Chapter 201: Chapter 201 Sand Shell
He was deep in thought when he suddenly noticed something strange appearing in the desert ahead.
“Eh! What is that?” Lin Shen saw what seemed like a gigantic mushroom growing in the desert.
Of course, it wasn’t a real mushroom, but rather a mound of sand piled up like a small hill.
Lin Shen couldn’t shake the feeling that the sand mound was peculiar. No wind could create such a formation unless it was man-made.
He let the Evil Dragon fly a bit higher, but within the visible range, there were no signs of Humans or the Ultra-Burn Tribe.
“If it wasn’t piled up by Humans and the Ultra-Burn Tribe, could it have been done by those Crystal Warriors?” Lin Shen wondered with curiosity as he rode the Evil Dragon closer to the mound and circled around it.
To his surprise, the mound turned out not to be a pile of sand but a sand shell glued together with a small hole leading inside.
Lin Shen jumped off the back of the Evil Dragon, approached the hole, and shone a flashlight inside.
Upon looking inside, his mouth opened wide in shock. The interior was dense with Base Mutation Eggs the size of ostrich eggs.
Most of them were green crystal-like Base Mutation Eggs, with a few Blue Crystal Base Mutation Eggs and some scattered Purple Crystal Base Mutation Eggs.
What excited Lin Shen even more was that after a quick scan, he spotted three Red Crystal Base Mutation Eggs among them.
“I’ve hit the jackpot. So many Mutant Base Mutation Eggs should be enough for my Base Mutation rate to reach a hundred percent,” Lin Shen thought ecstatically as he squeezed through the small hole.
There were just too many Base Mutation Eggs here. Lin Shen could use the mutants himself, and whatever he couldn’t use could be sold by his sister. But with so many Base Mutation Eggs, transporting them back was an issue.
His backpack couldn’t fit everything, and to teleport them back, he needed to be able to touch them or carry them in a bag.
The bags Lin Shen had brought could at most hold a couple of hundred, and there were at least several thousand Base Mutation Eggs here. He couldn’t take them all at once.
“I’ll take the mutants first. Lucky I came early. Pioneering always has its benefits.” Lin Shen took out a large bag and started picking out the Mutant Eggs into it, using the flashlight to see around.
“This Red Crystal Base Mutation Egg looks strange!” Lin Shen picked up a red Base Mutation Egg but noticed something was different about it.
Lin Shen had initially found three Red Crystal Base Mutation Eggs, all peach-red in color. However, this particular one was a deeper shade of red, blood-red, to be exact.
Now wasn’t the time for close examination. Lin Shen stuffed it into his bag, then continued sorting through the other Mutant Base Mutation Eggs.
After much effort, he’d collected all the visible Mutant Eggs: thirty-four Blue Crystal Base Mutation Eggs, fourteen Purple Crystal Base Mutation Eggs, and four Red Crystal Base Mutation Eggs.
Among the four Red Crystal Base Mutation Eggs was the dark red one.
For Lin Shen, such a haul was akin to finding a treasure guarded by an Evil Dragon, except there were no dragons guarding this one.
“I am a mover, strong in the art of carrying, I shall make that large house empty and airy…” Lin Shen hummed as he lay resting atop the pile of Green Crystal Base Mutation Eggs.
With this massive treasure, he planned to go nowhere else. He would just teleport back when the time came.
Then, after a few repeated teleports, he could empty out all the Base Mutation Eggs inside.
Just think of the thousands of Crystal Base Eggs; how much money they would fetch. This batch of Crystal Base Eggs could make Lin Shen wealthy.
But business was not really Lin Shen’s forte. It would be better to leave it to his sister.
“After selling this batch of Base Mutation Eggs, could I afford to buy half of Sea Corn Base, would everyone then call me Lin Bancheng… In the future, I’ll only eat eggs laid by hens… Drink milk only from cows… Bath time must have four bath attendants… Scrubbing me down from front, back, left, and right…” As Lin Shen dreamt of his future life of luxury, he suddenly heard a strange noise coming from the entrance of the hole.
A shiver ran down Lin Shen’s spine. He quickly turned off the flashlight, his gaze fixated nervously on the faint light at the entrance.
“Shit, don’t tell me the one who laid these eggs has come back?” Lin Shen felt somewhat nervous inside.
There were so many Base Mutation Eggs here that they definitely couldn’t have been laid by just one or two Crystal Warriors; if it was a huge group of warriors, and he got surrounded by tens of thousands of Crystal Warriors, it would be doubtful whether he could escape.
The combat power of the Blue Crystal Warrior and the Purple Crystal Warrior was still very strong; they just weren’t as strong as the Frost Swordsman.
The Frost Swordsman could handle one or two in a duel, but if ten or eight of them rushed at him, the Frost Swordsman would just be overwhelmed.
Lin Shen’s expression changed uncertainly as he pondered the consequences when suddenly he saw a figure squeeze through the entrance of the cave.
Although the cave was pitch black and he couldn’t see his hand in front of his face, the outline of the figure was clearly not that of a Crystal Warrior, but a human.
Half of the person’s body entered the cave entrance, then they reached out with a flashlight and shone it inside.
Lin Shen stood flush against the cave’s sandy wall; the flashlight didn’t sweep over him.
The person, seeing so many Crystal Base Eggs, reacted much like Lin Shen, perhaps even more exaggeratedly.
“Holy shit, jackpot—I’ve really struck it rich this time,” the person exclaimed with joy, followed by a bout of wild laughter.
“Eh, why are they all Green Crystal Eggs?” The person quickly noticed something off.
He appeared to have some understanding of the Crystal Warriors, and seeing only Green Crystal Eggs in the cave, with no Mutant Eggs, he felt that something was wrong.
He immediately turned his flashlight on and started to sweep it haphazardly around the cave.
Suddenly, all the person saw was a bright light blinding him, unable to see anything, and instantly realized what was happening, immediately responding with his torch to the other light.
“Who is there?” The person held the flashlight against Lin Shen with one hand and shielded his face with the other.
Both of them were blinded by bright lights and couldn’t see what the other looked like.
“Friend, you are too late; I discovered this place first,” Lin Shen also shielded his face with one hand and held his flashlight toward the other person as he spoke.
This was just an instinctive action; he wore the Ultraburn Helmet, so others couldn’t see his face anyway.
“Nature’s bounty is for all to share. Friend, there are so many Base Mutation Eggs here that you can’t possibly take them all yourself; wouldn’t it be wonderful to share them?” the person continued while shining his light on Lin Shen.
Lin Shen understood his meaning. Most humans who entered through the Realm King Cultivation Device would be randomly teleported to the desert area, and it wasn’t certain they could teleport back here next time.
With so many Base Mutation Eggs, one person definitely couldn’t carry them all off in one go, and there was no guarantee of returning here next time, so monopolizing them was futile.
His thinking wasn’t bad, but Lin Shen was different; he could record coordinates and come back repeatedly, so taking them all wasn’t a difficult task.
Naturally, Lin Shen couldn’t reveal his ability to teleport freely and instead asked, “Who are you? Give me your name before we discuss anything else.”
Lin Shen’s intention was to say, reveal your identity first; if we’re not enemies, we can talk.
Now Lin Shen was somewhat frustrated because his own entrance wasn’t broadcast, but this other person was livestreaming, which inadvertently broadcasted him as well.
The secret of this sand nest was definitely not safe anymore, but in the vast desert, finding this specific sand nest would also be very hard.
Even for Lin Shen himself, if he had no coordinates and was dropped somewhere else in the desert, searching for this sand nest would likely be like finding a needle in a haystack.
Now, Lin Shen was thinking of how to deal with this person; either make him shut up and scram, or just kill him.
As long as he doesn’t come back, a few teleports by Lin Shen would be enough to empty this place.
