiangdong taught you. Since you’re here and there are no other pressing matters, spend some time in the training camp to establish a good foundation, it will benefit you in the future,” said Mu as he tidied up things.
Lin Shen’s mind wasn’t really on what Mu was talking about because he saw something hanging on the kitchen wall.
He couldn’t figure out what that thing was because it was covered in thick mosaic.
“What is that? It definitely isn’t a Base Mutation Egg, why would it have mosaic on it? What could be hanging in the kitchen?” Lin Shen pondered to himself.
As he was thinking, he noticed Instructor Mu looking back at him, and Lin Shen realized he had been rude, quickly saying, “My brothers and sisters don’t want me to go out and fight; they just wish for me to live safely at home and have children, so they haven’t really taught me those things.”
“Such young people, and yet they think so conservatively. In times like these, who can live in peace forever? It is better to be capable on your own; don’t listen to them, come to the training camp with me tomorrow.”
Mu, seeing Lin Shen seemed interested in the thing hanging on the wall, continued, “That’s a horn from a Base Variant Creature. During that massive beast tide in the ocean, I almost died at its hands. I cut off one of its horns as a memento. This thing can emit a scent that effectively repels mosquitoes and bad smells, so I’ve kept it hanging here.”
