Chapter 35: Where the Flowers Bloom
“It’s done!”
Looking at the scene before him, a hint of delight appeared on Lin Yun’s face.
Compared to the thousands of miles of clouds and nine days’ of heavy winds in that book, the Commanding Presence of Dragons and Tigers was inappreciable.
But for Lin Yun, it was quite enough.
With this move, Lin Yun was confident that he had acquired the power of surpassing others even when facing martial artists of the eighth level.
Lin Yun was so excited that he could not express it.
Unexpectedly, he had successfully complemented the cultivation methods of the incomplete innate copies within two days.
No one could tell what would happen if the news were spread.
Of course, he would not have succeeded without a hitch except his comprehension. There were more important reasons.
The first reason was that he had already became a top-level master of the Fist Position of Tigers, and he owned the mysterious painting scroll. He could use the Power of Tigers skillfully that no one in the Sect could compete with him.
The second reason was that he succeeded in arousing the Gathering of Winds and Clouds before the Candled Dragon Statue in the Entrance Hall of the Sect, which enlightened him and helped him understand the artistic conception.
What’s more, the Commanding Presence of Dragons and Tigers was not a fatal move, thus it was not incomplete that much.
Lin Yun would not be so successful without any one of the above-mentioned conditions.
“Merely the Presence can be so dreadful! How amazing will it be when the Fist Positions are fully displayed?”
Looking at the big tree that was cut off by the Commanding Presence of Dragons and Tigers, and the ground that seemed to have been washed by the rain, Lin Yun exclaimed slightly.
The Fist Positions were perfectly working for him.
It was a pity that it was only an incomplete copy, from which it was difficult to learn a single move of the Commanding Presence of Dragons and Tigers.
During the next three days, Lin Yun was practicing the Commanding Presence of Dragons and Tigers hard, and he didn’t want to be freewheeling. At least, he needed to give full play of it smoothly under the Impasse, and he had to achieve a minor success in fifteen days.
It was hard to have the extra trump card, which helped him gain confidence for the fight with Zhou Yun.
He would definitely take a good grasp of it!
“Senior Lin, here’s a letter for you.”
Five days a passed by in a flash, Lin Yun suddenly received a letter when he got up in the morning.
“Who is it from?”
“The messenger did not mention it. Now if you’ll excuse me, Senior.”
The visitor smiled and left immediately.
It was strange how he could have other acquaintances in the Skywater Kingdom. The identity of the original owner was an orphan and he had no relatives.
When Lin Yun opened the letter, his doubt in mind was untied.
The auction!
The letter was sent by Tong Hu, the boss of the Treasure Cabinet in Whitewater City.
The ten Blood Flame Bones he had deposited in Tong Hu’s shop that day had been sent to the auction, and would be openly auctioned soon.
“I almost forgot it.”
Lin Yun received the letter as if he was absorbed in thoughts. The Blood Flame Bones were the original materials of the Magical Weapon, the Blood Flame Armor, whose value was immeasurable.
He had great expectations for this.
“It seems a visit’s in order.”
He left the Sect after packing up.
Lin Yun, who had the Goose Script with him, did not rent a steed in the Sect but hurried on with his journey by his bodily method.
He was travelling during the daytime in order to practice the bodily method, and quietly practicing the cultivation method at night.
Even in outside, Lin Yun didn’t allow himself to truly relax and never forgot to practice hard.
He would soon achieve the fourth-level of the Pure Yang Kung from its third level in a few days.
There were altogether five levels in the Pure Yang Kung. The Inner Power was famous for its strength and conciseness, which was extremely difficult to practice.
However, he was unstintingly generous with the Blood Elixirs and the Low-grade Spirit Stones. His progress was remarkable and he could break though within half a month.
If the Blood Flame Bone could be sold at a good price.
Under the circumstance of having consumed a large amount of the Low-grade Spirit Stone, the Pure Yang Kung might also surpass the fifth-level and reach its top.
Moreover, he also observed the mysterious painting scroll every day to assimilate the spirit of the fierce tiger.
It took Lin Yun four days before he could see the outline of the White Water City from afar.
“It seems that I can enter the city in the daytime tomorrow.”
With the sky turning dark, Lin Yun chose a secluded place and stopped going forward.
He recovered his inner power, which was consumed in the day with the Pure Yang Kung. And then he took out the mysterious painting scroll again.
In him the tiger sniffed the rose!
Every time when he saw the words carved on the scroll, Lin Yun would be stunned and ponder for a long time.
In fact, he did not quite understand what the sentence meant.
The scroll was opened little by little.
Bang!
With the wind blowing in ears, the fierce tiger in the painting was roaring as usual. It penetrated into the depth of his heart with the intention of eating people.
Boom!
One more look would be like a thump in his heart, causing extreme discomfort.
Now Lin Yun was much more capable than he used to be.
At the beginning, he would shake in his shoes at the mere sight of the scroll.
At that moment, the Fist Position of Tigers was secretly working. He was staring at the fierce tiger that kept coming forward.
He was immersed in it and went beyond himself.
Chuu!
He wasn’t aware when a touch of the arc of his sword light burst out from the painting, which was ignited before him, and lit up the night sky.
“Arc of the sword!”
Lin Yun exclaimed to himself, he was so excited that he almost threw away the painting scroll.
He saw it again, there was indeed an arc of the sword!
Once he had seen an arc of the sword flash across painting scroll, which was never found again.
He thought it was his hallucination. But today, the reappearance of that arc made him excited and rendered him speechless.
Lin Yun held his breath and restrained his tension to endure the great pressure brought by the arc.
He was trying hard to keep his inner peace.
He wanted to see, and he must see clearly where the arc came from.
The arc dissipated little by little before him, and he gradually concentrated his sight on the painting scroll.
When the arc completely dissipated, Lin Yun turned pale. The painting scroll had changed. Something that had never been seen before appeared in the centre of it.
One more person appeared.
The man dressed in a blue robe, with his body leaning to one side, held the sword in his left hand and pointed at the sky. His spread out his right palm and thrust forward, with a rose blooming in his palm.
He looked casual and unhurried with poetic charm, which was free and uninhibited.
The artistic conception of the picture was completely different with the one more person.
The fierce tiger in that painting was still roaring through the air with its power that could conquer the mountains and rivers. But it had changed its target from Lin Yun, who was outside the painting, to the rose in the palm of the person inside.
He could even picture the fierce tiger conquering mountains and rivers the next moment.
Closing his eyes, he seemed to see the picture of it sniffing the rose tenderly.
The fierce tiger was huge, which had occupied most of the whole area on the paper. But the person in the picture was just a small point in the center.
But he could tell who the master was and who the subordinate was from a glance.
A sound suddenly raised in his ears when Lin Yun was still in shock, and the man in the painting began to move.
“Where the Flowers Bloom!”
The rose in his palm floated up, as the man took the sword with his right hand and brandished in the air.
The rose fell on the tip of the sword with dazzling brilliance. At that moment, he was as calm as the water.
The infinite power of the sword burst out form his body, which exceeded a hundred times the fierce tiger before.
He was more brilliant than the stars, and he was comparable to the moon with thousands of rays of light around him. It seemed that the mountains and rivers would tremble under his feet as his sword fell.
But it could not be seen. His swordplay was so fast that Lin Yin couldn’t hear what he said clearly.
When he put the sword back, petals were falling. Deep purples and bright reds formed a blaze of colour.
In a sudden, he looked back and smiled, which made the flowers blush.
Drawing out his sword, he jumped into the air.
The petals of flowers and his sword turned into a fierce tiger rushing out of the painting, with the imposing manner of conquering mountains and rivers.
Boom!
Lin Yun was frightened, and dropped the painting on the ground, as if awakening from a dream.
Looking up, he only saw the star-studded sky.
And it was dark about, with no flowers or anyone brandishing his sword.
Lin Yun was stunned and speechless as if he was out of his wits.
He did not know where he was at that moment.
In his mind, it was the man who turned around with his sword and his elegant demeanor.
He settled back into concentration after a long time, and then bent over to pick up the painting scroll.
In another look, the fierce tiger was still there with a man in front of it. He was holding a rose in one hand, and his sword in the other. The overwhelming tiger was sniffing the flower tenderly, which formed a contrast with its vigour.
The man had always been there. The picture hadn’t changed, only his sight was blocked by the fierce tiger before.
He did not see the sword or the flower because of the fierce tiger.
In him the tiger sniffed the rose! Lin Yun comprehended it and benefited a lot.
What’s more wonderful was that there was a set of swordsmanship hidden in the painting, but no matter how hard he tried to recall, he could only remember a pithy formula, “Where the Flowers Bloom”.
Shoot!
Lin Yun rolled the scroll up, and took the Buried Flower Sword out of its sheath. He kept practicing without saying a word in darkness.
“Where the Flowers Bloom! Where the Flowers Bloom!”
As the arc of his sword flashed, he muttered as if possessed by the demon.
