Chapter 82 Bring Lucas Back to the Hamilton Family
Maisy calmed herself down and searched through all the people she could think of and all the people Lucas knew. Still, no one had seen Lucas. She had no choice but to call the teacher again.
“Wait at the school gate. I’ll come to you right away,” the teacher said anxiously. They looked through the school’s surveillance footage together. Maisy saw the person in the surveillance footage. She did know her, but she didn’t expect her to come here. Just as she found out who the person was, Jay called. “Why did you call just now? What happened?” Jay asked nervously. “Did you tell Madeline about Lucas? Why did she come here and take Lucas away?” Maisy’s tone was very anxious. Although Madeline was Lucas’s grandmother, she really didn’t trust her. Jay was a little nervous when he heard that. He didn’t tell Madeline about Lucas. She probably guessed it herself. “Don’t be anxious. I’ll go back immediately,” Jay comforted her. “She won’t do anything to Lucas. Wait for me to go back.”
Maisy wanted to say something, but a phone call from an unfamiliar number suddenly came in. Thinking of the incident with Lucas, she hung up on Jay first and picked up the call. “Who is it?” Maisy asked.
“Maisy, right?” Madeline sneered. “My grandson is here with me. I’ve told you before. Take the money and go away.”
“I’m leaving. I won’t bother you anymore,” Maisy tried her best to say calmly.
“You won’t bother me?” Madeline raised her voice. “If so, why did Jay come looking for you again?”
Maisy answered truthfully, “You can ask him about that.”
“Alright, I don’t want to talk to you about those things anymore.” Madeline’s voice was very cold. “Since you came looking for Jay again, you won’t be able to see this child anymore. He should have returned to us a long time ago!”
“Madam!” Maisy could tell that she didn’t want to talk to her anymore, so she quickly stopped her. “Lucas is used to staying with me. He won’t be able to adapt to the new environment in a short while!”
“I see that he’s adapting very well!” After Madeline took him, Lucas had been playing by himself.
Maisy was a little speechless. Lucas didn’t know about the incident between her and Madeline. He probably thought that she was his grandmother who loved him very much. For the first time, Maisy felt that being too well-behaved wasn’t a good thing. “He’s well-behaved now, but if he doesn’t see me, he will go crazy!” Maisy continued.
Madeline was a little skeptical. Her grandson was really well-behaved. She asked him to call her grandmother, and after she explained the situation to him, he obeyed. Was he really like what Maisy said?
“Madam, let’s meet up.” Maisy took advantage of her hesitation. “It just so happens that I can have a few more words with Lucas.”
“Alright.” Madeline saw her sincere attitude and agreed. No matter what, Maisy was still the child’s mother. It would be good for her to persuade Lucas. Maisy hung up the phone with relief.
“Lucas’s mother, how is he?” The teacher saw her sigh of relief and quickly asked.
“Thank you. It was the child’s grandmother who took him away. He’s fine,” Maisy said with a smile.
The teacher didn’t know about their family’s affairs. When he knew that the child was fine, he heaved a sigh of relief. After all, Lucas was his favorite child!
