Chapter 83: A Play
Before Tan Lin opens her mouth, Duan Qingfeng finds some reasons to leave voluntarily, “I haven’t finished my case study. Enjoy your chatting. I’m leaving now.” Uncle Zhang leaves together with Duan Qingfeng. That they leave deliberately is clear to Tan Lin, but she does not take it seriously at all. Glancing at the closed door of the study room, she feels at ease and turns around to Ko Chen who sits behind the table. Ko Chen closes the audio of the bug and opens the work report with his mouse clicked as usual.
Tan Lin walks to him and bends down close to his body. An air of flirtation arises with her hands holding his neck, and her breath near his ear. “Chen.” She whispers. Her low voice creates his illusion that the woman behind her is not Tan Lin but Yu Fei. Subconsciously he raises his hands to cover the back of Tan Lin’s. She feels his palm a little rough. His positive response delights her, so she moves her mouth closer with a flirting tone, “You must be tired of work. What about a relaxation?” With it, she moves her hands downwards, touching his Adam’s apple, his chest and belly, and then straightly his penis. However, Ko Chen is awakened by her motions for he knows that his Fei is never dominant in such an aspect.
Immediately he stops the woman’s wandering hands. With his throat cleared, his eyes are clear again. “What are you coming for?” The failure of her flirtation distresses Tan Lin, who bites her lip in a sulk. She withdraws her hands and retraces her steps to the front of the table. She looks poor, “Won’t you come to see me if I don’t come? Am I nothing to you?”
Of course Ko Chen won’t admit it and fixes his eyes on Tan Lin’s eyes. His thought is hidden in his darkened eyes. Tan Lin looks back with no fear. They look at each other in this way, but no spark arises between them. The first one to surrender is Ko Chen who blinks his eyes and raises his hands, sighing, “It’s my mistake. I apologize to you.” His apology is out of her expectation and surprises her so much that her eyes widen, “You apologize to me?”
Since Ko Chen is etermined to eliminate Tan Lin’s hostility toward Yu Fei, the best way is to let her believe that he likes Tan Lin. So he continues his play. He stands up from the chair and walks to Tan Lin, lowering his head to look at her as if she were Yu Fei, thus he becomes tender. Never has Tan Lin been seen by Ko Chen like this and immediately she is drowned in his tenderness.
Seeing this, Ko Chen knows that he nearly makes it, and there is only one last thing to do. He reaches out his strong arms to hold her into his arms. But a strange smell from her makes him feel disgusted. He slightly frowns and manages to suppress his discomfort. There are never such strong smells from Yu Fei. She has her own sweet fragrance, which intoxicates Ko Chen every time he is near to her. On thinking of Yu Fei, Ko Chen is immediately lost in his memories.
Waiting for his further action for a long while, Tan Lin raises her head and sees his eyes without focus and she delivers her question which brings him back to reality, “What are you thinking of?” Her tone is sweet like a little girl. Ko Chen responds with a smile and skips the question, “Do you want to work in Ko Company since you are back?”
Unexpectedly, Tan Lin is frozen by the question, but after a second, a big smile emerges on her face, “Absolutely not! It’s a waste of my experience abroad.” In front of Ko Chen, she is totally a little girl rather than a successful business woman. But such Tan Lin makes him feel complicated especially after he has known that Lin Xiu Company is hers.
But he pretends to know nothing about all kinds of agreements Lin Xiu Company has signed with every big company except for Ko Company. He roughly knows Tan Lin’s target, that is, forcing him back to his family by flopping Ko Company together with other companies by taking advantage of this economic crash. Thinking of his family, he turns gloomy. Since the moment he has been determined to leave his family, there is no possibility for him to return, never.
Not getting his answer, Tan Lin raises her head to look at Ko Chen, but only to find his gloomy face, which stuns her as this is her first time to see such an expression of him. Just at this time Ko Chen lowers his head and changes his face. It switches so quickly that she feels that it was just her illusion. “Since you have your own plan, forget about my words. How about dinner together tonight?” Ko Chen asks his cook to make a full table of dishes that are all Tan Lin’s favorites.
Tan Lin has been invited to have dinner in Ko House twice, which shows her importance to Ko Chen, so the servants start to make their guess although they don’t know who she is. Wang Feng passes the garden when she is out, and hears the chat between a gardener and a cook. At first it doesn’t attract her attention, but when she hears “Miss Tan”, she immediately slows down her pace and listens carefully.
“Isn’t it? Mr. Ko made the order himself. And every meal was from his order. Even Mrs. Ko wasn’t treated like this before.” “It is said that Mr. Ko will divorce his wife. I thought that the woman in the guest room would be his wife. But now it turns out to be another one…” Before the cook finishes her words, the gardener sees Wang Feng behind them and pokes her hurriedly, eyeing her to stop. They smile at her with embarrassment. They enter the room in a hurry, fearing she will ask them in detail.
Seeing the fleeing figures of the two, and thinking of their chat and Ko Chen’s attitude towards Yu Yu recently, she immediately figures out what happened. Now that she has no mood to have fun, Wang Feng instantly goes back. Before walking to the door, she sees Ko Chen and another woman stepping out. She hides behind the plants beside her at once.
Both of them don’t see her and walk away, talking happily. Wang Feng keeps peeping until they get on the car. The car drives away slowly, but Wang Feng’s eyes are still fixed on it. After a long time she mumbles, “This is the reason…”
