Chapter 59: Innocent Online Game Master (Part 35)
Yu Chu could feel locks of soft hair falling against her cheeks as she tried to catch her breath. Then, the man’s arms slipped around her waist to embrace her. He asked coldly, “Do you live alone?”
His voice was low and hoarse as he buried his face against her neck. He tightened his arms around her and the embrace was intimate and warm.
“Yeah.” Yu Chu allowed him to hug her tightly as she stroked his head. “I wasn’t born here and I’m studying at Capital City University. I’m a second year.”
“Capital City University?” Su Yanbai raised his head and his eyes flickered with an unknown emotion. Then his long eyelashes fell as he asked in a hushed whisper, “Are you going to stay in the dormitory when the term starts?”
“Yup.” Yu Chu answered naturally with a nod. She still needed to keep an eye on Lin Xinxin to prevent her brother from sinking deeper. Of course, there was another reason. “Staying in a dormitory is cheap. It’s just a thousand yuan per year.”
She sounded earnest and forthright.
Su Yanbai fell silent for some time and Yu Chu noticed the conflicted emotions billowing in his eyes. Then his eyes reverted to his usual calmness as he leaned towards her to unfasten her seatbelt.
He straightened his back and gazed quietly at her. “Sleep early.”
“Yeah, you too. Drive carefully on your way back.” Yu Chu opened the door after flashing him a smile.
As the girl strode cheerfully into the building, the young man pressed his lips together as he turned to stare at the road ahead. If he were to suggest that she move to his place… It wouldn’t be a good idea.
They had just started dating and it would be too abrupt if he offered to let her live at his place. He pouted as he laid his long fingers on the black steering wheel. There was no trace of emotion on his face.
A light turned on in one of the apartments and he turned his head to glance at it. Instinctively, the expression in his eyes softened.
He quietly memorized her apartment level and unit before he started the engine. As he drove he began to think. He felt like seeing her now… Why? They had just parted ways.
Was this how it felt to have a girlfriend?
…
Time flew past. It was autumn now and school had reopened once more.
“Next, let’s sit back to appreciate the disaster film titled ‘The Start Of The School Term’. The main actors are behind me.”
The student reporter for the school news gestured to the noisy crowd behind her.
Happy youthful faces were seen scattered along wooden pathways outside the Capital City University. Excited voices filled the air as parents dragged huge luggages along with their children. Bicycles weaved in and out of the crowds and the sight was lively and vibrant.
To Yu Chu, it didn’t make a difference whether she had to return to school or not other than the fact that she had to spend time with Lin Xinxin.
“Are you serious, Xinxin? Li Haorui really gave you his number?” She heard the voice the moment she stepped into the dorm.
A girl’s bashful voice rang out. “Yeah, but nothing else happened. We just happened to be able to talk to each other and that’s why we exchanged numbers. Don’t make wild guesses!”
Wasn’t she hoping that everyone would make wild guesses?
Indeed, Li Rong used her elbow to nudge Lin Xinxin with a cheeky grin. “If nothing happened, why would he give you his number? Xinxin, I think the school beau has set his eyes on you! Wishing you the best!”
“What are you talking about…” Lin Xinxin blushed crimson. She noticed Yu Chu and pressed her lips together instantly. Looking uneasy, she strode over to her.
“Chuchu, I’m sorry. Haorui insisted on giving me his phone number. I’d feel bad if I rejected him.”
She sounded aggrieved and pitiful.
Yu Chu was speechless.
