Chapter 583: Chapter 577: Insect Species Hive
“The size isn’t massive, but it’s not small either,” Finn Lewis said, after exchanging for these items. Zero would directly pass on related data and information about the items to Olivia Thatcher, so her database contained methods on how to use these items and so on.
“It seems unlikely that I’ll be able to test them here,” Finn continued, shaking his head slightly.
“Master, you’d better not test them here or domestically. Although it has radar stealth capability, infrared stealth capability and optical stealth, it makes quite a lot of noise and could easily be detected. Its primary prowess isn’t in being stealthy; it doesn’t fear being discovered by enemies. It possesses an incredibly strong energy barrier that protects it against most damage. Moreover, its armor is formidable. Even without triggering its energy barrier, it can endure direct hits from terrestrial attacks, such as main tank cannons or rounds from large-caliber grenade launchers,” said Olivia.
“Its power and agility make it difficult to aim at. So if you try to test it here, it will be easy to detect its presence. And its size isn’t small either,” Olivia added straightforwardly.
“How big is ‘not small’?” Finn asked somewhat speechless. He speculated that it might not be as small as the suits in Iron Man, which were nearly identical to a person’s size. This Plane Armor called Red Storm, as can be inferred from its name, was made specifically for battles. Those suits from the movies, like the one Anthony Stark wore, simply cannot compare for they aren’t true Plane Armors.
“The armor is 5 meters tall, proportioned like a human, and equipped with various weapons. These weapons can be adjusted according to the type of battle,” Olivia offered specific data promptly. Finn was shocked. With a height of 5 meters, it was roughly the size of a two-story building. While it wasn’t a behemoth as Finn had imagined, it wouldn’t be easy to test as he had intended either.
This part of the plot revealed Finn once again, donning this new equipment, ruthlessly defeating one enemy after another, leaving the North Federation in utter chaos, and the whole world realized they were already outmatched by him.
Finn needed a reason to confront Belmare Country, so he set up an Insect Species base under the Fruit Mountain at Belmare Country and just like that, the bio-chaos in Belmare Country began.
Never did Finn expect that he would come underground one day – it’s a rare experience. More than a thousand meters underground, it would be molten lava if it were a volcano. But in this underground river filled with caves, there wouldn’t be lava. However, few people would have had the experience of going this deep underground.
This place seemed like a whole different world secluded from ours. Finn descended here with the Red Storm straight from an underground river cave, with a T900 paving the way beforehand, so he managed to get down quite easily. You can’t say that it’s a living creature, in a manner similar to Olivia. It’s more like a biological computer evolved from the brain of the Insect Species, Icarus.
Kabbalah, a single unit in Icarus’ Insect Species, possessed abilities that neither the entire Insect Species nor even the Supreme Ruler, Finn Lewis, had. It could adjust the genetic sequences of the Insect Species unit over a long range and let the unit evolve according to the latest adjusted genetic sequences, even if it’s hundreds of thousands of kilometers, millions of kilometers, or several light-years away.
The closer Kabbalah was to the Insect Species unit, the faster the adjustment would take effect. If all insects are eliminated, and if the Insect Species need to evolve again, Kabbalah would be the first to be nurtured.
No wonder so much energy was consumed for the first nurturing of the queen’s nest. According to Zero, the energy stored in those worker bees could be described as terrifying. After he stepped out of the Insect Queen’s nest, Finn closed his eyes and tried to feel the Insect Queen’s nest in front of him. He had a miraculous sensation as if there was a special spiritual passage between him and the Insect Queen’s nest as if the Insect Queen’s nest became an extension of his body.
After sensing the Insect Queen’s nest, Finn placed a new order to first hatch five worker bee units, then a queen bee unit. The queen bee is the only one among all Icarus’ Insect Species units that, besides the Supreme Ruler, can independently control Insect Species units and develop Insect Species branches.
With Finn’s orders, five holes appeared on the surface of the Insect Queen’s nest. Five caterpillar-sized larvae crawled out from Insect Queen’s nest, then swiftly burrowed into the fungal carpet near the nest. Five spore-like lumps then began to grow on the Fungal Carpet. Under the support of strong energy, five worker bees would hatch out after an hour.
And the Insect Queen grows at a rapid speed, able to fully hatch in just 24 hours. its growth took place inside the nurturing chamber within the Insect Queen’s nest while the Worker Bees grew directly from the fungal carpet – the place where Finn just went to see.
After placing all orders, Finn opened his eyes. Kabbalah’s spirit was directly connected to the whole Insect Nest. It naturally knew what Finn had done. After Finn had done all this, Kabbalah walked up to Finn and reached its numerous limbs toward him.
“Master, the body, weak, backward, needs amelioration, evolution,” Kabbalah stammered in Flame Nation language, which was surprisingly accurate.
But the words itself gave Finn chills. He shot back, “Stay back! I don’t need any amelioration or evolution!” For God’s sake, are there any good-looking creatures among the Insect Species? Even if there were, he can’t possibly be changed into an insect!
“Cannot comprehend,” Kabbalah halted in response, stating in a constant tone.
“You don’t need to comprehend if you did, you’d be the Supreme Ruler. I’m retaining my current form, I’ll have my own plans,” Finn said quickly. Not caring about whether it understood him, he certainly didn’t wish to be transformed.
